His question hung in the air, as silence filled the room. One could hear a pin drop.
Cassius had gone to get Dylan’s favorite cookies as an extra snack for his lunch. Just a moment after leaving his son, he encountered a bastard spilling nonsense to him-the infamous Nathan Redmond, a man Cassius had long awaited to confront.
Tatiana’s words echoed in his head, fueling his anger:
‘I found my fiance cheating right on my wedding day. He humiliated me, and I had to leave the country just to avoid my father’s wrath…’
This man had the audacity to approach his son, and the school had allowed it? What if he hadn’t come back in time?
“Mister… uh, I guess this was a misunderstanding-”
“Misunderstanding?” Cassius’s voice cut the headmaster’s words off. “If this man tried to take the boy away, I’m quite sure you would have allowed it, wouldn’t you?”
His question made the headmaster swallow, knowing he was right. He glanced over at Nathan, as if waiting for an explanation.
Even with half of Cassius’s face covered, Nathan could see the resemblance-the blue eyes Dylan possessed were from this man. Nathan had blue eyes too, as did Tatiana.
So, Tatiana had been with another man, or perhaps she had cheated on Nathan. But for now, Nathan knew he couldn’t afford to offend this man without knowing his identity.
“I’m sorry if I offended you. Like Mr. Harper said, this was a slight misunderstanding. My ex-” Nathan stopped talking when the man began to approach him.
“Continue,” Cassius demanded, and Nathan tried to compose himself.
“I didn’t mean to offend you,” Nathan changed his words.
Cassius stood tall, his height slightly overshadowing Nathan. Nathan still couldn’t figure out who this man was. He restrained himself from pulling down the mask that concealed his identity. But he dared not.
“The next time I see you around him again, Nathan Redmond, I will drown you in the pit of hell,” Cassius warned in a cold, low voice.
“However, your actions prove to me that this school is worthless,” he said, looking at the headmaster, who broke into a cold sweat. “Or maybe it has the wrong people in charge. My son won’t attend this school again, and I’ll withdraw my support here.”
Cassius turned around and swiftly carried Dylan to his broad chest. The boy clung to him, wrapping his tiny hands around his neck as they left the place.
Cassius made a call that lasted only a few seconds as he approached his Lamborghini with Dylan.
The headmaster’s phone rang, and as he answered it, his eyes widened with every second. He dashed out of the school in search of Cassius, but his car had already left.
The call informed him that the school had just gone bankrupt because of his actions…
Nathan, who witnessed this, was stunned.
Who was that man?

The movie project was set to start the next day, and Director Felix had grown fond of Tatiana. He even took some of her advice and changed a few of his strategies, finding them impressive.
“You should be a director too, don’t you think? I have a lot of people who could help, you know,” Director Felix mentioned as they went to have lunch together.
“That would be a whole lot of stress. Thank you, but I’ll stick with what I know best-being an actress.”
Felix nodded. “I’m always here if you need my help.”
After chatting with him, Tatiana exhaled. *’What a hectic day.’* It was time to see Maya, and by evening, she would see Dylan.
“Tatiana,” a voice sounded behind her, and she turned to see Indigo with her assistant.
“Hi,” Tatiana smiled briefly.
“I had a shoot around this area and just finished,” Indigo explained as she stepped closer.
“Oh, how did it go?”
“Stressful. I might age a year if this continues. I’m free throughout this week, and I’m definitely sleeping like a baby,” she chuckled.
Tatiana chuckled.
“Are you free? Can we go get a drink together as friends? I’d like to know you more.”
This time, Tatiana’s smile slowly faded. *Friend?* That didn’t sound right to her. Deep down, she knew Indigo’s approach had a motive.
Indigo mentioned she was the only woman close to Cassius, probably wondering why Cassius was around her recently.
“I’m afraid I’ll have to decline,” Tatiana said politely, and Indigo’s face dropped a little.
“Why? Are you busy?” she asked.
“Yes, I am. Sorry.” Tatiana would have declined the invite even if she had nothing to do.
“Okay, maybe next time then.”
“Maybe, if you still want it next time,” Tatiana responded, her words holding an underlying meaning. “I’ll be leaving.”
As Tatiana left, Indigo’s cheerful gaze was replaced with curiosity. Her phone buzzed, interrupting her thoughts. A swift smile spread across her lips at the sight of Cassius’s name.
“Hello, hubby?” she answered, excitement evident in her voice.
“Come over, Indigo. We need to talk,” Cassius’s cold voice sounded on the other side before the call ended abruptly.
“That cold punk, but I love him,” she chuckled and turned to her assistant. “Take me to King Company.”

Cassius’s gaze was unreadable as his mind dwelled on what he was about to do. He had taken Dylan back to the mansion, left him in the care of the maids, and asked Hudson to prepare a spot for him in a school he owned. Dylan would start tomorrow.
He planned not to stay long at work today; he needed to see Indigo and settle things with her before heading back to the mansion.
In a few minutes, Indigo stepped into the office, her mood brightening at the sight of him.
Sensing her presence, Cassius turned to face her. His expression didn’t soften as it usually did.
“What a pleasant call, Cash. Can’t you be a little bit more romantic?” she asked playfully as she stood before him.
The serious look on his face changed the atmosphere, and Indigo knew something was wrong.
“What’s wrong?” she asked lightly, noticing his clenched jaw.
“Remember what I told you when I asked you to get engaged with me?” he asked, watching her eyes flicker with confusion.
“Yeah? You said you didn’t feel the same way as I did and that you were marrying me because of your mother’s wish. I told you I was fine if you didn’t feel the same way. My love would bring out yours. Your mother said we were made for each other, and I’m sure she’ll be thrilled when she wakes up and finds a wedding invitation from us,” she grinned, but it slowly faded at his next question.
“And what else did I tell you?”
“You said the engagement might end at any time, but it would be for a crucial reason, and-” Indigo paused, her brow creasing. “Cash, you’re not thinking of ending this, are you?”
He stared at her silently, which gave her the answer.
“The whole world knows we’re getting married. You can’t just call it off! For what exactly?”
“That’s why I asked you to keep it exclusive, Indigo. You should have obeyed.”
“I did that because I would never give you a reason to throw me away. I’ve been waiting years for this, Cash-” Indigo’s voice broke, her eyes brimming with tears.
“You deserve someone who loves you, Indigo, and that person is not me. I have other reasons, and I really can’t do this. I don’t want to hurt you-”
“But you did! You’re tearing my heart apart right now. What is the reason? At least tell me,” she pleaded, and Cassius sighed.
“The woman from that night bore me a son,” Cassius responded, gauging her expression. A tear slowly fell from her eyes. “Like I said, you deserve someone who’s worthy of your love, Indigo. I’m sorry if I’ve hurt you.”
“Do you like her?” she asked.
