“I made it, all our food.
I wanted to do something special for you ”
“This is already special enough for me babe”
“It isn’t enough, I wanted to make you feel and know how much I cherish you, you are all that I ever wanted or asked for, I love you Jessica ”

“No wait this isn’t about me wanting to hear you say it back, this is me being open to you now, just let me pour my heart out to you ”

I made her try the omelette and curry, I knew she was a foodie but never realised she really liked food that much, well it gave me confidence that I cooked what she really liked and it made me glad.
We. Continued eating and once she had enough, the maids took it away leaving the fruits and wine for us.
“I had a hearty dinner thanks to you ”
“No problem, am just really happy you liked it dear”
“Yeah I sure do”
“Jessica, I have something to tell you”
“Okay , am all ears”
“I know we started on a weird foot and I wasn’t really the best there is, okay I was a jerk to you and am really sorry about that”
“Xav, it’s no problem, we all…”
“No please Jessica, just hear me out, don’t say anything till I am done, please ”

“I know I wasn’t the best there in the beginning and I really tried to amend my ways, guess it wasn’t that enough though, you did so much for me and my grandfather, and my parents too, you helped me get the justice they deserved and for that amount really glad ”
I took a deep breath to continue, I was afraid I would make a mistake if I don’t calm down a little, she placed her hand on top of mine and smiled warmly at me,
“And you are honestly the most beautiful and good best thing that has ever happened to me, I really appreciate everything you have done for me and my family, Jessica I really love you a lot and would like you to be the mother of not just my child but my children ”
I got up and stood Infront of her, I knt down and held her hands in mine,
“I know we are married but that was just based on a contract and I want to make it right by you, please Jessica be my wife without the contract, I want to spend the rest of my life with you as my lover and partner, I want to wake up every morning to your beautiful face, I want to hear your voice the first thing in the morning saying ‘good morning’ to me with your angelic voice, Jessica I want you to be mine officially without the contract binding us, please accept me, my dear”
I looked up to get face and I noticed it glistening, she was crying and smiling at the same time, my heart dropped to my stomach, I didn’t mean to make her cry, does she not want me? No she like me that I know and that was what gave me the courage to really pursue her.
“Jessica, did I upset you? Do you not want me?”
“No, no, no, silly, heck no, I love you too Xavier, am just so emotional right now, am not crying because I don’t want you, it’s because am so happy ”
“Okay, thank God, my heart almost gave out now, so does that mean a yes?”
“Yes of course, it’s a yes Xavier ”
I jumped up and carried her up, turning around in Circles, with her screaming in excitement, am so happy, I put her down and put the ring I got her on her finger.
“We are an odd one aren’t we?”
She asked me looking lovely at the ring,
“How?”
“Others court and engage before the marriage but we married courted and engaged, it’s weird but a good weird”
“Yeah, you could say that, I honestly wished I had met you sooner than later honestly ”
“Me too Xavier, then I would not have experienced so many things I did but am glad we met the way we did, we may not have glanced at each other if we had met under a different circumstances ”
“Yes you are kinda right but I would still have gone after you because you ard really gorgeous”

“Wanna take a walk with me?”

We both left out canopy and walked alongside the beach, hand in hand, the sea breeze smelled of salt and water, it was cool not cold or warm just cool, I brought her palm up to my mouth and kissed it.
“That tickles Xavier ”
I did it again and she tried snatching her hand back but I held it firmly kissing it, she appeared to have given up after a while but when I released her a little she snatch her hand back and ran, I smiled and pursued.
“Wanna play smart huh?! Wait till I get my hands on you ”
She turned back and gave me the stinky face and ran again when I tried to pursue her, I got close to her and when I made to catch her she dodged,
“Oh you slippery little thing, I will catch you ”
“Catch me if you can old man”
“Me old man? Okay watch what this old man will do to you if I get you ”
“Meeehhhhh”
We continued this play till I got her, I tickled her and she laughed and lost her balance, I fell along with her me on top of her.
“Okay it’s enough, hahahaha, enough hahaha, Xav…. Xavier ”
“You give up now?”
“Yes I give up ”
I then planted my lips against her soft full ones.
