Jessica’s POV
Throughout the auction, my mind was on that painting, I was sure it was showing an accident scene or that what my mind is conjuring, it’s as if the colours were used to cover something there, I wished I had swiped my hand on it before I was bumped into .
The auction ended and we bought few beautiful paintings of the ocean, Xavier said it reminds him of our resting place when we feel suffocating, I agreed with him on that, we packed everything after paying for them, those paintings cost a lot but it was worth it.
We went home and I put some at the dinning room, living room and our favourite in our own room, it looks beautiful hanging there and it wouldn’t be bad if that’s what I wake up to daily.
We weren’t sad that we didn’t get what we came to get, we were sure that those files are there in that place but we couldn’t see it anywhere, it means either we got the location wrong or they moved it somewhere, but since we have no mole it means that the location is wrong.
I slept off after freshening up and had the most vivid weird dream of my life.
(I was back at the auction house in front of that painting, someone a lady was standing there looking at it, I couldn’t see her face but I know she is the painter, I didn’t approach her, I was looking at the painting when she swiped her hand over it, the images came to life, it was an accident scene that looked like a lot like Xavier’s parents accident except a man in black was standing there looking at the victims die)
I woke up sweating like mad, I think Xavier was startled because he woke up immediately and got me water to drink, I took it with shaky hands, it’s only the miracle of God that it didn’t fell off.
“Are you okay, Jess?”
“Am…. Am fine, I think am fine”
“You had a bad dream ”
“Yes and no, Xavier that painting is the key, it’s what we are looking for”
“What do you mean?”
“That painting was made with some type of material in such a way that when you swiped all them to face any side it shows a lot of things”
“How, I don’t understand ”
“It’s isn’t painted with paint, it was meticulous arranged with a sort of shinning flat beads, it can show four different types of painting depending on which side you swiped ”
“A four in one painting? The artist must be really talented to do that, so what’s wrong with it?”
“I think she witnessed exactly what actually happened at your parents death”
“W… What? What are you saying Jess?”
“Yes, that’s what I saw, seems like someone didn’t swipe it back well so I was able to see some part but when I was bumped into, someone swipe it well to hide it”
“Are you serious about what yo are saying?”
“Yes, she is the sole witness, that day your parents died someone was there looking at them as they begged for help, he didn’t he just let them die”
“….. I… I… I will find a way to get that painting, even if it’s taking a picture ”
“Not just picture, we will swipe all the sides and take a video and picture of each thing showed there that way even if they deny it we will have strong evidence but”
“But…”
“We need to know more about the artist, when she died, how and why?”
“Okay, no problem, I will tell my team to….”
“No Blac is the perfect person for this and besides you have a launch party you need to prepare for, concentrate on that ”
“Okay then, thank you love”
“No worries, I just pray it goes well as we want”
“It will, now get some sleep we have a launch to attend to ”
“Yes”
We went back to sleep again, mine took longer to come but eventually I fall asleep, I woke up the next morning to see Xavier gone but he dropped a sticky note for me, I took it and it reads (am off to the company to prepare for the launch party, come when you are done resting, it starts around four pm, stay safe sweetie )
I blushed and started preparing the whole place and getting ready to go.
Xavier’s POV
I know Jessica said I should let her do the rest but she has known too much and it might put her in danger, and of course I left guards for her to protect her.
I called Blac already and told him what to do and he said okay, I have already informed Mike and Laura about it and they agreed with her because they found it suspicious that the files aren’t there
After everything I focused on getting everything started, I know some people will say I should leave it for my workers but I like handling this sort of things myself to prevent mistakes and accidents I wouldn’t accept.
I directed everything and once everything has been successfully set up, I went upstairs to my office to get ready for the launching party.
My grandfather and Jessica’s aunt have arrived already and are in the private room that over looked everywhere, they can see everything and everyone but no one will see them, Laura has and Mike are on their way and Jessica has already texted me that she is coming with my food, such sweet girl.
After I was done I went downstairs to welcome guests inside, Laura and Mike are already seated, I am yet to see Jessica, she is taking a lot of time.
After an hour I became really worried, I went to the stage to address the guests,
“Thank you all for making out time from your busy schedule to come to Metro company’s launch party, this car model….”
After the speech I head to my table which is where Mike and Laura are seated too,
“What is it Xavier?”
“It’s Jessica, she isn’t here and I can’t get through to her”
“What, let me call her….”
“She just sent me a text… ”
The text carried with it the worst news ever (Mrs McCartney has been kidnapped ), it was one of the guards I hired.
