Jessica’s Point of View
“Same here, be careful ”
I nodded and he left, I didn’t take those words as anything, I thought maybe that’s how he says his farewells but I was wrong because staring at me right now on my table is a piece of paper that reads,
(BE CAREFUL, SOMEONE WANTS YOU DEAD )
I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the note as I was signing the files, I couldn’t remember his face, I remember now, it was covered but I know that it must be about Xavier, there is no dangerous situation I got myself into except Xavier’s family issue.
I texted Blac immediately (Be careful, I think someone is under my tail, be careful about your environment ), the message went through and he sent back to me (don’t worry about me, worry about yourself ), I smiled, I almost forgot that you can’t find him unless he wants you to.
Things are becoming too dangerous, seems like the McCartney’s family conspiracy runs deeper than I imagined, am so excited, am going to tell Xavier everything in the evening, for now let Blac investigate who wants my life, as long as the discussion happened through phone call he will get it.
This is what it means to be a good reporter, once am through with Xavier’s family problem I will go for a paid vocation to cool my head a little, hurry up and get caught fools.
Xavier’s Point Of View
I dropped Jessica off this morning, we have gotten a lot closer since that evening at the beach, even grandfather noticed it, his health has been good and it makes me happy, I looked at the tensed faces in the meeting hall and smiled, am not in the mood to pick point people’s flaws, I stood up and dismissed the meeting, I went into my office smiling to myself…
“Xavier!”
“God!!! What the fuck”
That stupid Mike nearly gave me a heart attack, how did he get inside, (you gave him the fucking keys, that’s how), I glared at him and he had the nerves to shrug and say,
“What is it?”
“Are you seriously asking me that? You startled me”
“Oh, Xavier is settled, wow, this deserves an A+ for me”
“What the hell are you doing here, don’t you have a company to run?”
“I do but fortunately it’s a security company and I don’t need to be there all the time, besides Laura is there”
I raised my eyebrows at him,
“Seriously, does Laura know you are a slacker, you are serious about her huh?”
“Yes of course, am always serious with my girlfriends”
“And they always break your heart in return”
“I trusted you mann, how could you say that to me, you know that’s my sore spot”
“And that’s why I said it, now as you can see am busy, either you shut up or leave”
“Laura chased me out of the company, am planning on giving her that one and staying at my father’s company, he is about to retire soon”
“You are really serious with her, and what if she leaves you with your company ?”
“She wouldn’t do that, we are getting married next month, we have registered already, uncle did it for us, I have informed your grandfather already ”
“You fool, now he is gonna disturb to have a child before you, why did you tell him?”
“Well about the child part ”
My eyes widened in suspicion, no way that dickhead told me grandfather,
“Laura is with child, and I didn’t know, I told your grandfather ”
I sighed, I am going to kill him, no one stop me,
“So tell me, which site and type of coffin do you want to be buried in?”
“Hahahaha, what a joke….. Gosh he is not joking, help! help!! help!! ”
He made to run for the door but I caught him and held him in a chokehold, knocking on his head,
“Come here let me knock some sense into your empty head”
We were busy I didn’t hear when the door opened till someone cleared their throat,
“Hi Martin ”
Mike raised his head and greeted our friend who is my secretary, Iet him go and arranged my clothes,
“Don’t look at me like that, it’s his fault ”
“I didn’t say anything ”
He said so but his eyes was judging I and Mike, Martin is the matured and sensible one among us, he is my grandfather’s favourite, I remember my grandfather offering him an executive seat and he refused saying he will work for it, I cleared my throat and went to seat down but not without glaring at mike.
“Someone is looking for you and it’s not about business, he said I should tell you this you will understand ‘Mrs Jessica’ isn’t that your wife’s name?”
I and mike exchanged gazes and our face changed immediately,
“Let him in”
He looked at us with narrowed eyes before leaving to call the mysterious man to enter.
I didn’t expect who came in, not that I know him, I was expecting someone lanky and dirty looking or rough with piercing all over his body but this man here is neat and decent looking, I wondered what he wants with my wife.
He said nothing, he just came up to me and dropped something in my table, I looked at him maintaining eye contact, he was wearing a face mask so I can’t identify him at all.
“What is this?”
“All the answers you seek is in there, once you made up your mind contact me here”
He said while dropping his card on my table, after that, he nodded and left, no one talked for a moment, we all had one thing in our head (WHO THE HECK IS HE? )
“Do you know him Xavier?”
Mike was the first one to talk,
“Do you think I know him and am just pretending not to know him?”
“I figured you wouldn’t know him”
