Xavier’s POV
I mauled over the question I was asked, who was it? I know I have many enemies but the one that can try to kill me is what I don’t know, mike came back the following day during afternoon time, he got food for me, even though it was still porridge I ate it because the hospital’s own was too bland that I was scared I may lose my taste buds after consuming it.
“Your discharge papers is done already so you are leaving when you are ready ”
“Help me stand, pls it is hard for me”
“Ok, here, you sure you can be discharged today?”
“Yes, I can walk well now, I should just avoid sitting in an awkward position so as to be able to get back up easily ”
“If you say so, you know your body best”
I shaved my beards and trimmed my hair a little, I looked like a prisoner early, I took my bath, careful not to let water touch the bandage, after am done, I wipe my body and wore my clothes
“Am done, let’s go”
We signed the discharge papers and off we go to my company, everyone was looking at me differently, I think it’s because of the fact am married.
“Congratulations sir”
“Congratulations sir”
The bold ones told me, I smiled to show I accept their weird greetings, I went up to my office and to my horror and surprise, there were many presents there, I told my secretary to get someone to send them to Jessica since most of the gifts are hers not mine.
“Now where was I?”
JESSICA’S POV
The door bell rang and I went to open it, since I was closer to it, I was surprised to see gifts, many sizes on the door
“Mrs Jessica McCartney?”
“Yes, it’s me ”
“Sign here ”
I signed and I started getting the gifts upstairs to my room, they were plenty so I had to call for the butler and the cook to help me, went three trips each.
I sat down and started opening them each, they were mostly apologising for the issue about the scandal and congratulating me too, the address is from Xavier’s off so am sure it’s his workers, I opened the gifts and it was really really terrific, from gold jewelleries to diamonds, expensive channel bags, makeup kits, phone pack, and other things, I had to call the cook and the maids to come pick some they like, the gift must be in trend and worth it because they squealed like school girls before taking what they want, I smiled and put the rest away into the walk-in wardrobe.
I prepared for work then, I got a promotion as manager after the scandal, I know it wasn’t Xavier that gave that to me because he has completely disappeared from the face of the earth for the past four days, I wondered if he is safe but I know there is no place he would go now that doesn’t have a TV there for him not to know what I passed through.
“Whatever, it’s not like I cared anyways ”
After I was done, I took the car to work myself, I don’t let the driver take me anymore, it’s more eye catching, I just have to park in the company’s parking lot and take the private elevator perks of being a manager.
M relationship with Collins have sort of pass the awkward level, he has been checking up in me , the last time he can we visited the cafe together talking nothing except work and we separated, everything was good except the way he calls me like now, I exited the elevator and went into my office and say down, I was to get an exclusive interview with Metro company’s rival company and I have heard about how difficult the CEO was but I prayed he wouldn’t be like that to me.
I dialled their number for the appointment we had by 12 pm, after confirming it, I plopped back in my seat.
I am tired, both mentally and physically, I sat up and started setting the interview questions for later.

My new ringtone sounded, I picked my phone up and answered
“Hello Collins ”
“What’s up?, ready for your interview?”
“Yes, thanks again for helping me meet them, I appreciate ”
“No problem, is Xavier back yet or is he still lost?”
“I haven’t seen him yet, so no he isn’t ”
“Okay, don’t worry, you know how this rich people are, they just like being mysterious ”
“Okay, I have heard you, I need to continue working so let’s talk later ”
“Okay, bye abs do have a nice day ”
The calm ended but my concentration was already lost, is Xavier disappearance because he is angry with me or did something happen? I called grandfather and he said he is not with him and Mike isn’t saying anything.
(I hope he is alright though, am tired)
I went back to my typing
COLLINS POV
“She said he isn’t back yet, maybe he is dead”
“I doubt that, my men said he is still alive when they left him”
“What if no body got to him on time so he was left there until it was late, you said he was drunk”
“Maybe you are right”
“Why do you want him dead anyway, last I check you two were good so what’s the change of heart?”
“Good, I and Xavier, you must be joking, he may think that but I don’t, i want him DEAD”
