Xavier’s POV
I dropped her (Jessica) at her workplace and headed to mine, my grandfather called this morning and told me he approved the construction proposal all that is left to do now is to present it to the shareholders, it’s going to be tough because am spoiling alo of their corruption plans and unbeknownst to them am going to use this opportunity to fish out who amongst them is the spy of CG company, it’s has been their rival company for ages and since that maniac Marcus was made CEO it was worse, he doesn’t try to hid it from us anymore.

I nodded as everyone I passed was greeting me, I took my own private elevator because I like my space.
“Good morning sir, the shareholders are all here ”
My assistant Bran said to me, we are actually friends but he works for my company, but it doesn’t make me treat him less .
“Good morning too, Bran, they sure do come early, did you investigate what I told you?”
“Yes I did and you will be surprised at my findings ”
“Three shareholders, they were involved in gambling, and they used their shares as collateral and when they lost, they were baited into spying so as to get it back”
“Old fools, are the shares in their hands now?”
“Yes, it is, should we buy or take them back?”
“Am taking them back, you know what to do, this night call me when it’s ready ”
“Okay, I will inform our men, go on and start the meeting, they have been grumbling since they came”
We shook hands and I went to to the meeting room
Everywhere became silent as soon as I stepped in.

I thought to myself as I look at them, I locked eyes with the three and they evaded quickly probably because of guilt.
“Today we will be talking about the proposal to develop district A land we bought into a tourist park”
One hour and 30 minutes the meeting ended, everyone left except the three gambling shareholders, I pretended not to see them and made my way to the door.
“Excuse us CEO Xavier”
“Good morning gentlemen, how may I be of help?”
“You, please we know you knew about our gambling, honestly it was a set up, they promised we will get back out input ”
“And you readily gave out the company to a stranger, this goes to show that you are not trustworthy ”
“No, we were drunk and it’s possible that we were even drugged”
“Drunk or drugged? You three must still see me as a kid, how many times have I cleaned up after you two and now worse you are a fucking spy, I can condone anything except betrayal ”
“What can we do please ”
“Forfeit your right and sell a half and third of your shares then I will agree”
“That’s outrageous, we will be left with o lying 10 percent shares”
“Choose between losing everything and having 10 percent remaining and don’t forget that I have all your dirty secrets with me”
I stared at them in disgust and left the room
“So, what did they choose?”
Bran approached me immediately I came out, startling me in the process.
“Learn to make a sound, I believe they will make the right decision because they know who actually holds their life”
“Okay, but incase it does not work, we will utilise plan B then”
“Good, Marcus is really seeking my attention desperately, I don’t know whether he took the heir training or villain training”
JESSICA’S POV
It’s the month end when salaries are paid and some intern are either taken or dropped, I stood nervously Infront of the CEO’s office, since the former manager, there hasn’t been a new manager and I have been hearing rumours about our company being sold but I don’t know to whom.
“Mrs Jessica come in”
(Mrs? don’t tell me he knows am married? )
I stepped in and closed the door behind me, this is actually my first time seeing our CEO, I was about surprised because I thought he will be an old man, but he looked young almost my age.
“Good day sir”
“Good day, you can sit ”
“Thank you sir”
“Here, this is your letter of appointment, you have tried hard for this company and has given us many exclusive scoops so you deserve it”
“Thank you so much sir, I really appreciate ”
“No need, am sorry for what the previous manager Miss Natalie did, it won’t happen again, ”
I nodded and I was dismissed, I was elated and happy, I know it went this smooth because of Xavier.
Ever since we got married, he has been nice to me though I am grateful, my guard is still up, what Collins did to me hit me real bad, it still hurts and being in a contract marriage, one that can end anytime isn’t helping matters at all, it put me on a edge.
“You fucking bitch!!”
A loud voice interrupted my thoughts, I looked at the noise direction to see Natalie fuming in anger and approaching me.
“Wasn’t it enough for you that I got demoted, how dare you, I lost my job because of you ”
“I don’t understand, how is you losing your job any of my business, I don’t even know the branch you were posted to”
“Don’t try to deny it, you made them sack me, give me my job back”
I heard losing ones job can make them crazy, I thought it was absurd but now I believe it to be really true, I decided to ignore her and leave.
“Come back here, you slut, don’t you turn your back at me”
I snickered at her, enraged she slapped me, I turned and slapped her back twice, she fell down
