Morticia moaned softly as she shifted on the bed with a small frown. Her eyes slowly fluttered open, meeting an unfamiliar room.
She recalled standing with Klaus and discussing things with Valerie and Rhea, and then everything turned blank.
“Bunnie?” Klaus’s deep voice made her turn her head to the side.
A smile spread across his lips as he shifted closer.
“What happened?” she asked in a weak voice.
Klaus reached for her hand, holding it in his. Emotions swirled in her eyes, and Morticia began to panic.
“Is something wrong with me?” she asked innocently.
Klaus shook his head gently, then leaned in to kiss her forehead.
He pulled back slightly and brushed a strand of hair from her face.
“You’re okay, Bunnie,” he murmured. “You’re carrying our child.”
Morticia swallowed, her heart pounding. “What?”
He exhaled with a grin. “You’re going to be a mother soon. You’re two weeks pregnant.”
Silence.
Morticia blinked, her lips parting slightly as if she had misheard him. Emotions surged through her-shock, disbelief, and happiness. Her eyes immediately welled up with tears.
“I’m pregnant,” she repeated his words.
“Yes, you are,” Klaus chuckled.
“I’m going to have a baby?” she asked, biting down on her lips, suppressing her cries.
“Yes. Our baby. It’s going to be beautiful, I promise,” Klaus whispered, his voice heavy with emotion.
“Oh my God!” Tears fell from her face as she sat up and threw her arms around him, hugging him tight. Tears flowed down her face, wetting Klaus’s shirt. Happiness swirled in them both.
After four months, Morticia couldn’t help but sigh at her husband’s caring nature. Klaus would carry her anywhere if she complained about anything. He made sure she slept before him, helping her through any discomfort.
He would kiss her whenever she had mood swings and provide all of her cravings-only those that were not harmful to her state.
He had researched every good and bad aspect of pregnancy. He was becoming an expert himself.
Her heart swelled with joy. He was the best husband. Though sometimes she would want to do things herself and seeing her persistent, he would allow her.
While making nice salivating breakfast, Morticia blinked in confusion. “Isn’t this too much for just the two of us?”
Klaus hummed in response, and Morticia gave him a cute questioning look.
“Are we expecting a visitor?”
The doorbell rang.
“I’ll get it,” she said, silencing him with a kiss before leaving.
As Morticia opened the door, her eyes went wide, and a gasp left her lips.
“Mom!” she exclaimed, jumping to hug her middle-aged mother.
“Aww, my sweet little cupcake!” Ava dropped her bag to the floor and threw her arms around her daughter.
Ava glanced down at the swell of Morticia’s belly and caressed it gently. “Hi there, little fella! it’s growing so well,” she gave Morticia a gentle pinch on her cheek.
Ava stepped in and Morticia gasped again at the sight of her brother Vincent, his wife, and their children.
She squealed and hugged him tight.
Vincent snickered. “Careful, innocent demon!”
As they broke the hug, she tried to suppress her laughter and joy. “You’ll never stop calling me that, will you?”
“Let me see… uhm… nope,” Vincent teased, earning a playful hit on his chest in return. “I’ve missed you too, sis.”
Morticia stepped to hug Nica too. “You look absolutely beautiful! I had no idea my brother could be this cool,” she said, casting a look at her brother, who squinted his eyes.
“I’m always cool,” Vincent defended.
“You look beautiful too, Morty. I’ve missed you,” Nica said.
Morticia careful carried Bran, Vincent’s youngest son, and greeted little Evan, holding and taking them in further.
“So you did it, huh?” Vincent sighed as he approached Klaus, who was chatting with Ava. “This is weird, but congratulations,” he grinned and hugged his best friend.
“I missed you, brother,” Klaus said.
Vincent lowered his voice. “And yet you didn’t invite me for the fight you had not too long ago.”
“I don’t want to pull you into dangerous stuff like that again,” Klaus said.
“You suck,” Vincent mumbled, and Klaus chuckled. Oh, how he missed this playful brother of his.
After that, they all settled down, and Morticia realized the nice breakfast was actually meant for her family.
Her mind drifted back years ago. One could never imagine life would take this turn, that she would finally have a life with Klaus, and that it would be this beautiful.
The thought brought tears to her eyes, but she quickly wiped them away. The emotions were overwhelming.
Then she felt Klaus placing his gentle hand on her thigh. He must have noticed her.
With a smile, she placed her hand on his too.
Their gazes met, and Morticia mouthed, “Thank you for everything.”

EPILOGUE
“Andrea,” Morticia called out in a gentle voice. Tiny footsteps followed.
A five-year-old girl appeared at the kitchen entrance. Andrea resembled Morticia, with an innocent face, though she was a bit stubborn like Klaus and had his eyes and hair. An adorable kid.
“Mummy,” little Andrew chimed behind her, hopping into the kitchen with a cute grin. “When is Daddy coming back?”
“Tonight, darling,” Morticia replied, her stomach swollen with another baby-a boy.
“Oh, I miss Daddy. I hope he brings many candies!” She kept hoping, wanting to check what her mother was making for dinner.
“He surely will,” Morticia replied, then bent down to kiss her adorable little daughter.
Then, the doorbell rang, and the creaking of the door echoed through the space.
“Daddy!” Andrea squealed, running to the door as Klaus stepped in.
She squealed, jumping into his arms and hugging him tightly.
“Little flower, I’ve missed you,” Klaus said, showering her face with kisses.
“I missed you too, Father.”
Morticia appeared and gave Klaus a welcome kiss as he pulled her close.
“I missed you, wife,” he smiled, kissing her forehead. The kiss felt as though it touched her soul.
Later, as they all sat down for dinner, Andrea suddenly asked, “Daddy, can I call you Sin?”
Klaus paused mid-bite. “Why?” he asked gently.
“Because Mummy calls you that sometimes,” Andrea replied innocently.
“No, that title is only for Mummy, darling.”
“Why? Because you’re married to her? I’ll marry you then,” Andrea declared, and Morticia almost choked.
Andrea’s words were sharp and straightforward, a trait she had inherited from her father. One would never guess she was only five.
“No, you’re not stealing my husband,” Morticia said gently as she joined the family at the table.
“You stole my father. Why can’t I?”
“Oh my God,” Morticia muttered, speechless, as Klaus laughed, his deep voice mixing with the lovely atmosphere.
Dinner continued in high spirits, and soon Andrea fell asleep in her father’s arms.
After tucking their daughter into bed, Morticia lay in Klaus’s arms. They shared memories while Klaus caressed her swollen belly.
Even after all these years, their love remained strong, growing. Their souls were bound, meant for each other.
Despite their flaws and the obstacles they had faced, they overcame everything and remained inseparable.
MY BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND.
