Chapter 53: Five feet

Klaus’s mind had been elsewhere ever since the lecture started. All he did was stare at the board with his arms folded and his tongue rolling in his mouth.
He wasn’t in school for the class anyway; he just wanted to see Bunnie.
His face looked a bit stressed-he hadn’t been able to sleep the night before. His mind was consumed by the fact that he had hurt Morticia and her words from last night lingered painfully.
“Seven years,” he mumbled. He had doubted her when she said it, but reading the diary made his head spin with anger at himself. How could he have been so stupid to hurt her? Not once, not twice, but so many times.
Even with that b! tch, Dimitri, who tried to hurt her.
“If I were in her place, I would have killed me a long time ago.”
“But she could have told me,” he mumbled again. Tell him?
Oh, Klaus, you know who you are. His subconscious whispered.
But he wouldn’t have rejected her like he had with other girls, right? Bunnie wasn’t just any other girl. She was special to him. He had just realized that.
Could he date…? Ugh, it felt strange thinking about it. Date.
Oh heavens, how does such a thing work? He had absolutely no idea. At the same time, he didn’t want to hurt her. Or maybe he should stay away from her.
No, that would be torture. She was always around, and he missed her already. He missed her smile, her laughter, and the way she squished her face whenever he teased her. He missed the way her body felt when resting against his, her lips, her moans…
“Mister Klaus!” The lecturer’s voice snapped him back to reality.
Klaus noticed the students staring at him. Some of the girls shot him seductive yet concerned looks. Sluts.
“Is everything alright? I’ve called you a few times, but you don’t seem to be here.”
“Any problem?” Klaus threw the question back, clearly annoyed that the teacher had interrupted his thoughts.
“No. I just noticed you weren’t listening and had to call for you,” the nerdy-looking lecturer replied.
“That’s nice of you. You can continue,” Klaus said curtly. The man nodded and turned back to the board.
Klaus reached for his phone. Morticia hadn’t replied to his messages. He checked the time; Morticia’s class must have just ended. He stood up and left the classroom while the lecturer frowned in confusion.
When he arrived, he didn’t find her. He then headed to the cafe where she usually had her lunch, but she wasn’t there either.
Sighing, he thought about calling her when a familiar voice sounded behind him.
“Sin.”
Klaus turned to see Zara approaching him, his eyes widening.
“Stop!” He snapped, and Zara froze, her friend doing the same.
“What?”
“Just stay right where you are. Don’t come closer than five feet, okay?” Klaus warned.
Zara snickered. “What? Is this a prank or something?” She stepped forward, and he stepped back.
“I’m f*cking serious. Stay right where you are,” Klaus snapped.
“Your order is ready, sir,” he was informed from behind, and he quickly grabbed his burger and walked past Zara, who was stunned. As he got outside, he crossed paths with the person he had been looking for.
“Bunnie,” he mumbled, breath hitching.
Morticia, who had just witnessed the scene, glanced back at Zara. Klaus noticed and quickly spoke up.
“She was five feet away.”
Morticia snickered. “Really?” Her smile did something to him.
“Yeah, and I’ve been trying to reach you. You weren’t answering.”
“I’ve been busy. I came here to get lunch before heading to a book club that Rhea and I are in…”
“Can I join?” Klaus asked, and Morticia’s brow furrowed.
“You want to join a book club? You called always call it boring, remember?”
Klaus shrugged. “I want to be close to you.”
Morticia’s face turned red at his words, her heart fluttering as it echoed in her head. She noticed his tired eyes.
“Did you sleep?” she asked, her voice soft, unlike the cold tone she had used on him the night before.
“I couldn’t. I sleep better with you by my side,” he said, and she averted her gaze with a smile. Klaus love the sight of it.
Morticia never thought Klaus would actually come to the book club with her. Even Rhea was shocked, her mouth hanging open.
The club welcomed Klaus, though everyone knew who he was and the influence he had. This made everyone a little nervous, except for the leader.
Klaus sat beside Morticia.
“What’s he doing here?” Rhea whispered to Morticia. She was sitting on the other side.
“I don’t know,” Morticia mouthed.
The activity began as the peers started reading their books, learning new things and solving problems.
All the while, Klaus’s eyes remained on Morticia. The club was boring, but her face was captivating. She noticed his stare and signaled him to concentrate, but he only smirked.
“You need to be serious; stop staring at me,” she whispered, and Klaus finally tore his gaze away from her. But when she became engrossed in the club again, he resumed his gaze on her.

Vincent stepped out of his car and stared at the building in front of him. He glanced down at his phone, revealing Sienna’s location.
She had told him she was home, feeling a little sick, but her phone said otherwise. He had never trailed Sienna in the three years they’d been together since he found ot sureal.
He doesn’t want to look like some crazy boyfriend obessed over his girl, but today he felt he had to.
He had sneaked out of the company since his mind couldn’t stay calm.
The hotel building towered above him, as if it were touching the sky. Its lights shimmered under the moonlight. Guards stood protectively at the entrance. What was she doing here?
He entered and approached the woman at the front desk.
“Hello, beautiful,” Vincent spoke smoothly. His black suit matched his confident personality. He looked so handsome that the lady’s heart skipped a beat.
“OMG… Vincent Addams?” she gasped, turning out to be a fan. “I’m dreaming right now. Are you really standing before me?”
Vincent flashed her a charming smile. She would have screamed if it weren’t for the fact that she was at work.
“Pleasure to meet you,” he replied.
“How can I help you? And please, can I get an autograph before you leave?” she pleaded.
“Of course. I’m here to see someone. Her name is Sienna Smith.”
The lady nodded and checked the name. “Uhm… her name isn’t here.”
“Really?” Vincent frowned and checked his phone. She was definitely here. Clearing his throat, he continued, “How about President Peter Warlow, the CEO of the company I’m under? We have a situation, and he isn’t picking up. Since I’m around, my team decided to send me here.”
“Oh, the big show!” the lady gushed. “I can’t wait to see you dance.”
“Autograph first,” Vincent demanded, and the girl slid a book and pen to him. After signing, he winked at her and thanked her before getting the room number.
After Vincent left, the woman snapped back to her senses. President Peter had mentioned not to be disturbed. She considered calling Vincent back but thought that since it was his artist, it might be alright.
Getting to the given floor, Vincent walked to the room and paused before it.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart.
Exhaling, he glanced down at the staff ID he had stole from a worker he had bumped into on his way here.
The door beeped open as he pressed the card against it. He stepped inside and shut the door, only to be welcomed by muffled sounds and moans.
He frowned at the familiarity of the voices.
With hastened steps, he approached the bedroom door and slammed it open, meeting a dreadful sight.
His CEO had the woman he loved wholeheartedly pinned naked to the bed, ramming his cock into her, while she let out loud moans…
His eyes widened, tears filling his eyes as his world destroyed right there, driving him insane…
“S… Sie… nna?”
