Klaus froze, wide-eyed, his mind racing to process what in the world had just happened. Her lips were pressed against his. She had actually kissed him?!
Her eyes were closed, her hand slowly wrapping around his neck to hold him close.
Why? Why couldn’t he move?
He badly wanted to pull away from her. Heaven knew he tried to… She was drunk, a mess, not in her right mind. And again, she was his best friend’s little sister. Bunnie.
It hit him.
The sight of her biting her lip, the wet, glittering lips now pressed against his own. Damn it! It was dangerously irresistible.
Again, heaven knew he tried his best, but… he couldn’t.
She began to pull her lips away from his, but he reconnected, his lips moving, tasting those soft, firm lips. The taste of alcohol lingered on them.
Klaus was hard and rough, like the devil inside him wanted him to be. Who could blame him? She was intoxicatingly sweet.
He was slow, gentle, savoring the sweet feel of her lips against his. She was inexperienced, and he was leading.
His tongue rolled over her lower lip, pulling it gently with his teeth before sucking on it again.
“Uhm,” she moaned, the sound driving him to the edge. He wanted to do sinful things to her. He wanted to hear her moan his name, begging for his touch. Hell, he wanted to kiss her all night.
He cupped the side of her face, tilting it slightly to gain more access. She was slowly catching on, following his lead like a good girl. Soon, their pace mingled, lips burning against each other, breaths mingling.
Her fingers buried in his hair, pulling him closer, deepening the forbidden kiss…
She’s drunk, you idiot!
Klaus’s eyes flew open as the realization struck him. He finally snapped out of it, pulling away from her, chest heaving.
His phone rang, and he quickly grabbed it. Vincent was calling.
He looked back at Morticia. Her face was now calm, eyes still closed, her breathing steady. She had fallen asleep. Clearing his throat, he rose to his feet, completely disconnecting himself from her before answering the call.
“Hey, how’s my sis?” Vincent’s question rang from the other end.
“S-She’s fine… she just fell asleep,” Klaus replied, struggling to steady his voice.
“You sure? You sound a bit off,” Vincent said.
“Well, actually… I found her drinking.”
“Drinking?” Vincent almost shouted.
“You forgot what today is, didn’t you, dumbass?” Klaus asked.
“Today?… Oh shit… My father’s death anniversary… she’s going to kill me.”
“No, I’m going to kill you,” Klaus corrected.
“I’m so sorry. Things have been hectic, you know that.”
“Yeah. How’s Ava?” Klaus asked.
“She’s doing well… aren’t you going to ask about your mother?”
“Take care, Vin,” Klaus said, ending the call.
___
Vincent sighed as the call disconnected. “That sinful bastard hasn’t changed,” he muttered, adjusting his black suit. He was helping his mother since her assistant was away on business.
Ava stepped out of the dressing room in a flowing white dress, looking younger than her years. It was hard to believe she had two grown children.
“How do I look?” she asked.
Still distracted by thoughts of Morticia, Vincent barely glanced at her. “Good.”
“Good? I wanted gorgeous. I’m changing,” she said, turning back.
Vincent’s eyes widened. “Wait! I meant gorgeous! You look gorgeous, Mom!”
“Don’t lie to me, young man.”
“I’m serious! I wasn’t paying attention. You look absolutely gorgeous,” he emphasized.
She folded her arms. “Not paying attention? Then where were you?”
“Don’t worry about it, Mom. Your show is about to start.”
“If you don’t tell me, I’m changing,” she said, turning again.
Vincent sighed. “Fine. It’s Morticia.”
Her eyes widened. “What happened to my baby? Is she okay?”
“Today is Dad’s anniversary.”
Ava’s face paled. “Oh my God.”
“Mrs. Addams! You’ve got four minutes!” her manager called.
“I need to go home. I can’t leave her alone.” she panicked.
“Klaus is with her. She’s asleep. Don’t worry, Mom.”
“But still…”
“Mom, she’s fine. She’s with Klaus,” Vincent reassured her, knowing how important this show was for her career.
“Mom,” he called softly when she drifted into thought. “She’s fine,” he repeated, hugging her.
“Thank you, son.”
“I love you, Mom.”
After Ava left for the show, Vincent sighed in relief. He pulled out his phone to check messages from his dance manager, who had been scolding him for missing lessons.
Instead, he saw a picture posted by one of Sienna’s friends. It showed them at a party, and Sienna was there. The date was today.
He immediately called her. She picked up on the second ring.
“Babe,” she greeted.
“Hey. Where are you?” Vincent asked.
“Uh… I’m home.”
“Home? Or at a party?”
“Huh… I… I’m sorry, Vin. It’s Mia’s birthday. I couldn’t miss it. I didn’t tell you because I knew you wouldn’t approve.”
“You just recovered from being sick, babe.”
“I know, Vin. But you know how Mia and I and close, i couldn’t miss it. I’m really sorry. Please understand.”
Vincent sighed. “Fine. Don’t stay out too late, okay?”
“Alright.”
___
As the call ended, Sienna shot a glare at her friend, the one who posted the picture.
“What? I didn’t know your boyfriend would see it,” her friend shrugged.
Sienna had been looking forward to Mia’s birthday for ages, knowing Vincent wouldn’t approve of her going because of her health.
“What’s with your boyfriend trying to control you?” Mia asked, sipping her drink.
“I love him that way,” Sienna replied.
Her friends exchanged glances and laughed.
___
After the show, Ava and Josephine, Klaus’s mother, were in the dressing room, removing their makeup.
“I can’t believe you forgot a day like this, Ava,” Josephine said.
“Stop scolding me. I feel terrible already. Morticia’s going to be so mad. Thank God Klaus is with her.”
At the mention of Klaus, Josephine’s expression darkened. She hadn’t seen her son in a long time. Ava saw him more often than she did.
Josephine knew Klaus kept an eye on her but avoided meeting her. She knew why.
Ava noticed her tension. “You’re not going to tell him? You can’t keep this secret forever.”
“I can’t tell him, Ava,” Josephine sighed.
“Why not? He’ll find out eventually.”
“Klaus will lose it. He’ll destroy everything once he knows. I know the news will spread soon, but I just can’t face him… Gosh… I hate my life.”
Ava reached for her hand. “It’ll be okay. You and Klaus will be okay.”
Josephine sniffled. “I hope so,” she whispered, and Ava hugged her tightly.
