Book:The Heart Of A Mafia Published:2025-2-18

The next morning, Luca sat cross-legged on the floor in front of Leo, a conspiratorial smile on his face. “Leo,” he whispered, leaning in close to the hybrid’s ears, “I’m going to propose to Sophia. I want it to be a surprise, something she’ll never forget.”
Leo’s feet thumped against the floor as he listened intently, his ears pricked up with curiosity.
Luca smiled, his eyes filled with excitement. “I want to propose at the restaurant, Leo,” he continued, his voice hushed with anticipation. “That’s where Sophia and I first met. It’s special to us.”
Leo tilted his head, his eyes thoughtful, then a look of understanding crossing his face.
Luca laughed softly, shaking his head in amusement. “I know you’re smart, Leo,” he said. “I know you understand.
Leo smiled wider as he listened to Luca’s words, his mind racing with ideas. Then, a mischievous glint appeared in his eyes, and he tilted his head in a thoughtful manner.
“What if we do this instead?” he seemed to say, a playful smirk on his canine face. “We don’t wish Sophia happy birthday, and Leo takes her out to buy stuff for the house. Then she goes to her room to cry, then you propose ”
“Leo you are a genius!!! That is a great plan! Thank you so much Leo” Luca said smiling happily.
“You are welcome my boss! I will go and do the shopping ahead of time, and make sure everything is in order” Leo said happily.
Days later it was Sophia’s birthday. Sophia woke up and prepared to take her bath and dress up. she was looking elegant and very beautiful.
Sophia pass Luca expecting him to wish her a happy birthday but Luca only greeted her a good morning.
She saw Leo, Leo didn’t wish her a happy birthday either, she quickly went to meet her twins and she saw that Luca had refreshed them
already.
Sophia became sad, she quietly sat down in the parlor not long after Leo came to meet her.
Sophia’s heart sank as the day wore on, her birthday coming and going without a single word of acknowledgement from her friends or family. She felt alone, forgotten, and as the hours stretched into evening, she began to feel tears prickling at the corners of her eyes.
Leo sensed her sadness and gently nudged her hand, rubbing her palms softly. “Let’s go shopping,” he seemed to say, his eyes shining with affection. “Let’s find some supplies for the house.
Sophia nodded, wiping away a tear as she stood up from her seat. “Okay, Leo,” she murmured, her voice soft and sad. “Let’s go shopping.”
They made their way to the supermarket, Sophia pushing the cart as Leo trotted at her side. As they wandered through the aisles, Sophia couldn’t shake the feeling of loneliness, the sense that she didn’t matter to anyone.
Finally, they returned home, Leo watching as Sophia unpacked the groceries in silence.
As Sophia moved about the kitchen, putting the groceries away, her thoughts swirling with sadness and despair, she failed to notice the packages and wrapped gifts tucked discreetly beneath the kitchen table. Leo, his eyes twinkling with mischief, nosed a ribbon out from under the table, a silent signal to Sophia.
“Leo, what’s that?” Sophia asked, her voice shaky with confusion. She knelt down, reaching for the ribbon, and her heart leapt as she saw the presents hidden beneath the table.
Sophia’s eyes widened as she looked around the room, a wave of excitement sweeping over her. “Could this be…” she whispered, her voice filled with wonder.
Leo grinned, his tail wagging furiously. “Follow me,” he seemed to say, trotting towards the door that led to Sophia’s bedroom.
Sophia’s heart pounded in her chest as she hurried after Leo, her hands trembling as she reached for the doorknob.
Sophia’s hand shook as she opened the door, her eyes widening as she took in the scene before her. The room was filled with flowers, candles, and balloons, and in the center of it all, on one knee, was Luca. He held a small velvet box in his hand, a nervous smile on his face.
“Sophia,” he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. “Will you marry me?”
Tears welled up in Sophia’s eyes as she looked at Luca, her heart overflowing with love and joy.
“Yes, Luca,” Sophia breathed, her voice trembling as she nodded her head. “Yes, of course I’ll marry you.”
Luca stood up, sweeping her into his arms as Leo leapt around them, his tail wagging in delight. They kissed, their lips pressing together with a passion that was both new and familiar, as if this moment had been written in the stars from the very beginning.
“I love you, Sophia,” Luca murmured as they broke apart, his eyes filled with wonder.
Sophia smiled, her cheeks flushing as she looked into Luca’s eyes. “And I love you,” she whispered. “I love you more than I ever thought possible.”
They sat down amidst the candles and flowers, their fingers entwined as they opened the packages and gifts that had been hidden beneath the table. Sophia laughed, tears of happiness streaming down her face as she unwrapped a framed photograph of the four of them – her, Luca, Leo, and the twins – smiling together on the beach.
“This is perfect, Luca.
Luca smiled at Sophia, his eyes sparkling with desire. “Leo,” he whispered, gently nudging the hybrid with his foot. “Why don’t you go and keep watch outside? Give us a bit of privacy.”
Leo gave a short bark of understanding, padding out of the room with his tail still wagging.
Luca turned back to Sophia, his gaze intense and filled with passion.
“Sophia,” he murmured, his voice low and husky. “Let me show you just how much I love you.
Sophia’s breath caught in her throat as Luca leaned forward, his lips brushing against hers in a kiss that was both tender and fierce. His hands moved over her body, tracing the curve of her hips, the slope of her neck, the softness of her skin.
“Oh, Luca,” Sophia moaned, her fingers tangling in his hair as his kisses moved down her body, exploring every inch of her with an intensity that made her ache with desire.
Luca chuckled softly, his voice a whisper in the darkness.
Sophia’s heart pounded as Luca’s fingers danced across her skin, sending shivers of pleasure coursing through her body. He kissed her thighs, his tongue teasing and tasting, before moving upward, his breath hot against her most intimate places.
Sophia gasped, her back arching as Luca’s lips found her center, his tongue dancing and swirling in a rhythmic motion that sent her spiraling into ecstasy.
“Luca,” she moaned, her hands gripping the sheets as he brought her to the brink of release.
Luca kissed his way back up Sophia’s body, his lips tracing a path of fire across her trembling skin. His eyes were dark with desire, his hands trembling slightly as he settled himself between her thighs.
Sophia reached for him, her fingers trailing down his chest, his abs, his hips. She bit her lip, her eyes shining with anticipation as he positioned himself at her entrance.
Luca looked down at Sophia, his eyes holding hers as he pushed inside, filling her with a single, smooth stroke.
Sophia moaned, her hands gripping Luca’s shoulders as he began to move, each thrust sending a wave of pleasure through her body. She rocked her hips against his, matching his rhythm, her cries of ecstasy growing louder and more urgent.
Luca’s lips found hers, their kiss desperate and hungry as they moved together in a dance as old as time. Their bodies glistened with sweat, their breathing harsh and ragged as they neared the edge of ecstasy.
“I love you, Sophia,” Luca whispered, his voice filled with emotion as his thrusts grew faster, more insistent. “I love you more than anything.”
Sophia arched against him, her release building like a tidal wave, a storm of pleasure gathering in the pit of her stomach. She could feel Luca’s own release approaching, his body tensing with the effort to hold back.
“Let go,” she whispered, her voice hoarse with desire. “Let go, Luca. I’m with you.
Luca let out a low groan as he gave himself over to the moment, his body shuddering with pleasure as he found his release. Sophia cried out, her body arching as her own release swept through her like a hurricane, sending her into a spiral of ecstasy.
They lay together afterwards, their bodies still joined, their breaths coming in short gasps. Sophia turned to Luca, a smile playing at the corners of her lips.
“Luca,” she murmured, her fingers tracing patterns on his chest. “We did it.
“We did, Sophia,” Luca replied, his voice filled with wonder. “We defeated Vito, rescued the governor’s daughter, and found each other.” He leaned down, his lips brushing against her forehead. “We’ve found a love that will last a lifetime.”
Sophia smiled, nestling her head against his chest. “And Leo,” she said, her voice filled with warmth. “We couldn’t have done any of this without him. He’s part of our family now.”
Luca nodded, a tender smile crossing his face. “Yes, Leo is one of us,” he agreed. “Our guardian angel, our loyal companion.” He kissed Sophia’s forehead again, his voice a whisper. “And speaking of family…”
Sophia’s eyes widened in anticipation. “Yes?” she asked, her heart racing.
Luca smiled, his eyes twinkling.
“I think it’s time we added another member to our little family,” he said, his voice filled with excitement. “What do you say, Sophia? Are you ready to be a mother again?”
Sophia’s breath caught in her throat, her heart pounding with joy. “Luca,” she whispered, her eyes shining with tears. “Yes. Yes, I want to have your baby. I want to be a mother again.”
Luca laughed, his smile bright and infectious. “Well then, let’s make that happen,” he said, pulling her closer. “We’ve got a lifetime of love ahead of us, Sophia. Let’s fill it with laughter and joy, with our children and Leo. Let’s make our family complete.”
Sophia smiled, her heart overflowing with happiness. “Yes, Luca,” she murmured, her fingers brushing against his cheek.
As they lay together in each other’s arms, they could feel the warmth of the future spreading around them, enveloping them in a blanket of love and contentment.
For Sophia, the years of darkness and danger were a distant memory, a faded dream. She had found her home, her family, her love. She had found the light.
And Luca, for his part, had found the strength and courage to stand up for what was right, to protect those he loved. He had found his purpose, his place in the world.
After three weeks Sophia bought a pregnancy test and she it tested positive. She told Luca and Leo that she is expecting another baby and their boy knew no bound.
One month later, Luca, Leo, and Sophia stood in the grand foyer of the governor’s mansion after they received an invitation letter from the governor, their eyes filled with a mixture of gratitude and humility.
The governor, his eyes glistening with tears, stepped forward, his hands extended in a gesture of gratitude. “Luca, Sophia, Leo,” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “Words cannot express my gratitude for what you did for me, for my daughter. You saved her life, you gave me back my world.”
The governor turned to the camera, his face solemn and determined.
“Today, I am stepping down from my position as governor,” the governor announced, his voice resolute. “I have decided to appoint Luca Giovanni and Sophia as my successors, effective immediately. I have also decided to award Luca Rossi with ten estates and fifty billion dollars, in recognition of his bravery and selflessness.”
Luca and Sophia exchanged a look of surprise, their eyes wide and sparkling with wonder.
“But that’s not all,” the governor continued, his voice filling with pride.
“Leo,” the governor said, turning to the loyal hybrid. “For your bravery, your intelligence, your unwavering loyalty, I am appointing you as the chief of the state army. You will be responsible for maintaining the peace and security of this great city, and I know that you will serve with honor and distinction.”
Leo smiled in delight, his eyes shining with pride as he acknowledged the honor with a low bow.
The governor turned to the camera once more, his expression fierce and determined.
“This city has suffered long enough at the hands of corruption and crime,” the governor declared, his voice ringing with authority. “But no more. With these three brave souls at the helm, I know that our city will rise from the ashes, stronger, better, and brighter than ever before.”
The crowd erupted into applause, their cheers and whoops of joy filling the air as the camera panned over the faces of Luca, Sophia, and Leo, their smiles bright and determined as they embraced their new destinies.
The months that followed were a whirlwind of activity, as Luca, Sophia, and Leo settled into their new roles as leaders of the city. Leo’s presence as chief of the army was met with widespread approval, his instincts and intelligence proving invaluable in combating crime and restoring order to the streets. Sophia’s compassion and political savvy earned her the respect and admiration of the citizens, while Luca’s leadership and business acumen helped to revitalize the economy and improve the quality of life for all.
It was clear that a new era had begun, one of hope, of prosperity, of peace.
After months of physical therapy and mental healing, the governor’s daughter, Gabriella, stood tall and determined, a fire burning in her eyes. Leo, sensing the steel in her gaze, approached her tentatively.
“Gabriella,” he said, his voice deep and low. “You’ve been through a lot.”
Gabriella smiled, a flash of her former self returning to her face. “And now, I’m ready to give back. I want to help you, Leo. I want to help this city.”
Leo nodded, his eyes narrowed in admiration. “I’ve been hearing rumors,” he said, his voice grave. “Rumors of a new gang, one more dangerous than any we’ve faced before. They call themselves the ‘Blood Eagles.'”
Gabriella’s expression hardened. “Then it’s time we took them down,” she said, her voice hard as steel. “Leo, I’m ready to fight. I’m ready to take back our city.”
The two began training together, Leo teaching Gabriella the ways of stealth and combat, while she, in turn, revealed secrets of the criminal underworld that she had learned during her captivity. They were a formidable team, their bond growing stronger with each passing day.
“They have a stronghold in the old warehouses near the docks,” Gabriella reported, her voice hushed. “It’s heavily guarded, but I’ve identified a weakness in their defenses.”
Leo nodded, his eyes narrowing with determination.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the city, Leo and Gabriella approached the warehouse, their hearts beating in time with their footsteps.
They crept through the shadows, their movements silent and precise, until they reached the weak point in the defenses. Leo flashed a signal to Gabriella, his eyes glinting with excitement.
With a single, fluid motion, she threw a smoke bomb into the center of the compound, sending the guards into a frenzy.
Leo seized the moment, rushing into the compound with a fierce growl, his fangs bared and his claws extended. Gabriella followed close behind, her handgun drawn and ready.
The chaos was absolute, the Blood Eagles scrambling to regain control of the situation as Leo tore through the ranks, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. Gabriella picked off the stragglers with expert marksmanship, her shots cold and calculated.
“They’re falling back!” Leo growled, his eyes flashing with adrenaline. “They’re heading for the roof!
Gabriella nodded, her mind racing as she reloaded her gun. “Let’s cut them off,” she said, her voice low and urgent. “I know a way to the roof.”
Together, they raced through the maze-like corridors of the warehouse, their footsteps echoing against the walls. They could hear the shouts and footsteps of the Blood Eagles above them, growing closer with every passing second.
“Here!” Gabriella gasped, wrenching open a hidden door. “This leads to the roof.”
Leo and Gabriella burst onto the roof, their weapons drawn and their eyes scanning for threats. But they had underestimated the cunning of the Blood Eagles.
“Too late,” snarled a deep, gravelly voice. “You should have stayed away from our business, mutt.”
Leo and Gabriella whipped around, only to find themselves face-to-face with a towering man, his shoulders broad and his eyes cold as steel.
“Luigi,” Gabriella spat, her voice venomous. “You traitor.
Luigi smiled, his teeth gleaming in the moonlight. “Oh, Gabriella,” he drawled, his voice mocking. “Don’t be so bitter. Your father was weak. The Blood Eagles are the future of this city.”
Leo snarled, lunging forward to attack Luigi, but the Blood Eagle leader was quicker, sidestepping the assault and unleashing a flurry of blows that sent Leo crashing to the ground.
Gabriella roared with rage, firing her gun at Luigi, but he was already gone, disappearing into the shadows.
Gabriella cursed, dropping to her knees beside Leo’s prone form. “Leo,” she gasped, her hands shaking as she checked him for injuries. “Leo, are you okay?”
Leo’s eyes fluttered open, and he groaned, his voice weak. “I’ll live,” he rasped. “We have to get out of here. The Blood Eagles will be back.”
Gabriella nodded, her mind already racing ahead.
As the sirens of approaching police cars echoed in the distance, Gabriella helped Leo to his feet, her arm draped protectively around his shoulders. “We have to move quickly,” she muttered. “The police will seal off the area soon.”
Together, they made their way back through the warehouse, their footsteps echoing in the silence. But as they reached the exit, they heard a sharp click and whirled around to find Luigi standing behind them, his eyes narrowed and his gun leveled at their chests.
“Going somewhere?” he sneered.
Before Luigi could pull the trigger, Leo lunged forward, his teeth sinking into the man’s arm. Luigi cried out in pain, his gun clattering to the floor as he struggled to dislodge Leo’s teeth from his flesh.
“Run!” Leo snarled, the words muffled by his grip.
Gabriella didn’t hesitate, her hand closing around the discarded gun as she bolted for the exit, her heart pounding in her chest. But Luigi wasn’t finished yet.
Gabriella’s eyes widened as she heard Luigi’s footsteps pounding after her, his breathing ragged and furious. She spun around, raising the gun and firing blindly into the shadows, the gunshots echoing through the empty warehouse.
Luigi staggered back, his hands grasping at his chest as he collapsed to the ground, blood seeping through his fingers. Gabriella’s breath caught in her throat, her hand trembling as she realized what she had done.
“I had no choice,” she whispered, her voice shaking. “I had to protect Leo, protect us.
“You did what you had to do, Gabriella,” Leo rumbled, limping towards her, his voice soft and reassuring. “You saved us both.”
Gabriella nodded, her lips trembling as she holstered the gun. “We have to get out of here before the police arrive,” she said, her mind racing. “But what about Luigi?”
Leo gave her a sad, knowing look. “Leave him,” he murmured, his voice heavy with understanding.
Gabriella nodded, her heart heavy as she turned away from the man who had once been their friend, their ally. She took Leo’s hand, squeezing it gently as they made their way out of the warehouse, their bodies bathed in the harsh glow of police lights as they slipped into the shadows.
The weeks that followed were tense and dangerous, the city seething with anger as the Blood Eagles swore revenge on Sophia, Luca, and Leo. Sophia and Luca took precautions, increasing security around the estate and hiring extra guards to protect their family.
As the days passed, the police mounted a relentless hunt for the remaining Blood Eagles, their crackdown swift and decisive. One by one, the members of the gang were brought to justice, their reign of terror over the city coming to an end.
At last, the city breathed a collective sigh of relief as the Blood Eagles were finally dismantled, the streets returning to a peaceful calm. Sophia, Luca, and Leo were hailed as heroes, their bravery and selflessness praised by citizens and officials alike.
“It’s finally over,” Sophia whispered, her fingers entwined with Luca’
“Yes, my love,” Luca murmured, his eyes filled with wonder as he looked at Sophia. “The city is safe. Our family is safe. We can finally start our life together, free of danger and darkness.”
Sophia smiled, her eyes shining with love. “And Leo will always be by our side,” she said, her voice choked with emotion as she glanced down at the hybrid. “Our faithful guardian.”
As the months passed, Sophia and Luca began to plan their wedding, a celebration of their love and a symbol of their triumph over adversity.
With the date of their wedding fast approaching, Sophia and Luca found themselves lost in the flurry of preparations. From floral arrangements to catering to the endless fittings for their wedding attire, the two were swept up in a whirlwind of decisions and details.
One afternoon, they decided to visit the bridal shop where Sophia had chosen her gown. As they entered, Sophia’s eyes sparkled with anticipation, her smile radiant as she greeted the saleswoman.
“We’re here to try on the gown,” she announced, her voice filled with excitement.
