Sophia waited until she was alone in her bedroom to pull out her phone, her fingers tapping out a quick message:
“Dino is watching me. Be careful.”
She pressed send, a knot of anxiety forming in her stomach. She knew that her text was risky, that she was putting herself in danger. But she had to warn Leo, had to protect him.
Leo’s reply was almost instantaneous: “Understood. Be careful yourself. We’re getting close.”
Sophia drew a deep breath, her eyes fixed on the glowing screen of her phone. She knew that the stakes were high, that one misstep could mean disaster. But she had come this far, had committed herself to this dangerous mission. She couldn’t turn back now.
Dino, meanwhile, was becoming increasingly suspicious. He noticed the secretive way Sophia was behaving, the furtive glances she cast over her shoulder. He sensed that she was hiding something, that she was not the woman she pretended to be.
As hard as Dino tried, he saw nothing out of the ordinary. Sophia was careful to conceal her deception, her movements calculated and measured. She never left a trail, never dropped a clue that could lead him to the truth.
Dino’s frustration grew, his anger simmering just beneath the surface. He knew that Sophia was hiding something, that she was up to no good. But without evidence, he could do nothing but wait, and watch, and hope that eventually she would slip up.
Sophia returned to her bed feeling drowsy, when she heard someone entering her bedroom.
“Who is there?” Sophia asked curiously, “Oh my love. it’s me Vito. I need you badly baby” Vito said smirking.
Sophia’s heart was racing, every nerve in her body screaming for her to run. But she knew she couldn’t. She had to stay, to play the part of Vito’s loyal wife, at least for now.
“Don’t worry,” she whispered, leaning in to kiss him softly. “We have all the time in the world.”
Vito’s eyes searched hers, his expression unreadable. “But I want you now, Sophia,” he said, his voice low and insistent.
Sophia suppressed a shudder, her fingers tracing the lines of his face. “Vito,” she whispered, her tone filled with longing. “You know I want to. But we’ll have plenty of time for that once our mission is complete.”
Vito’s hands tightened around her waist, his gaze intensifying. “What if I don’t want to wait?” he growled, his voice thick with desire.
Sophia forced a smile, her words sweet and seductive. “Oh, you will, Vito.
Vito’s hands slid down to her hips, his gaze hardening. “Sophia,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “I don’t like being told no.”
Sophia swallowed, her pulse racing. “And I don’t like being questioned,” she replied, her voice icy. “We’ve got a job to do, remember?”
Vito’s eyes flashed, his anger palpable. “I’m the boss, Sophia.
“Yes, you’re the boss, Vito,” Sophia replied, her voice dripping with insincerity. “But even bosses need to be patient sometimes.”
Vito growled, his hands tightening around her waist. “Patience isn’t my strong suit, Sophia.”
Sophia let out a soft chuckle, her lips brushing his ear. “Well then, Vito, you better learn some patience.
Vito’s eyes narrowed, his expression filled with frustration. “You’re playing a dangerous game, Sophia,” he said, his voice low and threatening.
“Aren’t we all playing dangerous games, Vito?” Sophia replied, her voice as sweet as poison. “That’s the Mafia way, isn’t it?”
Vito’s grip on her waist tightened, his fingers digging into her flesh. “Be careful, Sophia. You might not like what happens if you push me too far.
Sophia’s eyes flashed, her own anger simmering just beneath the surface. “Oh, and what would you do, Vito?” she challenged, her words laced with venom. “Hurt me? Kill me?”
Vito’s face twisted into a sneer. “You’re not as untouchable as you think you are, Sophia. Don’t forget that.”
Sophia smirked, her smile mocking. “Oh, I know that, Vito.
Sophia’s expression softened, the false bravado melting away like mist in the sunlight. “You’re right, Vito. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to push you.”
Vito’s grip on her waist loosened slightly, his expression still guarded. “Sophia,” he said, his voice filled with warning. “You need to remember who you’re dealing with.”
Sophia’s eyes dropped, her tone contrite. “I know, Vito.
“Good,” Vito said, his tone still sharp. “And don’t forget, Sophia. I expect your loyalty.”
Sophia nodded, her voice small and quiet. “You have it, Vito. You have my loyalty.”
Vito’s grip loosened further, his fingers trailing up her arm. “And what else do you have to give me, Sophia?”
Sophia’s eyes flicked up to meet Vito’s gaze, her voice low and seductive. “I’m not going to deny you forever, Vito. But I need some time.”
Vito’s eyes narrowed, his expression guarded. “And how long will that be?”
Sophia bit her lip, a blush spreading across her cheeks. “A week,” she whispered, her voice husky. “Once the Luca situation is…resolved.”
Vito’s eyes gleamed with hunger, his hands roaming further up Sophia’s body. “A week,” he repeated, his voice rough with desire. “That’s a long time, Sophia.”
Sophia shivered, her breath coming in quick, shallow gasps. “I know, Vito. But it will be worth the wait.”
Vito leaned in, his lips brushing against her ear. “Tell me, Sophia,” he breathed, his voice heavy with lust.
Sophia’s heart raced, her pulse pounding in her ears as Vito’s lips traced a fiery path down her neck. “Tell you what?” she murmured, her voice catching in her throat.
“Tell me how you’re going to make it worth the wait,” Vito growled, his voice low and dangerous.
Sophia bit her lip, her words catching in her throat. “I…” she began, her voice quivering with fear.
Sophia’s eyes fluttered shut, her expression a careful blend of seduction and disinterest. “I’ll make it worth the wait, Vito,” she whispered, her voice lilting with feigned desire. “When I’m ready, you won’t be able to keep your hands off me.”
Vito growled, his hands tightening on Sophia’s waist, the heat of his body pressing against her. “Damn straight, Sophia,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “You better be ready soon.
Goodnight my love”
While Sophia played her dangerous game with Vito, Luca was hidden away, his heart heavy with worry for his beloved Sophia and their twins. The days stretched out like an endless nightmare, each hour dragging on with agonizing slowness.
He paced the small room, his mind racing with fear and doubt. Sophia had left him to meet his rival and yet, he couldn’t shake the terror that something might go wrong, that Sophia might not be able to keep her cover.
Luca’s pacing slowed, his steps hesitant and unsure. He knew he had to trust Sophia, but the doubts lingered, gnawing at his soul like a hungry beast.
He sank onto the edge of the bed, his hands running through his hair in frustration. “Sophia,” he murmured, his voice filled with longing and sorrow. “Please, be safe.”
The silence of the room was his only answer.
In the stillness of the night, Luca’s thoughts turned to the twins. He pictured their small faces, their innocent smiles, their laughter filling the air. And he wondered how he would explain their mother’s absence, how he would protect them from the harsh reality of the Mafia world.
With a heavy sigh, Luca closed his eyes, exhaustion washing over him like a wave. He needed rest, needed to clear his mind, even if only for a few hours.
