While the tourist inserted the bobby pin into the lock, Sofia anxiously held her breath, hoping the lock would open.
Following a brief period of tension, a clicking sound was heard and the window opened by swinging.
“It’s unlocked,” whispered the tourist, his tone quiet and menacing. “Let’s go.”
Sofia exited through the window, feeling her heart pounding as she descended to the ground.
As the tourist exited the vehicle, she breathed deeply, feeling fearful and unsure.
“Where should we go next?” she inquired, her voice shaking.
While watching in distress, Sophia heard gunshots and witnessed the tourist man’s body on the ground surrounded by his blood.
While witnessing the tourist fall to the ground with blood coming from his wounds, Sophia was startled to hear a voice she recognized behind her.
“Do you believe you can escape from Don Giovanni?” Luca lit up a cigarette as he angrily approached her closely. Sophia felt her heart racing in her chest when she discovered that she had been deceived.
“I apologize,” she murmured, tears running down her face. “I’m begging you to trust me.”
Luca looked disdainfully at her, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth while he shook his head.
“Do you expect me to trust you?” Luca mocked, moving closer to Sophia. “You are dishonest and disloyal.”
Sophia nodded her head, her vision blurred by tears.
“Kindly,” she implored. I didn’t want to be involved in this. I had no choice but to do it.
Luca pulled on his cigarette for a long time, keeping his eyes fixed on Sophia’s face without wavering.
“You’re in deep trouble now,” he murmured, his voice dark and menacing. “And you will be held accountable for your actions.”
Luca quickly grabbed the diamond from Sophia’s hand, his facial expression appearing ominous and threatening.
“He said the diamond belongs to the Don and put it in his pocket.” “And you will bring me to him immediately.”
Sophia’s heart dropped as she understood that there was no way out.
“Please,” she murmured, her voice quivering with fright. I am willing to do everything. Simply refrain from causing me pain.
Luca chuckled, his laughter chilling and malevolent.
“Do not fret,” he assured, his voice quiet and menacing.
Luca reassured Sophia that she wouldn’t get hurt, his facial expression becoming more serious as he held onto her arm. “At the moment, not yet.”
Sophia trembled as Luca guided her down the dimly-lit streets, his hold on her arm growing tighter with each step.
As they neared the Don’s estate, Sophia could feel her heart thumping in her chest. She was aware that she was approaching inevitable demise.
Ascending the stairs to the mansion, Sophia could discern voices emanating from within.
“What is going on?” she murmured, her voice shaking with fright.
Luca didn’t respond to Sophia’s question, his face maintaining a serious expression as he guided her into the mansion.
In the room, the Mafia members filled the space, gathered around the Don who sat in a tall chair, his demeanor icy and menacing.
Upon Sophia and Luca’s arrival, the room became quiet. The Don’s gaze became focused as he observed Sophia, his face growing darker.
“I notice that you have delivered the betrayer to me,” he stated, his voice soft and menacing. “What is your response?”
Sophia shook with fear while facing the Don, her thoughts racing to find words to speak.
“I will rephrase the given text while maintaining the original input language and word count.” “I didn’t intend to deceive you,” she stuttered, her voice quivering with terror. “I was compelled to”
The Don squinted, his face becoming more stern as he pondered Sophia’s words.
“Do you really think I would believe that?” he inquired, speaking in a low and menacing tone. “You are betraying us, and you will face the consequences.”
As the Don’s men advanced towards Sophia, she shut her eyes, hoping for a miracle.
The Don’s henchmen seized Sophia’s arms, dragging her towards him as the Don stood up from his seat.
“He said you would be brought to the basement, his voice icy and menacing.” “You will face consequences for your actions there.”
Sophia fought against the henchmen’s hold, her heart racing in terror as she was pulled towards the exit.
Sophia’s thoughts raced as she went down the stairs to the cellar. She was aware that there was no way to escape, no exit from this terrible situation.
Thrown into the dark, musty cellar by the henchmen, Sophia struggled to stand, her eyes slowly adapting to the faint light.
The Don’s cold and dangerous voice reverberated in the room.
“Here is where you will be abandoned to decay,” he stated, with his voice menacing and hushed. “You will never experience daylight again.”
Sophia’s head shook as tears streamed down her face, causing her to fall to the ground.
“Please,” she murmured, her voice trembling with terror. “I urge you to trust me, please.” “I did not do it.”
The Don’s expression hardened as he instructed the henchmen to depart.
After the door shut, Sophia realized the gravity of her situation.
Alone and surrounded by darkness, she had no chance of getting out.
As time went by, Sophia’s thoughts swiftly shifted to Luca.
What was the reason for his betrayal of her? What made him pick the Don instead of her?
Throughout the night, Sophia drifted into a restless slumber, her dreams filled with haunting images.
Luca, belonging to the Don, of the diamond.
Upon waking up, Sophia discovered she was by herself in the dim, wet cellar, her thoughts still overwhelmed by the occurrences of the night before.
She was unsure of the duration of her stay, but understood she couldn’t remain in the cellar indefinitely.
She needed to discover an exit.
While looking through the cellar, she came across a discarded rusty pipe on the ground.
Taking hold of the pipe, Sophia started chiseling away at the stone wall with the goal of discovering a way to break free.
As the sun started to go down, Sophia was still working on the stone wall with the old pipe. The gap was getting bigger, yet it remained too small to pass through.
Filled with desperation and fatigue, Sophia collapsed to the ground, shutting her eyes as her thoughts raced with fear and uncertainty.
All of a sudden, she caught the sound of footsteps getting closer from the outside of the cellar.
Sophia became immobile, her heart beating rapidly as the sound of footsteps approached nearer.
Upon the creaking open of the cellar door, she observed the outline of a man positioned in the doorway.
“Sofia,” the man whispered, his voice filled with menace. I was aware that you wouldn’t survive for a long time in that place.
Sofia identified Luca as he emerged into the light, his expression cold and unyielding.
“Why are you here?” she inquired, her voice filled with anxiety.
Luca remained silent, opting to reach for her arm instead of responding.
