Toby Ramsey slowly approached the Mercedes-Benz, his pace not fast but exuding a suppressed aura that made Tia feel uneasy.
It felt as if a wild beast was approaching silently, dangerous yet silent.
Tia’s breathing became heavy, a needle-like discomfort causing her to instinctively clench her fists, only to quickly relax her grip.
This wasn’t the place to make a move. It seemed there was no reason to do so, and the other party was much stronger than her. If she were to act, she would most likely end up at a disadvantage.
As these thoughts raced through her mind, Darnell promptly turned off the laptop and placed it in a special box. He even sprayed some perfume, filling the car with a pleasant fragrance.
Tia regained some clarity and stood up, intending to rush to the driver’s seat. At this moment, leaving in the car was the only way out.
“Driving away would only confirm our suspicions, wouldn’t it?”
Darnell shook his head to stop her actions and then grabbed Tia’s wrist, pulling her towards his chest. Her legs ended up on Darnell’s thighs in a rather ambiguous position.
Tia’s body trembled as an indescribable sensation spread through her. It was like the feeling she had when she first rode on a motorcycle.
“What are you planning?”
Darnell’s masculine aura washed over Tia like waves, creating ripples in her heart.
The woman felt a sense of panic.
Darnell didn’t answer but instead skillfully unbuttoned Tia’s outer garment, undoing two buttons on her clothes.
Her fair chest became visible, exuding an irresistible allure.
Tia’s body trembled. “You bastard, what are you doing-”
Before she could finish speaking, Darnell kissed her forcefully, their bodies instantly pressing against each other.
“Bang!”
Almost at the same moment, the car door was suddenly opened. The beast-like Toby Ramsey appeared before Tia’s eyes.
He was within arm’s reach.
Tia’s attention was focused on Darnell’s face when she suddenly saw a bald man appear. She screamed in fear.
“Ah-”
The high-decibel sound pierced their eardrums, interrupting Darnell’s kiss and startling Toby Ramsey. His head hit the car door with a loud thud.
Then he bit his lip and pulled his head back. Tia, being a clever woman, already understood Darnell’s intentions and shouted angrily, “Who are you? Why did you open our car door?”
Tia unleashed a barrage of insults. “Are you blind? You despicable, shameless, and disgusting man!”
Tia’s fear and anger made her emotions all the more convincing. “What the hell is wrong with you? Get the hell out of here.”
Her fear stemmed from Toby Ramsey’s intimidating presence, while her anger was fueled by the embarrassment of being caught in disarray.
Toby Ramsey dispelled his previous vigilance and bowed slightly, saying, “I’m sorry.”
He apologized politely and closed the car door for both of them. Then he turned his head towards his two subordinates who were approaching and signaled that they could go back.
As they moved away from the car, Tia breathed a sigh of relief. She then began pounding Darnell’s back.
“You scoundrel! You pervert! Taking advantage of me like that. Do you want to die?”
Being kissed and seen like that caused Tia to lose many firsts that she had preserved until now.
While pounding Darnell’s body and struggling to get up from him, she threatened, “I’ll castrate you later.”
Her killing intent filled the air.
“Mmm!”
Before Tia could get up, Darnell tightened his hold on her, pressing her soft body against him, his right hand instinctively exploring her waist and back.
At that very moment, Tia saw Toby Ramsey swiftly return, yanking open the car door with alarming speed.
His bald head was now just inches away, his eyes gleaming with suspicion.
“You-”
Tia trembled, shocked by Toby Ramsey’s paranoia.
“Get lost!”
Before she could even scream, Darnell sprayed perfume right into Toby Ramsey’s eyes. Toby Ramsey let out a muffled grunt as he recoiled.
Darnell retaliated by smashing the perfume bottle against Toby Ramsey’s head. “What are you staring at? Never seen a couple in a car before?”
The impact drew a trickle of blood, and the sting of the perfume only added to the pain.
Without pausing, Darnell sprayed more perfume, further blurring Toby Ramsey’s vision, then wrapped his arms around Tia.
With his face pressed close to Tia’s, his features contorted to conceal his identity, he muttered, “You lecherous old man, just get lost.”
He gave Tia a playful squeeze, prompting her to shout, “Get out of here. Hurry up!”
Rubbing his stinging eyes, Toby Ramsey took a step back and politely said, “I’m sorry!” He raised his hand to stop his two angry companions from approaching.
Then he closed the car door again and left quietly, this time truly disappearing into Roberto’s villa.
However, as he stepped from the darkness into the well-lit lobby, Toby Ramsey took a deep breath, his nose twitching like a hound, detecting the scent of the perfume.
Amidst the rich fragrance, he caught a faint, familiar hint of carrots-subtle, yet undeniably present…
After Toby Ramsey left, Tia was still processing his unexpected return, which had instilled a sense of intimidation in her. He was too cunning.
The car fell into silence for a long while until Tia finally realized the heat radiating from her chest. She looked down to see she was sitting on Darnell’s lap, their bodies pressed closely together, the solid warmth spreading through her.
Darnell, with his head lowered, was staring at her intently.
The warm breath from him enveloped her.
Tia, furious, snapped, “Have you seen enough?”
Darnell instinctively replied, “Not enough… Uh, I mean, yes, I’ve seen enough.” He then cleared his throat, “I wasn’t looking at anything, just zoning out.”
“Let go of me.”
Tia pushed Darnell’s hands away. “How dare you take advantage of me?”
Darnell feigned innocence. “I wasn’t taking advantage of you. I was just trying to fend off those Baycliff people with our little act.”
“Are you trying to get yourself killed?”
Tia slapped Darnell again, then, feeling embarrassed and angry, sat up and scooted to the other side of the seat to straighten her clothes, while Darnell rubbed his head and sat up as well.
Her gaze shifted from Darnell to Roberto’s villa, where several bodyguards and a couple of Baycliff men were keeping watch in the garden.
But Toby Ramsey and a Baycliff woman were nowhere to be seen.
Darnell squinted slightly. He hadn’t expected Toby Ramsey to show up in Whiteville. Was it for the Utopia, or was it to seek revenge on Aryan Veale?
Regardless of the reason, Darnell knew he would inevitably cross paths with him-an interesting, yet dangerous opponent.
“Darnell, help me with this button.”
As Darnell was lost in thought, Tia suddenly hesitated and snapped, “You loosened my button.”
Darnell rolled up his sleeves. “Just push your shirt up a bit so I can fasten it.”
Tia saw right through Darnell’s intentions. “You have five seconds. If you can’t fasten it, I’ll kick you out.”
“Click!”
Darnell managed to fasten it in an instant.
Tia smirked and then quickly adjusted her clothes, turning back to glance at Roberto’s villa, sighing, “Roberto has guests tonight. It looks like we won’t get to see the good show after all.”
Darnell glanced at his watch. “Let’s wait a bit longer. Maybe the show will still go on.”
Having come this far, Darnell felt it would be a shame not to witness a thrilling spectacle.
Tia suddenly recalled something. “Do you know that guy from earlier?”
Darnell didn’t hide the truth. “I know him. His hair and eyebrows are what I burned.”
Tia was taken aback. “You burned him?”
Darnell shrugged. “Yep, I was performing a fire-breathing act, and he got too close, resulting in that mess.”
“So I can’t let him recognize me, or he’ll come after me like a rabid dog.”
Tia’s gaze deepened. “He’s powerful and dangerous, yet you’ve dealt with him before. What kind of person were you back then?”
Darnell replied seriously, “A pioneer.”
“What does that mean?”
“A farmer.”
