Johnny remained silent for a long time.
Tilda laughed, “Are you scared now? So, don’t bother me anymore.”
She shook off Johnny’s hand and left the private room.
After taking a few steps, she saw Rosalind and Ulric approaching.
When Rosalind saw Tilda’s expression, she already understood everything. She turned her head slightly towards Ulric and said, “I’ll talk to Tilda. You take the kids inside first.”
Ulric nodded in understanding. “Alright.”
Tilda approached, and Rosalind reached out to grab her.
“Are you leaving?”
“Yeah, I can’t sit with Johnny anymore.” Tilda felt her eyes dry, but she had no intention of crying.
Johnny didn’t deserve her tears.
“I’ll take you back.” Rosalind realized that Tilda didn’t want to elaborate, so she didn’t push further. “To your parents’ place or Malcolm’s?”
“You go inside. Don’t worry about me! I’ll just take a taxi back to save you the trouble of going back and forth. You just got off the plane and must be tired.” Tilda patted her shoulder and smiled. “Rosalind, I’m fine. I just simply dislike Johnny! Don’t think too much.”
“You two…”
“I slept with him two times. They’re not exactly fond memories. I’ll just consider it a new experience, a taste of what a handsome man is like!” Tilda continued to smile, her carefree attitude making it seem as if she didn’t care at all, Seeing her like this, Rosalind felt a bit uneasy.
“Alright, then call me if you need anything! If Johnny bothers you again, let me know.”
Tilda shrugged. “I probably won’t need to.”
Tilda recalled the look of surprise and disbelief on Johnny’s face just moments ago. He didn’t stop her when she left.
He probably felt humiliated.
But what Tilda said was from the heart. She didn’t want to hide her feelings! Being with someone like Johnny, a playboy, her first concern wasn’t about love but whether she could survive after being kicked by him!
If Johnny had decisively agreed just now, then she would have done what she said, to marry him! After all, she had nothing to lose. Even if he cheated on her later on, they could just get divorced and she could still claim a share of his assets. It was better than ending up with nothing and wasting years of her life for someone else’s pleasure.
“What do you mean by that?” Rosalind was confused and didn’t understand why.
Tilda smiled. “Rosalind, there are few men in this world like Ulric. Maybe he’s the last good one out there. Well, perhaps there’s a second one somewhere, but Johnny is definitely not that guy.”
Rosalind fell silent.
“Goodbye, I’ll contact you tomorrow!”
“Okay, bye.”
Rosalind watched Tilda leave and get into a taxi before turning back to the private room.
Inside, Johnny was talking to Jake but seemed distracted.
Ulric glanced at Rosalind and asked, “Did she leave?”
“Yeah.”
Rosalind pulled out a chair and sat down, directing her gaze directly at Johnny.
“Johnny, leave Tilda alone. You’re not right for each other.”
Johnny paused for a moment and tugged at his lips. “Got it.”
Ulric understood what Tilda meant to Rosalind very well. Rosalind had always lacked family affection since she was young, and perhaps Tilda’s love meant more to her than anyone else. In Rosalind’s eyes, Tilda was like family.
Ulric said in a deep voice, “Turn the page on this one, Johnny.”
“Yeah,” Johnny responded gloomily, clearly not in a good mood.
Actually, Rosalind could tell that Johnny liked Tilda. However, dating and marriage were two entirely different things. Maybe Tilda could have a romantic relationship with Johnny, but the prospect of them actually getting married seemed highly unlikely.
