Chapter 2012: Encounter with the Monk

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2025-2-18

Facing the onslaught of the beasts, even a Spirit Saint could fall.
During his flight, Leo encountered several waves of flying beasts, one of which numbered over a thousand.
Fortunately, the strongest among them were only at the Demon Sect level.
With Leo’s current strength, he could easily slay anything below a Demon King.
Thus, any beast that blocked his path was turned into blood and flesh by Leo.
As he neared the center of Starlight Grove, Leo finally stopped the Dragon Sword.
Looking down, the forest below was not dense, with mountains and water, and the scenery was quite pleasant.
Leo decided to train here.
The Dragon Sword descended with Leo to the ground.
After putting away the Dragon Sword, Leo reached into his Storage Sack and pulled out the Spirit Scroll that recorded the Dragon Elephant Divine Art.
Using his spiritual sense, Leo began to comprehend the Dragon Elephant Sky Howl Art.
Once he finished comprehending, Leo formed hand seals, guiding his spiritual energy through his meridians, finally gathering it in his throat.
The gathering of spiritual energy caused Leo’s throat to swell, and his face turned red.
Upon closer inspection, one could see dragon and elephant shadows faintly appearing in Leo’s pupils.
In the next moment, Leo’s throat opened, and a deafening dragon’s roar mixed with an elephant’s trumpet erupted from his mouth.
An invisible wave of spiritual energy spread out instantly, shattering all flowers and grass within tens of meters.
Boom!
Several tall and sturdy trees exploded almost simultaneously, turning into a shower of wood chips.
The area within tens of meters around Leo became clear and empty.
“The power is indeed not weak!” A look of surprise appeared on Leo’s face.
For a first attempt, such power was indeed surprising and delightful.
If he could fully unleash the Dragon Elephant Sky Howl Art, its power would be terrifying.
Excitement flickered in Leo’s eyes as he formed hand seals again.
The second dragon’s roar mixed with an elephant’s trumpet echoed through the forest.
This time, the technique was smoother, and the sound carried a hint of majesty and dominance.
Again!
After performing the Dragon Elephant Sky Howl Art for the fourth time, a burning pain arose in Leo’s throat.
Leo quickly took out a prepared spiritual liquid from his Storage Sack and drank it.
The burning pain in his throat immediately lessened after drinking the spiritual liquid.
Although the Dragon Elephant Sky Howl Art was powerful, it was very taxing on the throat and consumed a lot of spiritual energy.
After just four uses of the Dragon Elephant Sky Howl Art, Leo had used up nearly half of his spiritual energy.
After consuming the spiritual liquid, Leo sat cross-legged and took out a High-Quality Spirit Stone to restore his spiritual energy.
A quarter of an hour later, Leo stood up again.
As he formed seals with his fingers, spiritual energy gathered in his throat.
The dragon’s roar mixed with an elephant’s trumpet echoed through the forest like thunder once more.
Until nightfall, the sound of dragon roars mixed with elephant howls continued to resound.
Each roar was stronger than the last.
In the distance, some fierce beast roars paled in comparison to the dragon roars mixed with elephant howls.
When Leo’s throat hurt, he drank spiritual liquid to soothe it.
When his spiritual energy ran out, he used Spirit Stones and practiced Nine Transformations of the Stars to recover it.
He continued this cycle of training until the afternoon of the next day.
The saying “Heaven rewards diligent people” proved true; the results of hard training were remarkable and surprising.
Within a kilometer radius around Leo, everything had turned to dust, including stones.
From above, one would see that Starlight Grove had a bald patch that resembled an oily middle-aged man’s bald spot.
This sonic technique, if suddenly unleashed in battle, could catch even a peak-level Spirit Saint off guard.
Leo stretched lazily, his bones cracking audibly.
The opening of Star Moon Lake Pill Sovereign Island was tomorrow. Leo looked at the setting sun and prepared to leave.
As he turned to leave, his eyes narrowed.
In the distant forest sky ahead, a moon-white figure was rapidly fleeing towards him.
Behind it were five black shadows in hot pursuit.
It was clear that five people were in hot pursuit of one.
Leo frowned and released his spiritual sense.
Through his spiritual sense, Leo detected a unique Buddhist Cultivation aura from the moon-white figure.
The five pursuers emitted an evil aura.
“Could they be from Diamond Fortress?” Leo wondered.
As far as Leo knew, there were three famous spiritual cultivation sects near the capital, one of which was Diamond Fortress.
Seeing the moon-white figure heading straight for him, Leo snorted coldly.
That guy must have noticed Leo’s presence and was leading his pursuers towards him for a chance to escape.
Leo had no time for such matters. He summoned the Dragon Sword and prepared to leave.
But then he paused because he saw the faces of those approaching him.
To be precise, there were two people in the moon-white figure: a young monk and an old monk.
The young monk had a pair of white wings like those of a Pegasus on his back.
The young monk’s face was pale with blood at the corners of his mouth. Though his breath was unsteady, he still desperately flapped his white wings.
Leo had seen these white wings, which belonged to a Gold Horned Kirin Leopard, before.
Leo also recognized the young monk; it was Brooks, who had once teamed up with him to hunt the Gold Horned Kirin Leopard.
Brooks was carrying an elderly white-browed monk in his arms.
The old monk’s breath was weak, with strange black energy swirling around his forehead. His pale face was full of pain, and his moon-white robe was stained with blood at the chest.
Leo felt conflicted.
Brooks was a decent person. Ignoring him felt wrong. But helping him would mean a big fight and possibly making an enemy of a powerful sect again.
“Two baldies trying to steal Mystic Clearfruit from me? Accept your fate!” A sinister voice echoed through the forest.
Brooks could only flap his wings harder in desperation.
As Leo hesitated, Brooks closed the distance to three hundred meters.
“Senior! Please save me and my uncle! Diamond Fortress owes you a favor! We will reward you handsomely!” Brooks shouted towards Leo like he had found a lifeline.
