Priya motivated herself, sitting inside the car, with Daisy beside her.
“Child, what are you thinking? I’ve noticed you all morning. Is there something going on in your head?” Daisy asked, seeing Priya lost in thought again.
Of course, she can understand it. Marriage is no joke, especially one forced upon her. Even in the room while getting ready, Priya was lost in thought.
Daisy tried to cheer her up, but now Priya looks deeply troubled, which is concerning.
Priya looked at Daisy, who had concern in her eyes. “I’m just not fine. Trying to pick myself up, don’t know how fine I am,” she said, looking pale.
She couldn’t see any opportunity. How would she make one? Once she reaches court, it’s impossible to escape.
She could try running away from the house, but that would be after she’s legally married, which she doesn’t want. Priyank’s house is secured with cameras, he mentioned yesterday. So it’s not safe either.
Only during this ride does she have an opportunity, but she doesn’t know how to make a way.
It all seems impossible.
“Give it time, sweetheart. I know it’s not normal, and I don’t know how to console you, but give it a chance, just give it,” Daisy spoke softly. She could see how hard it is.
Everything is snatched from Priya because of these things, and it tastes bitter when she thinks about giving a chance.
But she can’t do anything other than make her understand. If she tries to cross Priyank, he’s too dangerous to handle.
As his mom, she sometimes gets scared, even though she knows he won’t hurt her. There’s an aura around her son, which she can’t understand.
“He is way too much in that imagination,” she muttered to herself.
“Aunty, I need to pee. Can we stop the car somewhere?” Priya gulped, not wanting to miss this chance. She knows she can use this opportunity, and it’s the only one. There won’t be another chance to outsmart someone like Priyank.
“What?” Daisy’s confusion was evident in her tone.
“Yes, Aunty, I really need to go,” Priya replied urgently.
“How will you manage? The dress is too heavy. If you can hold it until we reach the court, it’ll be better. What do you think?” Daisy’s concern was palpable.
“I can’t hold it, Aunty,” Priya confessed, feeling the pressure mounting.
Daisy sighed, realising Priya’s urgency. She glanced at Priya’s anxious face and made a quick decision.
“Alright, we’ll stop,” Daisy said, her voice filled with empathy. “There’s a restroom over there.”
“Thanks Aunty,” Priya smiled.
Daisy nodded her head. ” Stop the car at some washroom.”
Relief washed over Priya as Driver pulled into the gas station.
“Do you need help? The dress is too heavy to pee in,” Daisy asked, not wanting to leave Priya alone. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust Priya; her heart just didn’t feel right.
She couldn’t understand why she felt so agitated and concerned.
“No, it’s fine, Aunty. I can manage on my own. I don’t need help,” Priya said, opening the door and gathering her dress in her arms.
That’s why she didn’t want an expensive dress. This one wasn’t too big, making it easier for her to handle. She could manage herself. The other dresses she tried before would have been much more difficult.
Priya hurried into the gas station, her heart racing with nervous energy. She glanced around, searching for the restroom sign. As she entered, she felt a wave of relief wash over her.
Inside the stall, she took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves.
She looked at herself in the mirror, then noticed the fire extinguisher nearby. She grabbed it and examined the window, seeing it as her escape route. But first, she had to deal with her dress.
Looking down at her gown, she grabbed it and tore it with all her strength, ripping it up to her thighs. Once the lower part was torn off, she discarded it and gripped the fire extinguisher tightly with both hands, feeling its weight.
Her heart raced with adrenaline as she prepared herself for what lay ahead.
‘Do it, this is the only way,’
With a determined breath, she swung the fire extinguisher at the window, shattering it into pieces. The sound of glass breaking echoed in the small restroom.
Priya quickly stood up on the stool placed, and glanced outside, making sure no one had noticed. Seeing the coast clear, she climbed through the broken window, feeling a mix of fear and panic.
Once outside, she landed on the ground with a thud. Ignoring the sharp pain in her feet, and the cuts she got in her hands, she sprinted towards the alley, not even knowing where she was going, her heart pounding in her chest.
For her, this was the end of the world. The torn dress fluttered around her, her hands stained with blood, her face flushed with adrenaline, her feet throbbing with pain. But she pushed on, ignoring it all.
This was her one shot, and she wasn’t going to let it slip away. The consequences of getting caught were too dire to imagine. Maybe he’d take her life, or perhaps he’d make her suffer in ways she couldn’t fathom.
Priyank’s face clouded her mind, fueling her determination even more.
She had to keep moving, no matter what.
With each step, Priya’s breaths became more laboured, her heart pounding in her chest. She could feel the weight of the world pressing down on her, but she refused to give up.
As she turned a corner, she saw a narrow alleyway ahead. Without hesitating, she darted into it, her eyes scanning for any signs, from where she can exist this place.
The alley was dimly lit, with garbage strewn across the ground. Priya’s feet stumbled over debris, but she kept going, driven by sheer desperation.
Finally, she reached the end of the alley, where a small gate blocked her path. With trembling hands, she pushed it open and stepped out onto the deserted street beyond.
For a moment, she stood there, panting and shaking, the adrenaline still coursing through her veins. But then she forced herself to keep moving, knowing that she couldn’t stop until she was far away from Priyank and his cruel grasp.
