ANASTASIA
Diego was in rage, glaring right at my family.
Father, who got to his feet, froze at the sight of the man he has always hated for long.
He growled at him.
“Alpha Diego?” Linda called in shock, drawing back to meet the others.
My Alpha’s presence brought a disrupt. They were all staring at him in shock.
“Anna, are you okay?” Diego asked, turning around to face me.
Knowing he came here to protect me, I fell weak and rushed into his arms for support. I squeezed him tight, burying myself in hold while glowering at my enemies.
What pains me is the fact that my father rather stands with those monsters than support the one he gave birth to.
The one who did everything he wanted until she was ruined.
“What are you doing here?” Father questioned, dusting Casey and Linda’s hand off his body roughly.
“How did you get into my party, you animal?”
“Your party is that way, old man. You are just outside the hall. This area isn’t part of the money you paid, so keep that question to yourself,” Diego corrected with a slap to the face, silencing my father.
He wanted to lash out at him, but the words weren’t coming.
“Who do you think you are?!” Linda raised her voice, defending her husband.
Diego responded, lifting his brow at her, “You already know, yet you’re asking like you have a memory loss.”
“How dare you speak to me like that?!”
“I am Alpha Diego, and who the hell are you?” He spoke back to Linda, provoking my stepmother.
In anger, she bragged, “We also have an Alpha in our family, so your title isn’t special at all.” She boasted, referring to Damian.
But did Diego care?
“Oh, him? That’s an Alpha who still needs a lot of work, ” Diego slammed coldly at Linda, leaving Damian and Casey’s mouth dropping.
“I didn’t even know he was an Alpha until he mentioned it. The only thing common about us is the title, but the mention of our name will tell who’s indeed an Alpha. And I’m sure you understand that statement?”
Diego stood with pride. His fire couldn’t be matched by them no matter what they say.
His words had struck Damian to the point of forcing my Ex to speak up.
He wasn’t pleased with the way his name was dragged in the mud like he’s a nobody.
“Diego, please don’t make this matter worse than it is for my family. I’ll advice you take Anna and leave this place. This is a special day for my father in-law and I won’t allow you two to ruin such a happy occasion for us,” Damian said, speaking tough.
When he said all what he had to say, Diego hummed, hovering his eyes at him.
“I didn’t know you could defend your own family. The last time your Luna spoke nonsense about my Anna, you immediately turned against her and supported your sister in-law. Waw… This is an improvement.”
“What… I didn’t…” Damian stammered, looking right at Linda.
The way she glared at him showed how low he was at her feet.
It’s like Damian was nothing to her despite being the Alpha of Wolf Blood.
“Just like the way you’re defending your family, I’m also defending mine.” Diego caressed me closer, so they’d all see with their own eyes.
“You think I don’t know about your detest for me, Raymond? I know about it right from the day we both met. But despite that, I never used that to stop Anna from coming down here to see you.”
“You disowned her yet she never forgot about your day. She came here to wish you well and this is how you react by attacking her? Waw! And I thought I was the moster here.”
He chuckled, swaying his head while patting me.
“Silly me. I should be thanking you for sending Anna right into my arms,” Diego said, cupping my face and looking into my eyes. ” You don’t know how happy I am to have such a woman like her as my partner. She’s such a precious gem.”
My heart glowed at his words. He still found a way to plant a smile on my face despite everything that’s taking place.
Gosh! I love him so much.
I held him close, looking right at my father, who couldn’t stand the tenderness Diego was expressing for me openly.
“It’s like the saying goes… One man’s poison is another man’s treasure. You really don’t know what you’ve lost, Ray.”
“Leave this place,” Father ordered in a low voice.
“I don’t want to see you two anywhere near my family or my personal life. You can take her away for all I care. She died the day I threw her out of my life.”
THUD! I heard my heart thump when he said that.
It felt like the last heartbeat I’ll ever make for my father.
I… I don’t…
“And she came to live the very day she became my girl,” Diego said sweetly, blooming my heart.
He gave no room for pains even though I was struggling.
Why won’t I love him?
He’s my Alpha Lord.
Mine alone.
Diego’s sweet nature annoyed father. He couldn’t accept the fact that the man he keeps calling the devil has genuine love for me.
He feels I’m dwelling with the devil and I’m blind to see it. But it’s the opposite here. He’s the one who’s dwelling with the devil and the agents.
In anger, he walked away, pacing off with speed.
Linda, Casey, and Damian went after father, leaving Diego and I alone.
When they were gone, I broke down in Diego’s arms, telling him how I failed to speak to my father about those three.
“Linda showed up and…”
“Anna, it’s okay. You don’t have to feel bad about it. You did your best.” He comforted me.
Hurt by what just happened, I bursted into tears and held Diego close. He embraced me tightly and said, “Let’s go. You’ve done your best in this situation.”
I sniffed while Diego wiped my tears away. He took me out of that place, leading me out of the building.
I don’t know how the Goddess wants this to play out, but I know my father will eventually learn the truth one day.
It’s best I don’t tell but allow him to see things for himself when Diego and I expose those three.
It’s all about time.
Getting to the car, Arnold called Diego, telling him that Henry was on his way to the place he invited me to.
“That’s good. We need to make our move, ” Diego planned, looking at me.
He placed his phone aside and asked if I wanted to come along with him to handle Henry. But feeling down from the heated argument with father, I had to let this one pass.
“I’ll just head back to the hotel and rest. I don’t feel too good.”
“Hey.” Diego held me close, with his hands cupping my face. “Don’t think about it too much. You know you’re not alone in this. I am always here for you.”
“I know,” I nodded my head at him.
“Everything will be okay, I promise. You just need to stay strong,” He said, caressing my cheek.
I nodded once again, smiling at him.
“Just head back to the hotel and get some rest. I’ll try to finish things with billionaire horny boy and return to you before midnight.”
I chuckled at what he called, Henry, replying to him, “Okay. Just be safe, pleaee.”
“I will,” He promised, kissing me on the lips.
My shivers and fever vanished. I felt better again.
Diego placed me in the car and ordered the guards to head for the hotel.
He stepped into another car, which was driven into the premises by Arnold, and left in the other direction.
“Forget about them for now, Anna. The battle isn’t over yet,” I said to myself, relaxing in my seat.
But suddenly, I began to hear something beeping in the car.
Confused, I asked the guards if they could hear the sound, but they couldn’t.
“Something is ticking in the vehicle. I can…” Before I could finish my statement, the back seat door which was closer to me, came ripping off the car!
I looked in fear and was swiftly pulled out by the large hairy hand of a Werewolf!
I screamed, feeling myself being yanked out and taken away with speed!
My Captor, who was a huge Werewolf with a grey fur, held me right under his arms and stood right in the middle of the road with no fear if he’ll get knocked down by a car.
His presence alone had caused a disrupt, causing cars to drive recklessly to avoid getting hit.
But I wasn’t prepared for what I witnessed next.
I wasn’t.
The guard’s made a turn to come and save me from this beast. And before my very eyes, the car exploded into flames, killing both men inside!
I gazed in horror as the impact of this explosion affected other vehicles close by!
Everyone around this horrifying scene fled in terror! Cars couldn’t make a way through because of the sudden blast.
This can’t be happening.
They are dead!
“You’re coming with me,” My captor spoke deeply, poking something sharp into my back neck.
When I felt it, I tried to fight off whatever it was he was forcing inside me but… I failed.
My eyes came heavy and right under his arm, I passed out.
