Nicolas POV
“I am so glad you waited,” Terra said with the sweetest voice. “I wanted to come and give you a personal thank you.”
Terra tilted her head sideways, observing the quiet Ray. He did not move. He was staring at Terra with disgust.
Yet she misread the hostility as something else, which made me nauseous.
“Do you like what you see?” she asked. “I have ensured that every aspect of me is flawless just for you!”
The dark bruises on Terra’s slender body had vanished, and the cuts on her face had healed-her wolf had done her magic.
Terra grinned, tossed her hair over her shoulder, and placed her hands on her hips. She was not embarrassed by her appearance; instead, she began to parade before me as though she were at a fashion show.
She spun around quickly, flaunting all of her assets.
“This is all yours,” she said, pointing to her body. “You can have a taste of me now; I would not mind, and it could be our little secret. I want to express my gratitude to you for saving me.”
Ray shook his head and made a concerted effort not to gag.
“Oh, come on, Alpha,” she said. “It is only s*x between future mates. The goddess would grant her blessing and give her approval.”
That alerted Ray, and he snarled.
“No?” Her lips formed a sinner smile as she asked. “Your father has already committed to selling you to me. There are just a few days left before he turns you over, and I become your Luna. Do you have any idea how much fun we will have? You and me together. A couple made in heaven!”
“Goddess, can’t she shut the fuck up already?” Ray hissed. “Dude, she irritates me!”
“What is keeping Ronan? He ought to have arrived here by now,” I said, attempting to divert Ray’s attention.
In order to keep Terra safe before Ray did something foolish, like k*ll her, I had mind-linked Ronan for help. Ray was on the verge of rearranging her face.
Everything about Terra-her face, body, scent, and voice-was fueling that open, blazing fire inside Ray. And the more she opened her mouth, the more he became enraged.
Ray was filled with so much hatred and anger from Terra’s presence that he felt like a ticking time bomb that could detonate at any moment. It was like pouring gasoline on an open fire.
“He had better arrive soon,” Ray growled, his teeth clenched. “Her overly sweet personality is becoming too much for me to handle.”
Terra took a step forward, her hands cupping her breasts.
“Have a good look, Alpha,” she said. “I am eager for you to put your mouth on my nipples and have them sucked by you.”
With her eyes closed and her head thrown back, she touched herself and moaned.
“She is seriously insane!” Ray mumbled in disgust.
“I cannot believe she is throwing herself at me like that,” I muttered, sick to my stomach. It was not the first time that a she-wolf threw herself at me, but it never reached this level.
Terra groaned, lowering her hand to her intimate area. “Let me please you, Alpha,” she moaned. “I will make it worth your time.”
“This is no longer something I can watch!” Ray lunged forward, growling.
Terra’s eyes snapped open in shock. She lost her footing and fell backward, landing on her ass.
Did she get hurt?
“Why do you car?” Ray snapped.
“She is still a visitor in the…” My voice trailed off, seeing the hate Ray has for her.
He watched her, frozen in place. He refused to go see if she was hurt.
“Oh,” she mutters a moment later, pulling herself into a sitting position. “It appears that Mr. Wolfie is envious. Would you like Kitty to come out and play? She would not mind. She enjoys playing rough.”
Ray shifted his head and knitted his eyebrows together. Her words appeared to be confusing him.
Terra got up and brushed herself off, a smile spreading across her lips.
“Your wish is my command,” Terra said, and then she shifted into her simple chocolate-colored wolf.
Ray’s mouth dropped to the floor as he realized how big Terra’s wolf was. She was not his size, but she was almost Gamma in proportion.
“Is there anyone in her family who is ranked?” Ray asked curiously.
“I do not know,” I answered. “I never bothered to look up her ancestry. She was an annoyance, not a fascination. Her parents, I believe, were ranked warriors.”
“We will need to investigate her background,” Ray stated. “There is something really strange about her.”
“I agree,” I replied. “Have you noticed that she lacks the characteristic silver markings, even though she was born here?”
“I did,” he said. “Why is it that your father would prefer that we mate with a person other than a silver wolf?”
“Your guess is as good as mine,” I replied.
Tara’s wolf yapped, getting closer.
Although she did not look us in the eyes, she gave off the impression of being friendly enough. It seemed as if something was bothering her.
“Her wolf appears a little aloof,” Ray said. “This is not what she wants to do.”
“Do you think she is being forced?” I asked.
“It may be,” Ray said.
“And Terra?” I inquired, with hope.
“I doubt that,” he said. “I believe that she is genuinely fixated on you.”
Ray raised a mocking eyebrow, the unspoken remark clearly in his eyes-I should have considered the rogues killing her earlier today. Now I am stuck with this! And this was not something I could fix.
Feeling angry, I growled inwardly at myself. How could I have allowed this to get this bad? When is she going to stop being so obsessed with me?
I became lost in thought, hoping to find a solution.
The sudden pressure of Terra’s wolf’s nose against mine caused something inside of me to snap.
“How dare she touch me!” Terra’s wolf let out a terrified whimper as I roared.
Everything happened so quickly. My anger had reached a boiling point.
Terra’s wolf dropped her tail between her legs and hurried away from me. She lowered her head in submission. She appeared pitiful and afraid.
That infuriated me even more and made me furious. She was and will never be my equal. My veins were filled with anger; I felt like a volcano, ready to erupt and cause chaos. I was tired of her games.
I stalked forward, giving her a taste of her own medicine. She whimpered even louder as I extended my aura around her, causing her to shiver in terror.
I opened my claws, jumped forward, and went for the kill.
“Alpha stop!” I was on top of Terra when Ronan’s voice jolted me out of my daze, and we plunged to the ground, leaving me in an awkward and vulnerable position.
