DIEGO
Anna and I sat on the bed in our nightwear.
She had her arms crossed while leaning against her pillow, telling me all that happened between her and Damian during the party.
“I was stunned by his action. That jerk even dared to rub himself on me in a corner! I was so mad but I couldn’t do a thing in my condition!” She vented out, shaking her head.
“I searched around for you but didn’t spot you on time. I tried to find a safe place to hide and get this infection to stop, but Damian was coming. He kept following me.”
Her words may have confirmed my suspicion of the Alpha’s interest in her despite the state he places her in, but it doesn’t change the fact that he tried to force himself on her in my absence.
And that makes me angry.
He gave Anna a scare and… Fuck! I should have gone to her on time when he left.
“I hate that bastard so much. I’m just glad that you showed up to help me. Who knows what that animal would have done if he had succeeded in…”
“Nothing like that will happen to you, ” I interrupted, taking Anna’s hand in mine.
She stared at it and lifted her eyes to look into my gaze, smiling.
“I won’t allow anyone to harm you. I promise to keep you safe always,” I vowed, caressing her skin with my thumb.
The shimmer in her eyes when she heard my words bloomed my heart. I always get this satisfaction when I see how happy Anna gets at my promise.
It’s a sign that there’s someone who trusts me with all of her heart, despite our differences.
This is something that I’ve lacked for so long within my walls. But the Goddess brought Anna to me and… She’s giving me what I never had.
Anna drew closer and dropped her head on my shoulder, making herself comfortable. Then she said, “That’s why you’re my Alpha Lord. You always handle the problem.”
I smiled at her word, squeezing her hand in mine.
But our conversation wasn’t over yet. I need to prepare Anna’s mind for what’s to come. And it involves the bastard she’s trying to stay away from.
“While I was talking to Damian, I noticed his interest in you,” I started, forcing Anna sit up properly and listen.
“The Alpha hasn’t really gotten over you despite rejecting you. He still wants you.”
“He can go to hell for all I care. He was the one who openly broke our ties before the people and picked my step sister. He must be mad if he thinks I’ll fall for that shit.”
“But that’s the point, Anna. He still wants you, meaning you are like his weakness,” I pointed out to Anastasia who became calm, listening to me.
“He still craves to be around you and that’s one way of getting him to spill out the bean and expose himself. Are you getting it?” I asked Anna, hoping she’s following.
She nodded to show her understanding. “So if I’m giving Damian my attention, I can get him to confess his devilish plan with Linda and Casey?”
“Yes. And we might also get some truth of him having some connections with the Mafias. That way you can show your father that you are innocent,” I said, watching how Anna’s eyes glittered with tears covering her eye balls.
She turned away to hide her sadness, nodding at the points I gave out. “Yeah, to prove myself to my father. I get you now. So, you want me to just endure until we get the truth out of him, right?”
I nodded.
“It’s part of being a Mafia, that’s if you have what it takes to really be like me.”
“What? I have what it takes!” She exclaimed out, getting serious.
“I’m already a Mafia like you, so yeah… I can do it. I can endure!” She poked my chest to prove herself.
And I just smiled, pleased to see how fired up she got when I mentioned that.
“Fine, I’ll do it. But I won’t hold back if that bastard tries to touch me. I swear I will bite him,” She promised.
“But if I’m doing that, what will you be doing? Oh! Watching?” She drew nearer to me, laying her head down on my lap comfortably.
“Not really, but the same thing as you.”
“Huh? I don’t get it, ” Anna was confused.
With a smirk, I revealed my own part of the plan in this game, ” Your step sister, Cassandra. She has a crush on me.”
“What?!” Anna exclaimed almost rising off my lap, but I didn’t allow her.
My hand gently placed her down, preventing her from getting up. She frowned at this and demanded for an answer.
“There’s no way she has a crush on you! That brat is always talking about how bad you are because of the rumors we grew up with!” She vented out.
I hummed and said, “Rumors or not, she likes me.”
That confirmation didn’t sit well with Anna. She looked… Jealous!
“I was looking for you when she came up to me and began to engage me in conversations about you. But her main motive was to seduce me. She kept looking at my body, holding my hand, showing off her cleavages…”
Suddenly, Anna’s body shivered!
I looked and found her glaring at the side in anger. She’s boiling!
Anastasia’s face had gone all red. She was angry and didn’t feel like listening to what I had to say about her step sister.
“Can you stop talking about her? I don’t want to hear anymore.”
“But why? I am trying to pin out something to you. Now if the Alpha’s Luna has a thing for me, then that means I have to play along and get her to spill the bean. You’ll be handling Damian and I’ll be with Cassandra.”
“What if it’s just a mistake?” She asked, frowning at this. “Casey hates you. She has been saying so many terrible things about you and… And I had to stand my ground and shun her.”
“Okay, and what did you tell her?” I asked, simpering.
She couldn’t respond to that question. She went shut.
“Goodness, I feel so thirsty. Let me just…” She made an attempt to rise but like the first time, I kept her down.
“Diego, I need to get up. I’m thirsty.”
“Are you?” I questioned, lifting my brow.
Anna stared at me, probably sensing something suspicious about my behavior.
“How about you tell me what you and your sister discussed in my absence. What do you say?”
“No, I don’t feel like talking about all the bad things she said, ” She refused, trying to drag herself out.
I held her down, pinning her on my lap.
She squeezed and asked, “Is it necessary to hear all what she said about you?”
“Not her part, but yours. I think Cassandra’s sudden behavior has something to do with you, and I’m curious to hear all the things you told her.”
Hearing that, Anna’s body quivered. She scoffed at me and claimed, ” I didn’t tell her anything that will make her act like that. I was only defending you from her bad talk.”
“That’s what I want to hear. Repeat everything you said to me. It’s just a simple task right?” I smiled keeping her hands down.
But someone’s stubbornness came active in an instant. Anna suddenly dragged herself out of my hold and tried to run away.
Quickly, I held her from the waist and pulled her into my arms, while she laughed out and begged me to let her go.
“Diego, come on!”
“I’m serious, Anna. I won’t leave you until you tell me everything.”
“No! ” She refused, struggling again.
Her playfulness got to me. It brought about an old sensation I’ve lost many years ago. But feeling it again with her, made me happy. Like… Really happy.
Still holding a struggling Anna, I carefully planted a kiss on her cheek which made her stop immediately.
She turned to face me with a surprise look, getting all crimson red.
“Even if you don’t tell me, I already know the kind of words you used to defend my name. And that’s why you’re my naughty girl. Mine alone.” My arms went tight around her body, feeling her warmth.
Anna gave out a soft moan, dropping her body fully on me. Her head fell back, resting on my shoulder, with her eyes staring right into mine.
She gazed lovingly at me, caressing my face with her hand.
Her smooth touch triggered my body. I felt my heart racing at her hold.
I almost thought my action had caused her sexual urges to rise again, but it wasn’t.
The look she gave and the touch she made were genuine. This wasn’t the infection at work but Anna herself being affectionate towards me.
That hooked me instantly. I felt that pull for this beautiful soul and the desire to keep her closer to myself for good.
Drawn by her warm heart, I pulled her closer and took her lips in mine, kissing her passionately.
Anna wrapped her arms around my neck and carefully pulled me down with her into the bed. She didn’t let go of my lips. She kept it tangled with mine, savoring me tenderly.
My body came resting down on her alluring figure, feeling me with this intense desire to have her.
“Diego,” She called amidst our kiss, running her hand on me. “It’s starting,” She alerted, now trying hard not to get too intimate with me.
She knows how my body rises anytime we get too close. She’s trying to keep me calm from going beyond the line.
“It’s okay. I’m here for you,” I said, kissing her once more.

The following morning, I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing out loudly. It was a call from my Beta.
“Seriously Arnold?” I groaned, sitting up.
I heard Anna groan right next to me. She was still asleep, laying naked and half way covered.
I smiled at her face and carefully pulled away, heading for the bathroom to speak to Arnold.
“Talk to me,” I said, shutting the door close.
“I’ve got some information about our missing guest,” He shared, pleasing me.
“Better. Send me the details now, I’ll check them out.”
“Yeah, but there’s one thing I also found out. Something I think you might not like, ” Arnold said, sounding bothered.
Now his words were getting me curious. I was keen on knowing what this info was.
“Tell me, I can handle it.”
“Hmm, I doubt that, Alpha.”
Is he serious right now?
What could be so troubling that he feels I can’t deal with?
“Billionaire Henry from SilverCrest pack was the Mafia guest who was with Alpha Damian.”
“SilverCrest?” I uttered, finding this pack’s name disturbing, but not that much.
“He wasn’t supposed to be at that party. He came in place of someone you know.”
Now I was beginning to understand why my Beta said I won’t like this. Indeed I don’t like where this is going.
“The real missing guest is Alpha Anthony Woods of SilverCrest. He sent Henry over to see Damian at the party.”
“Anthony.” Flashes of my past with that Alpha flooded my memories, filling me with rage.
Now that’s a bloody Mafia Boss I am so ready to get my hands drenched in his blood!
He’s the main reason behind my hate. The main beast I want to sink my teeth into his neck and rip apart.
“So, he’s out from his shell? Fine then, we shall see.”
