ANASTASIA
“Diego! Please, let me go!” I cried out, hitting the trunk with my legs.
The movement of the car made me uncomfortable, as every bump it met on the road affected me. My body would hit the corners, causing every part to ache.
“Anna, you are so stupid! Why didn’t you give it to him?!” I scolded myself, trying to position my body properly. “You had to act all tough, didn’t you? Now look at where you are. ARGH!” The car moved again, making me hit my butt.
The constant tumbles soon ceased with the car driving smoothly on the road. From the way it drove, I could tell we where on a highway. But which one?
I had to ask because I don’t know where Diego is taking me to. Who knows what nasty plans he has in store for me. “And father warned you about him. He told you about the Underworld, but you decided to play with Alpha Diego. God dammit! I’m a goner!”
I don’t know how long I’ve been there, but I swore to the heavens that it felt like a whole day inside the trunk.
I had grown so tired and weak of hitting the trunk and shouting. All I did was lay there and think about the kind of punishment that awaits me when this car comes to a stop.
Sleep didn’t even cross my path at this period. I’m going to meet my maker anytime soon.
“What are you saying, Anna?!” I snapped myself out of this defeat. “I have so many things to accomplish. I can’t allow that Alpha Lord to end me like that. No, I need to fight!” The zeal to survive engulfed me immediately.
I can’t die just yet. Not until I’ve served my stepmother and step sister with the punishment they deserve. And Damian… “That bloody animal! I’ll get them all!”
Just then, the car came to a stop. My heart skipped when I heard the engine go off and the car door opening and shutting.
This is it. The moment I’ve been afraid of. I positioned myself, getting ready to attack once the trunk came open.
And as soon as the Boot was unlocked and opened, I launched my legs at Diego, aiming for his chest.
But… “You never give up, do you?” He glared at me with his arms wrapped around my legs in a clutch!
It’s almost as if he knew what I was going to do when he opens the trunk.
Roughly, Diego dragged me out like that, not minding if my face meets the ground. I screamed and began to beg him to stop. “Please, Please, PLEASE!” My whole body fell out of the boot.
Luckily, I didn’t meet the ground with my face. I was just hanging upside down, dangling in his hold. “We can talk about this! Just don’t kill…” I paused on noticing the location we where in.
This wasn’t an abandoned or quiet place like I imagined. This was the Alpha’s mansion!
He brought me back to Crescent pack?
“If you don’t stop your nonsense, I’ll leave you like this until your blood flows to your brain,” He threatened, still holding me in that position.
I had gone silent and confused on seeing the mansion. Why did he bring me here when he clearly doesn’t want me around his home?
That’s when Alpha Diego dropped my legs down carefully and said, walking towards his mansion, ” We need to talk now.”
That sounded weird to me.
I thought he was going to kill me or do something bad as a punishment for tricking him. But a talk? “Is that why you kidnapped me?” I questioned, following the Alpha from behind, and stepping into his home.
Diego took me to the dining room and sent a maid to serve us something to eat. I know it’s the middle of the night, still, I don’t mind munching down this late hour to get my energy back.
As soon as the maid left, Diego asked, “How did you know?”
“Huh?” I uttered, having no idea on what he meant.
He lifted his right brow and took out his phone to show me a video of the motel and the car that pulled up. From the angle of the footage, I could tell Alpha Lord was filming from a corner, after he kidnapped and dumped me in the boot!
No wonder the car stopped after driving for a few minute. Seems he went to park it somewhere hidden.
“How did you know he was coming for you?” He repeated, stunning me instantly.
“Who?” I questioned, feeling perplexed. Who’s he talking about? The only person I can point at is him.
But my mouth dropped on seeing the continuation of the video. The car that pulled up when I hid in the bushes, finally came open. The car looked so familiar like… “Beta Xavier?” I gasped, horrified to see the Beta and his men’s face, as they walked to the manager’s office!
I was horrified when the manager came out and led them to my room, only for Xavier to step out again, kicking the manager in anger!
What the hell is this?!
“Are you trying to tell me that you didn’t know he was coming and you left on your own?” He tilted his head, doubting my reaction.
“No! I didn’t know a thing!” I answered, dropping my gaze on the video one more time.
“The reason I was leaving the motel was to get away from you! I thought you were going to return and maybe kill me for what I did!” I confessed, shivering over the footage.
“I didn’t know that crazy pervert came to find me. How… How did you know?” I asked Diego, unable to wipe this wave all over my body.
The Alpha hummed, dropping his phone aside. Then he said, leaning back, “While leaving, of course. I didn’t plan to kill or do any horrible thing you imagined. But I wasn’t going to let you off the hook.”
Yeah, no difference from hunting me down.
“I was driving off when I spotted his car heading into the only path that leads to your location. That’s how I knew he was up to something. I had to turn back at once and find a way to beat his speed,” He explained, increasing my fear.
I found myself thinking of what would have happened to me if I stayed back and the Beta showed up. It would have been terrible.
“It’s a good thing the Goddess spoke to you at that hour, because that man looked so hungry to have you tonight. Lucky Anna,” He mocked, smirking at me.
I was overwhelmed by the troubling feeling that was in me, but it died when this grumpy man smirked, ridiculing me over tonight’s escape.
“A thank you would be nice. Saving a stubborn pup like yourself isn’t my kind of thing,” He scoffed, running his hand in his hair.
“You saved me? ” I glared, slamming my hand on the table. “You call bagging my head and throwing me into the trunk a save? You kidnapped me!”
“Still a save,” He dragged, refusing to admit to his crime.
“Rude, Grumpy, Crazy wolf! He will get nothing from me. Save my foot,” I grumbled in my mind, getting to my feet.
Diego noticed and said, still in his cold manner, “Be patient and wait for your meal. I know you’re hungry.”
“I don’t need your food, Alpha Diego. I am leaving.”
“Leaving?” His face switched from cold to confusion, asking, “You mean leaving the dining?”
“No, your home! I am leaving, Sir Alpha Lord. Thank you for kidnapping me and Goodbye,” I said, pulling myself away from the table.
Before I could take my step, Diego blocked my path, refusing to let me leave.
“What’s your problem? Why are you always bothering me?!” I sparked at him, getting mad.
“You’re really something. You asked for a reward and I finally gave it to you. Now you want to leave after all the stress you put me through? What a selfish brat.”
“Hey! I’m not… Wait, a reward?” I paused, repeating his word in my head and getting the message correctly. “You want me to stay?” I asked, flabbergasted.
Alpha Diego narrowed his brows at me and responded, sitting back on his chair, “Unless you want to head back into the cold night and wait for that animal to get you. Looks like you want him after all.”
I groaned at that statement he made. He can be such a pain in the ass. Still, he accepted my request after all the bragging. What suddenly changed in him?
Staying at Diego’s mansion won’t just shield me from the dangers outside, but give me all the entertainment I need. After that drama at the motel… I’m beginning to crave for another opportunity with him again.
Not that I care. It’s just my condition that’s pushing me to think all that. But at least, he’ll be here to clear my urges.
Swallowing my pride, I sat down on the chair and said, crossing my arms, “Fine, I’ll stay.”
“And what do you have to say?” He asked, crossing his arms as well.
“Thank you,” I forced through my teeth, faking a smile.
Diego glared and rolled his eyes, looking at a different direction.
For an Alpha, he sure has an attitude. But come to think of it… “Why didn’t you grab Xavier at that moment? He came to the motel and walked right in front of your eyes.” I asked, wanting to know why Diego didn’t use that opportunity to carry out his work.
But he said, ” Then I won’t get what I want from him.”
What he wants? Oh, the whatever thing he was demanding from Alpha Sullivan.
“Besides, your safety was more important at that moment. I had to take you away before he gets you.”
“Really?” That statement got to me. I felt my cheek burning at the Alpha’s words, with a smile slowly spreading across my lips. So, he really came back to save me?
“Yeah, so I can do this.” His hand came stretching out to my face, with his palm opening wide. “Drop the card,” He ordered, revealing the main reason behind his so-called rescue.
Unbelievable! He had me fooled there.
“I know you didn’t tear up the real one. The card has a golden leaf at the back. You took one of your plain shopping tag and ripped it with all your strength,” He revealed, making me feel stupid in my seat.
“I would have walked up to you and squeezed it out, but you were already trembling and dripping down there,” He explained, directing his eyes at my legs, and indicating where he was talking about.
My body vibrated, reminiscing on his rough grip on my clit. Thinking about it alone is already giving me the… Anna stop!
Getting myself, I squinted my eyes at Diego and said, “I hate you.”
“Yet you’re sitting before me,” He smirked, still waiting for the card.
I was about to pull out the card from my pocket when something came to mind. Simpering at the Alpha, who now had suspicion all over his face, I said, “You’ll get the card after you grant me my wish.”
“You have got to be the most greedy girl I’ve ever seen. Every opportunity means business to you, isn’t it?” He frowned, closing his palm into a fist.
With pride, I said, “It’s the Mafia way after all. I got something you need, now you have to pay for it. Do we have a deal or not?”
Diego groaned, slamming his hand on the table.
If he wants this card then he has no choice.
