He never returned

ALESSIA’S POV
I waited and waited, thinking Cassius would return to pick me up, but that bastard didn’t return.
He didn’t care if I ended up dying on the street or get raped by some street boys.
I began to walk on the lonely road, barefooted.
The night air was chilling and I kept sneezing as I already caught a cold.
Fortunately for me, I saw a , and ran as fast as my legs could get me over to the booth to make a call.
I was able to scrap out a dollar bill, to enable me make the call.
” Hello, who is this?” Cece’s weak voice could be heard from the other end of the telephone.
” CeCe, it’s me Alessia. Come pick me up at the road by Mirage Mall.” I said.
” Are you really the one, Alessia?” She began to cry.
” Yes, stop crying already. I’m freezing.” I chuckled.
” Okay, I will be there soon.” She said and hung up, while I remained in the .
I was able to stay warm. in the until CeCe arrived and picked me up.
All I wanted to do was wash myself clean and have a nice sleep, forgetting all of my sorrows.
At least, I was able to make him walk out of my life, and I couldn’t be more happy.
But a part of me still craves him.
His rich baritone voice, his touch, his cock.
” Stop thinking about him already. He is gone from your life, and you should be happy because of that.”
I scolded my brain, but it wouldn’t obliged, as it kept thinking about Cassius.
” Do you want me to cuddle you to sleep? It seems you have problems sleeping.” CeCe offered.
After she brought me home, she refused to leave.
She promised to stay with me for a week or two before returning to her apartment, as she didn’t want the kidnapping issue to repeat itself.
” Yes. I really need a cuddle.”
I pouted and she lay on the bed beside me and cuddled me, playing with my hair until I fell into deep slumber.
TWO WEEKS LATER.
It’s been two weeks and everyone has moved on, maybe, except for me.
It was how I’ve always wanted it, but why can’t I move on?
There isn’t any Satan’s heir, no Cassius and no Mafia lord in my life anymore, but why do I feel sad about that?
Cassius never returned since the day he told me to get down from his car.
I always curse at him each time I remember that moment, but since he wasn’t coming back, there was no use cursing at him anymore.
He was gone for good.
My life was back to normal, but it feels new to me again.
I didn’t feel lonely, not even for once, because CeCe was still with me.
She refused to leave, seeing my sour mood all the time since Cassius left and did return again.
” What should I prepare for lunch?” CeCe asked from the kitchen.
” Macarons and cheese.” I replied, munching on the popcorn in my hand.
” Got it.” CeCe replied, while I concentrated on the movie I was watching in the sitting room.
I was so deeply engrossed that I didn’t even hear a thing, until I heard the window in my room pulled open.
My heart flew into my mouth, and I wasted no time in running into my room.
I thought he was back again, but hell no, he wasn’t the one.
” Fuck! You’ve totally run mad, Alessia.” I said to myself, as I dipped my fingers into my scalp.
It wasn’t Cassius but breeze.
It seemed it would rain soon, and the breeze was getting heavy, so it pushed the window open, and here I was, thinking it was him.
CeCe joined me, her brows raised as she watched me stare at the window for over five minutes.
” Is anything the matter?” She held my shoulder softly. ” You’ve been staring at the window since forever.”
” It’s nothing. I will join you in the sitting room soon.” I said and went forward towards the window to shut it.
” I think it’s gonna rain.” CeCe said and I nodded slowly.
” Yes, it will.” I replied, turned back to look at my window before returning to the sitting room with CeCe.
As we both settled down to continue our movie, my phone rang, so I picked it up as fast as I could.
I thought it was Cassius, but it turned out to be Nathaniel.
I was disappointed, big time, but I still had to pick up his call.
” Hello, Nathan.” I mustered up the best voice I could.
I didn’t want him to sense how down I have been lately.
” How are you doing?” He said from the other end of the call.
” I’m doing great.” I replied, with a small smile on my lips.
” Would you like to hang out with me? Just the two of us?” He asked and I bit my lips.
I won’t be comfortable with just me and him, not after the text I got from Cassius when Nathaniel wanted to wipe my lips.
What if he might be stalking me when Nathaniel and I would be hanging out?
He might end up killing Nathaniel over the night, but I doubt it.
He already made it clear that it was over between us, and whatever we had, was just a facade.
” Stop thinking he will come back to you, Alessia. It’s been two weeks already.” My subconscious mind screamed at me.
” So what do you say?” Nathaniel’s voice jotted me out of my thoughts.
” How about CeCe tags alone? She’s staying with me for now, and I can’t leave her at home.” I said.
” Okay, she can also tag along. I will come pick you up by 3pm.”
” Okay.”
We hung up afterwards and a sigh escaped my lips, as I went through my messages with Cassius, which brought a smiled to my face.
Does he miss me, just the way I miss him?
Is he having fun with some whores forgetting about me?
Those thoughts lingered in my mind until the laughing of CeCe jotted me out of my trance.
” Get a hold of yourself, Alessia. Or you will lose your mind.” I muttered to myself and concentrated on the movie.
