CECE’S POV
When Alessia called me over and told me about Lucas’s Wedding with Rachel, I almost died of a heart attack.
If I were in her shoes, I wouldn’t be so calm as she sounded on the phone.
” Why are you this calm, Alessia?” I had asked her over the phone but she sighed.
” There’s nothing I can do, CeCe. What’s over is over.” That was her reply.
She was overly calm for someone whose fiance had an affair and is about to get married to his fiancee’s best friend in just a month.
” There’s something you can do, Alessia. Let’s go tomorrow and spill out the whole truth.” I sighed and shoved my fingers into my hair as I prepared to leave my apartment.
” We should ruin their wedding.”
” No! No! We shouldn’t do that, and moreover, I’m going there to show them that I can live well without them in my life.” Alessia replied to me, and I immediately felt weak.
How I wished I had such a strong heart like Alessia does.
Only the thought of it made goosebumps fill my body and the hair at the back of my neck to stand at alert.
I won’t be able to take such a test.
I would either kill the both of them and also myself, so we can all meet in hell.
I envy how patient she sounded when speaking on the phone, and I just hope she heals completely and moves on with her life.
I successfully left my apartment and drove out of the estate in my car.
Picking up the dress I would be wearing to Lucas’s wedding, I looked at it.
A sigh escaped my lips.
Here I’m worrying about someone’s love life, when mine is even worse, a bigger mess.
The last time I was in a relationship was probably during college days.
After I graduated and became a doctor, I see no reason to be in a relationship because of how busy I was.
Being a doctor wasn’t an easy task. It was like sacrificing your love life and health. That is the only tangible explanation I can give.
But hell, my parents weren’t letting me remain single, never!
They are on my neck to get a boyfriend and introduce him to them as soon as possible.
After all, I’m the heir of Kings Union Group Of Companies, and to take over, I have to get married with kids.
I really don’t care about the company, because I would rather remain a doctor than become a CEO of my father’s company, but since they were persistent and always on my neck, I have to find someone.
Even if it was a fake boyfriend.
A sigh escaped my lips as I made a U-turn towards Alessia’s place.
Finally, I got to her apartment and she was in the kitchen preparing some snacks.
” Hey, you’re here.” She smiled and handed over some snacks to me.
” This is not the time for a snack, Alessia.” I received a small tray of snacks and placed it on the table, before facing her. ” Are you really going to the wedding?”
” Yes, of course. I’m healed already, trust me.” She flashed me another smile which didn’t reach her eyes.
I have known Alessia for almost ten years now, but still, I just can’t figure out what she thinks and how her brain works.
But something was for sure, she might be lying to me about healing, but I knew for a fact that she wasn’t healed yet.
It was just a month ago, and today which happens to be Lucas’s wedding was supposed to be hers.
Alessia was supposed to get married to Lucas today, if only he didn’t cheated and broke her heart.
I didn’t want to push the matter further, so I let her be.
” Fine, if you say so.” I sighed and grabbed the snack, stuffing it into my mouth.
” My dress and shoes are ready.” She beamed, going to her room to get her dress and shoes.
My mouth was wide open upon seeing her dress.
Fuck! These would cost millions of dollars, if I’m not mistaken.
” How…. who…. where did you get this dress and shoes from?” I asked, taking slow steps towards her to touch the dress.
” Oh, I got it as a gift, is it expensive?” She asked with a raised brow.
Was she kidding me right now?
The dress and the shoes would probably cost a fortune.
” Yes, it’s worth millions!” I replied and her eyes widened.
” So back to my question.” I said darting my gaze from the dress to Alessia, who still had a shock expression on.
” Who the fuck gave you this dress?” I asked once again.
” It’s someone. He will come pick us up when it’s time to leave for the wedding.” She replied and left for her room to take her bath, since it was almost time.
” What is she talking about?” I frowned, but didn’t dwell much on it, as I already started preparing my make-up kits.
Once Alessia was done bathing, I did her makeup and dressed her up.
Fuck! She looked like a goddess of beauty.
Lucas is certainly a fool for cheating on a beautiful woman like Alessia.
I couldn’t wait to see who she said was committed to picking us up.
I also dressed up and sat on the sofa, tapping my finger against my lap, waiting patiently.
Soon, we heard honk from a car outside, and I stood up sharply.
” He is here, let’s go ” Alessia smiled and walked out of her apartment, while I followed behind her.
Upon getting outside, there were two beautiful Audi R8 waiting outside.
I gasped, and couldn’t shut my mouth.
” Get in the car behind, ” a rich deep baritone voice said to me, and I frowned.
” Why? I’m staying with Alessia.” I insisted.
” Just go to the back of the car, CeCe, I will be fine.” Alessia assured me and I nodded.
The second car was open for me, and I got in.
A gasp escaped my lips when I saw a god of beauty, seated at the back seat, scrolling through a tablet.
My breath hitched, when he turned towards me and my heart began to race uncontrollably.
It was fascinating how my heart was beating fastly, for someone I barely knew for a minute.
” You might eat up my face if you continue staring.” His baritone voice made my breath hitch and my skin tingle.
” I’m…sorry. ” I chuckled nervously as I clamped my thighs together to avoid dripping on the leather seat.
Fuck! I was wet just because of his voice.
What the fuck is wrong with you, CeCe?
I scolded my mental health.
” Are you feeling sick? You look so red.” He turned to look at me, his brows furrowed with concern.
” No…I’m fine.” I replied.
If only he knew what his voice does to me, he wouldn’t be asking if I was fine or not.
