An orphan

ALESSIA’S POV
I was feeling pleasure mixed with pain as Cassius spanked my ass and forced me to claim that I was his.
Never have I been forced in my life, or we could say, I’m the stubborn type.
I hate being controlled, but I couldn’t resist it when it comes to Cassius.
He has full control over everything in my life including my darn body.
After he was done spanking me, I could stand properly.
My legs wobbled on the ground, and my ass cheek ached so badly.
” Now dress you and enjoy the party like a good girl that you’re.” He said deadpanned, and I just looked at him before wearing my clothes properly.
I hate him and I also hate the fact that he gets to control me anytime and any fucking where he likes.
After I was done dressing, I walked out of the restroom without giving a fuck about him.
He wanted to speak up, but I walked out before he could even say a word.
Upon getting to the door leading back to the party hall, I took in a deep breath and forced a smile on my lips.
It was now time to face reality.
To face my uncle and aunt, and tell them about my broken engagement.
Once I was able to calm myself down, I walked back into the hall.
I was glad no one focused on me, as the party already continued once Cassius dragged me out of the hall.
” What happened? Do you know him?” Emma threw a hateful glare at me.
” Yes, he is the owner of the hospital I work at.” I forced a smile, trying to sound natural.
” So why did he drag you with such a possessive look in his eyes?” Emma pushed on.
” No idea.” I shrugged.
My aunt looked around, searching for Lucas.
” Where is he?” She asked, her brows furrowed. ” I haven’t set my eyes on him since the party began.”
” Who?” We all asked in unison.
” Lucas of course. He is your fiance, he is supposed to be here, or didn’t you inform you that I called?”
I took a deep breath, my heart racing uncontrollably.
” He told me, but we are no longer a thing anymore.” I said, raising my gaze to meet that of my Aunt.
I had an apologetic look on.
I knew my aunt had always looked forward to my wedding with Lucas.
She never condemned him when I introduced him as my boyfriend, and it hurts me to see that I was about to break that in her.
” What do you mean, Alessia?”
” I called off the wedding.” I said in one breath, biting the walls of my mouth so hard that I could taste my blood on my tongue.
” What!” Her eyes widened, while my fists tightened, almost turning white. ” Come again, I don’t understand what you mean. You must be joking right?” She chuckled, her voice breaking.
” No, Aunt. I’m not joking. I called off the wedding one month ago.” I replied.
” Why? Why did you call off the wedding? There must be a reason, isn’t there?”
I didn’t know how to tell her that Lucas cheated on me with my best friend.
Elisa and Emma would mock me, and though I don’t care if I was mocked or not, I couldn’t bring myself to say the truth.
My pride, my self-esteem would be bruised.
” No reason.” I flashed her a hurtful smile. ” He wasn’t good enough for me. I found out one month ago.”
That was another lie.
I wasn’t the type who lies, but since my broken engagement with Lucas and Cassius crawling his way into my life, I have been constantly lying.
” That can be true.” My aunt reached out to hold my hand.
Once she held my hands, I felt like spilling out the truth, but it would ruin uncle William’s birthday, and that was the least I wanted.
” Aunt, I’m sorry if I disappointed you.” I started, rubbing her hands against mine. ” I don’t think I will be getting married anytime soon. Love and marriage isn’t meant for everyone remember? And I’m part of those people.”
” I knew it. She’s just out to disgrace our family.” Elisa rolled her eyes, her voice filled with venom and hatred.
I knew that for a fact.
I’ve always been a disgrace to the Rossi family, so I’ve decided to stop being a disgrace to them.
” Mom, stop crying for her. She’s not worth your tears.” Emma added, her voice filled with disdain.
” Lucy, Emma is right. You’re going to ruin my birthday with your tears.”
” Yes, Aunt. They are correct.” I smiled. ” Today is a happy day. Let’s enjoy it.”
Aunt Lucy nodded, wiped her tears, and cupped my cheeks.
” I know for sure that there’s a reason why you ended the relationship. I trust your judgement Alessia. Whatever is best for yourself, do it.”
I was moved to tears by her words.
Aunt Lucy made me feel loved. She replaced the hollowness deep inside my heart that was left when my parents were murdered.
Even though she wasn’t able to fill the hollowness completely, she did her best, and for that, I would be forever grateful.
” Thank you Aunt.” I sniffled and hugged her tightly, while she patted my back.
While we were crying in each other’s arms, Elisa and Emma were glaring daggers at me.
They felt like killing me and burying me deep inside the ocean.
” Aunt, I need to leave. I’m on shift tonight.” I smiled once I broke the hug and kissed her cheeks.
” Alright Alessia, I will call you.” She smiled also.
I left the hall and stood outside of the venue, inhaling the fresh air.
It felt like a burden had been lifted off my shoulders, and I couldn’t be more happy.
Just when I was about to get into my car, Elisa’s voice made me halt on my track.
” Do you think you will be able to take our mother from us?” She asked, her voice dripping with hatred and disdain.
The hatred she and Emma had for me accumulated even more over the years.
Maybe because I was more successful and independent than they were.
They have rich and capable parents, while I had none.
Everything they wanted was brought to them on a platter of gold, while I struggled to get mine.
They were jealous of everything I had. They wanted me to beg on my knees at their feet.
” What do you mean?” A frown appeared on my face as I turned to face her.
” Lucas cheated on you bitch, we know of that.” She smirked.
” And so?” I raised a brow. ” What does knowing get you? How about you tell your mom about it, because I give zero fucks about that.”
” Lucas is also getting married to Rachel.” She added, trying to get on my nerves.
” Yes, I know. I was invited and I will be attending with my man.” I replied, confidence radiating from my voice.
” So you’re dating the owner of your hospital? Aren’t you a whore?” Elisa asked, taking slow steps towards me.
” Thank you for the compliment, Elisa.” I smirked.
” It pains me to see an orphan like you excel in many things!” She said, her voice dripping with venom and her eyes burning with hatred. ” I wish I could kill you.”
” Well, I’m sorry, Elisa. I might be an orphan, but that doesn’t stop me from succeeding. You can shove your ass in hell for all I care.”
With that said, I entered my car and drove off.
Once I was far from the venue, my hands were quivering and hot tears left my eyes.
I couldn’t deny the fact that her words got me.
When she called me an orphan, it sank deep into my heart, and I was only able to hold back my tears for barely a few minutes.
