ALESSIA’S POV
I have no idea how I was able to scurry out of his deadly trap, but I was grateful I did.
I was at home since it was a Saturday evening, preparing to head to my Uncle’s birthday party.
Standing in front of the mirror, fully dressed with make-up one, I shut my eyes, inhaled and exhaled, before opening them.
I was trying to get myself together and not let my cousin’s words get to me.
I was sure they would be there with their friends and boyfriends, as we all attended the same college with Rachel and Lucas, but the feeling I felt within me was nothing short of dread.
I didn’t want to go, and I don’t have to go, but I couldn’t help it.
Ever since the death of my parents, Uncle Williams and his wife, Aunt Lucy took me in and treated me like their child.
I was happy, but only for a short while because their kids treated me like a slave.
They made me inferior while we were growing up.
Elisa and Emma hated me to the very core, and they would stop at nothing to treat me badly.
I endured every insult, pain they had caused me and grew up to be an independent strong lady.
” You’re grown up already. A full grown woman. Don’t let them treat you like you don’t matter. ” I said to myself through the mirror.
Once I was done, I picked up my bag and left my apartment.
My phone dinged, indicating I was sent a message.
When I checked, it was a message from Cassius, and I bit my red coloured lips.
” When is that asshole’s wedding?” He asked, referring to Lucas as an asshole.
” Tomorrow, by 10am.” I replied with a soft chuckle.
” Where are you now?” He sent another message.
” It’s none of your business.” I replied and dropped my phone back into my bag, started the car and drove off.
The drive to Uncle Williams’ mansion was just an hour drive from my apartment.
Despite their pleas for me to visit, I always gave one excuse or another.
I couldn’t face their daughter. I wasn’t bold enough.
Well, I didn’t lie when I told them I was busy due to my schedule as a doctor. It was the truth.
I pulled up in the driveway and alighted from my car.
The whole mansion was decorated and flocked with people of different calibre.
Influential and important men in all of Italy.
My uncle wasn’t an ordinary man. He is as influential as the dead prime minister.
Infact, the whole Rossi family are influential, but my parents were more wealthy than his brother, Williams, but after their death, most of my father’s properties were transferred to my uncle, which made him even more prominent.
I exhaled before stepping my foot into the mansion.
It’s been two years since I last came for a visit, and everything still felt just the way it was when I was still living there.
The curtains, the chandeliers, the rooms and the decorations and designs.
This mansion made me feel at home, except for Elisa and Emma who made my life more miserable than I ever thought it would be.
” Oh wow! Alessia is here!” My Aunt beamed happily, as she rushed to give me a hug.
” Good evening aunt. You’re looking as beautiful as ever.” I said, once we broke our hug.
” Don’t flatter me.” She waved me off.
” Good evening uncle Williams, and happy birthday.” I greeted him and he flashed me a smile.
” Welcome, Alessia.”
” Girls! Come greet your cousin.” Aunt Lucy said to Elisa and Emma, but they rolled their eyes at me, and walked out of the scene.
” Don’t worry Alessia. I guess they are in a bad mood.” Aunt Lucy said and I nodded.
I knew they were not in a bad mood, but they don’t just like the sight of me anywhere close.
They get agitated whenever they set their eyes on me, and for that reason, I have not even the slightest idea who it was.
I walked around and caught sight of some of my old classmates during my first year at colleges.
They were all friends of Elisa and Emma, so I tried to mingle with the before the birthday party began fully.
They were all giving me attitudes, like I was a parasite to them, I knew it was the girls doing.
I sat at the far end of the hall, sipping an apple juice while waiting for the party to commenced fully.
I was so bored that I had to scroll through my phone to roll away time.
Soon, the party began and more guests began to troupe in.
I was regretting not bringing CeCe along with me.
If she had come along, she would have helped with the boredom I was feeling at the moment.
While looking at all the guests, someone caught my eyes and a frown appeared on my face.
Tall body, built muscles, sharp jawline, striking blue eyes.
They belonged to someone I know too well. Someone whose word could make my clit throbbed and my core ache with needs and desires.
There he was, Cassius fucking Riven, standing beside other prominent personalities, alongside my Aunt and Uncle.
Turning towards where I stood, his eyes penetrated into mine, and he smirked darkly, causing my heart to race even faster.
How did he know about this party?
Different thoughts flew across my mind, but I still couldn’t get an answer for them.
I was still staring at me, when someone tapped my shoulder, jolting me out of my thoughts.
” Your uncle asked for your presence there.”
” Me?” I asked and the lady nodded.
I knew it was Cassius doing. He wanted me close to himself, not after the promise I made to him the day he bought Primrose Hospital.
FLASHBACK.
” Can’t you give me another simple task.” I peeled myself from his back and face him. ” I can’t be a whore for you. I don’t want that.”
” Then, you will let me into your life and when I deman for a fuck, you give it to me.” He replied, and I sighed.
” But I can’t give myself to you now.” I said, my eyes locked with his. ” I barely know you.”
” You don’t need to know me, Bunny. What matters is that, we fuck each other when we need to. That’s the plan.”
” Fine.” I groaned, and looked away from his penetrating gaze.
” Give me sometime to think about it.”
” I’m an impatient man. You better make a decision quickly before I change my mind.”
END OF FLASHBACK.
I could literally feel all eyes on me as I joined my Uncle and Aunt with other prominent personalities, including Cassius.
” Mr Cassius. This is also my daughter, Alessia.” Uncle Williams introduced me to him, like it was the first time we were meeting.
” Hi, Ms Alessia, you look radiant.” He complimented, his gaze boring holes on my body.
I could feel Emma throwing hateful glares at me, just because of a compliment from Cassius.
” Here are my two daughters.” Uncle Williams said, diverting Cassius gaze from my body.
” Hi, I’m Emma ” Emma stretched her hand for an handshake, which Cassius recieve with a fake smile.
If only they knew the devil behind that fake smile, I was sure they would run for their dear life.
And if only I could also run, but I can’t, not when I’m trapped under him.
” Hello, I’m Elisa.”
” It’s nice to meet you all.” Cassius replied with his smile tugging at his lips, making me to wonder if his jaws weren’t aching due to his constant smile.
Emma moved towards her dad and whispered into his ear, grinning from ear to ear.
” Mr, Cassius. My daughter here, Emma, likes you.” He started. ” And I would be glad if you consider her feelings.”
Cassius was silent for a second, and that silence felt like an hundred years to me.
I was desperate to hear his reply.
I was curious to know what he would say next.
” Well, I’m single, so it won’t hurt to have a taste of her, right?” He said with a light chuckle, and I felt my stomach tightened.
He wanted to have a fling with Emma right? Then he is free, because, I will also have a fling with some random stranger tonight, and see who wins in this game, he was trying to play.
