Callie instinctively glared at him, catching a glimpse of Nelson’s increasingly dangerous expression.
“Well, I wasn’t wrong, was I?” Jamir smiled at her. “You must have had a tough few years. You should relax and enjoy yourself.”
Before Callie could respond, Mr. Melton asked, “Jamir, do you two… know each other?”
“First love.”
Jamir’s words were shocking. Mr. Melton looked at Callie, then at the tense-faced Nelson. “Oh my, they say Jamir was quite the charmer when he was young. What a coincidence to run into your first love here. Mr. Oconnor, don’t you think it’s quite a coincidence?”
Callie gritted her teeth. Jamir was doing this on purpose, deliberately making things difficult for her.
“I mean, I was her first love,” Jamir said slowly, his gaze fixed on Nelson. The men locked eyes, both exuding an undeniable sense of danger.
Callie pressed her lips together, unwilling to get involved in their confrontation. She told the waiter, “I have my period and can’t go into the water. Let’s forget it.”
This statement effectively declined Jamir’s arrangement. The waiter looked at him for confirmation.
Jamir didn’t get angry. “Alright, let’s forget it then.”
The group followed the waiter to the dining room. Nelson walked ahead without looking back at Callie. As they passed through the corridor, a door to one of the private rooms suddenly opened, and a woman stepped out, surprised to see him. “Nelson!”
It was Charlotte. She was dressed lightly, her figure not very full but youthful and delicate like a young girl.
Nelson stopped. “What are you doing here?”
Charlotte stepped aside to give him a clear view. “I heard the hot springs here at Anbusea are amazing, and the vegetarian meals are delicious too. So I brought my mother here for a visit.”
Inside the room, a woman was dining elegantly-it was Sienna.
Nelson’s expression softened as he nodded slightly in greeting. “Sienna.”
“You have good taste, young lady. The vegetarian meals here are indeed excellent,” Jamir chimed in with a smile. “How about this? I’ll cover your expenses for today.”
He looked at the waiter as he spoke.
Charlotte didn’t have time to refuse before it was settled. She thanked him and then approached Nelson closely, whispering, “Nelson, my mother will be going back to pray later. I’ll be so bored alone. Can I join you?”
Nelson responded without hesitation, “We’re discussing business matters. It’s not convenient for you as a girl.”
“Why not? Isn’t she… here too?” Charlotte glanced at Callie, her voice trailing off.
Nelson’s expression grew increasingly impatient.
“Join us. It’s boring alone,” Callie suddenly spoke up with a smile.
Charlotte hadn’t expected her to agree, and even Nelson frowned slightly. With no room to argue further, he nodded.
Charlotte clung to Nelson’s arm as they walked ahead.
Callie watched their intimate backs with an unusual calmness. Jamir appeared beside her at some point. “They actually make a good match.”
Callie glanced sideways. “Satisfied?”
Jamir chuckled softly. “I don’t understand.”
Callie didn’t want to engage with him.
At the table, Charlotte naturally sat next to Nelson, attentively taking care of him and frequently serving him food.
Jamir took the opportunity to sit beside Callie, occasionally speaking to her. Though she showed no pleasant expression, Mr. Melton noticed and remarked enviously, “Oh dear, if I’d known you were bringing partners today, I wouldn’t have come alone. Are you all satisfied now?”
