Oliver, Elena, and Xavier walked out of the gigantic building, their steps echoing in the empty parking lot. The sun had just set, and the sky was turning a deep shade of purple.
“That meeting with the Elder Committee was intense,” Oliver said, rubbing his temples.
“I know. I thought we had everything under wraps. It seems like word travels fast in the supernatural community.”
“Yeah, it won’t be long until our pack members find out about it. Once they do, it’ll only be a matter of time before the rumors spread.”
The three of them stood in silence for a moment, each lost in their own thoughts.
“We need to let our pack know about this before things get out of hand. We should be upfront about what’s going on.”
“I think it would be best if Reena, Lisa, Ruth, and Elena arrange for a meeting with the pack members. We can explain the situation to them. We can answer questions they might have. Plus, it’ll give Elena a chance to practice her leadership skills and prepare for when she takes over Luna’s duties in the future.”
“Thats a great idea, Xavier. What do you think, Elena?” Oliver asked and look at Elena to see her lost in her thought and looking down at the ground.
“Hey, Elena, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Xavier asked, asked, frowning his brow.
“Xavier, am I really your mate?” Elena asked, looking at him with tears beaming in her eyes. The unexpected question hit him like a ton of bricks, causing him to stumble back a few steps. His mind raced, trying to process the implications of what he had just heard. He takes a long breath to calm himself down.
“What do you mean, Elena? Why are you asking that?”
“The elder said that I didn’t gain my wolf and transformed into the wolf after mating with you. You also said that when a human mated with a Lycian, they gain their Lycian and transformed into their Lycian form. Not only that, but they also experience changes in their body like their skin glowing with brightness and their senses like eyesight, smell, and hearing heightened. But didn’t experience any of those changes too,” Elena said as tears fall from her eyes.
“Don’t cry Elena and don’t take the elder’s words to your heart. You are my mate. A werewolf never makes when recognizes his or her mate.” Xavier said, wiping her tears and hugging her.
“You feel sparks all over your body whenever Xavier and I touched you, didn’t you?”
“Yes,”
“It’s mean you are our mate because we werewolf only feels sparks running all over our body only when our better half touched us,”
“And we only know when our wolf got excited and told us that our mate was nearby when we met her for the first time in our life. When you have come for the interview in my company, I felt my Lycian Knight going crazy inside my mind in joy and wanted me to claim you as soon as possible. If you weren’t human and I was not afraid of scaring you, I would have claimed you.”
“True, and the same thing goes for me and my wolf Roy too,”
“Then why didn’t I gain my Lycian and have my first shift?”
“As I told you before, it was because it hasn’t been long since we have mated with each other, and there is also a possibility that having two alphas mate affected you in some way and has stopped your growth. We will look into this matter when we reach home, okay?” Xavier asked, and Elena nodded her head.
After taking care of the remaining work in LA, the three of them head home and call for an emergency meeting at Oliver’s house. Oliver told them everything that had happened in the meeting with the elders.
“We should have thought about why Elena didn’t receive her wolf yet, at least we would have answered their question which would have put us an advantage.”
“True,”
“It will not be easy to find the answers to Elder’s question, since we haven’t even found any information about a werewolf having two mates, let alone a human having two mates,”
“Don’t worry Elena, we will find out the reason and also find the solution for it,” Ruth said, trying to comfort her.
“While coming home, we thought that it would be better to inform our pack about Elena and the merging of our pack before they find out about this through someone else.”
“Thats a good idea. Don’t forget to invite our allies. It would be better if they knew about it from us than someone else,”
“Okay, would it be okay if Elena plans for the banquet Luna Ruth, Lisa, and Reena help her with it? It will help Elena know more about pack and pack duties before she officially becomes the Luna of our pack?”
“Where will we go to hold that banquet?” Ruth asked.
“I think it would be better to hold the banquet at the place where the main pack house is going to be built,” Lisa suggested.
“Talking about the main pack house, have you got in contact with the construction companies? Have they told you when will they work on building it?”
“Yes, they called me yesterday and informed me it will take them at least a month to gather the material and labor.”
“Then I think it would be okay to arrange the banquet there. I think 2 weeks is enough to prepare for the banquet, right?” Jason, Oliver’s father asked and Ruth nodded her head.
“While they prepare for the banquet, I and Xavier will continue our search about this matter,”
“I will also ask my aunt to look into this matter,” Xavier said, and with that, they dismissed the meeting.
After the meeting, Ruth gathered Lisa, Reena, and Elena and led them to her office to discuss preparations for the pack banquet. Ruth asked Elena if she had any ideas on how she would like to throw the banquet for them.
Elena smiled and said, “I was thinking of a big open bonfire banquet. It’ll be cozy and fun for everyone, and we can all sit around the fire and chat.”
Ruth nodded in agreement and asked Elena if she had seen the new map that Oliver had given them. Elena eagerly replied, “Yes, I have it right here.” She pulled out the map from her bag and laid it down on the table.
Elena then pointed to a spot in the middle of the forest on the map and said, “I want to set a big bonfire here. And around it, we can have small bonfires where the pack members can sit in groups and chat with each other.”
Ruth was impressed with Elena’s idea and asked her to continue. Elena went on to say, “Beside the bonfires, we can have stalls selling hard and soft drinks, and different starters for the guests. On the left side of the bonfire, we can serve the main course for everyone, with tables and chairs for them to enjoy it to their heart’s content.”
“On the right side of the bonfire, we can have two different dance floors for adults and children, and at the back, we can set up a stage for us to make an announcement to everyone.”
“I would also like to have some clothes hidden for them just in case they would like to go for a run since werewolves, likes to run wild in the forest.”
“So, what are you planning to serve the pack members and guests at the banquet?” Ruth asked Elena.
Elena smiled and replied, “For starters, I was thinking of serving bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms, sweet potato fries, and grilled artichokes with aioli dipping sauce. I also have some buffalo chicken dip with tortilla chips and bacon-wrapped scallops in mind. What do you think?”
Ruth nodded in approval, impressed by Elena’s choices. “Those all sound delicious. And for the main dishes?”
Elena thought for a moment before answering, “Well, I know that werewolves mostly enjoy non-vegetable dishes, especially meat. So, I was thinking of serving some grilled steak with roasted vegetables, pan-seared salmon with dill sauce, and chicken parmesan. I’ll also include some pizza, burgers, lasagna, and pasta in the main dishes, just in case anyone prefers those. What do you think?”
Ruth nodded again and said, “That sounds like a wonderful variety. And what about dessert?”
Elena grinned and said, “I have ice cream, fruit tart, cake, cheesecake, and pastries in mind. Something for everyone’s sweet tooth.”
Ruth was impressed with Elena’s planning and attention to detail. “Wow, Elena, it hasn’t been that long since you started living with us, and you’ve already learned so much about werewolves and what they like. I’m really impressed.”
“Thank you,” Elena said, blushing a little at the compliment.
“How did you know that the werewolf mostly enjoys non-veg dishes?” Reena asked.
“I have noticed Oliver and you guys mostly enjoying non-veg dishes and have guessed that because it takes a lot of energy to shift between their human and wolf’s form which they mostly receive from eating meat.”
As Elena finished explaining. An Omega who came to call them for dinner interrupted them. They all left the office and headed toward the dining area.
During dinner, Ruth couldn’t help but share with everyone how impressed she was with Elena’s knowledge and planning skills. “You know, Elena has been living with us for such a short time, but she’s already learned so much about our kind and has some really great ideas for the banquet.”
Lisa nodded in agreement and added, “Yes, and she’s been so helpful around the pack house, too. We’re lucky to have her with us.”
The others at the table all chimed in with their own praises for Elena, and she blushed a little, feeling grateful for their kind words.
She was scared that she wouldn’t be able to mix up with their kind and would be outcast by them after what happened in the meeting with the elders, but she was grateful that was not the case, as everyone showered her with love and praise. She feels like she is worried in vain. No one can hurt her as long as she has such loving people by her side.
