Upon hearing Leo’s question, Prince Caius was momentarily stunned. He could tell that Leo did not want to go.
It was important to note that the emperor had arranged for the Golden Beast Carriage to invite him, a gesture of immense honor and prestige, yet someone was unwilling to go.
It truly confirmed the old saying-there is nothing strange under the sun.
Prince Caius’s expression changed slightly. He looked at Leo and said warmly, “Lord Leo, I am a bit thirsty. May I have a cup of tea at your residence?”
Leo nodded slightly and gestured with his hand, “Please.”
In a flash, everyone appeared outside the gate of the Lord’s Manor.
The two beast carriages in the air, along with a hundred Golden Lion Guards, also landed on the ground.
Led by Leo, Prince Caius and the elder behind him entered the Lord’s Manor.
As Winston was about to enter, he was stopped by Christian. “Sorry, you don’t need to go in.”
Winston’s face turned red and then white with anger, almost written on his face.
Winston never imagined that one day he would be turned away at someone’s door.
Christian snorted coldly, not even looking at Winston as he turned and walked inside.
The guards outside the Lord’s Manor glared at Winston, ready to knock him down if he dared to force his way in.
“Damn dogs, I’ll remember you,” Winston muttered venomously as he watched Christian’s back.
Inside the Lord’s Manor, in the main hall.
After everyone was seated and tea was served, Leo spoke directly, “Prince Caius, please answer my previous question.”
Prince Caius cupped his hands and replied, “My father invites Lord Leo to the palace not only to meet you but also to ask for your help in treating my sister Lyra’s injuries.”
“Your Lyra?” Leo raised an eyebrow.
“Yes, Princess Lyra.”
Leo pondered for a moment before saying, “As far as I know, there should be more than one Fourth-rank Alchemist in the Martial Dynasty.”
“Indeed, there are two others. One is our royal ancestor, who has been in seclusion for ten years and whose life or death is unknown. The other is Master Tanner, president of the Alchemist Association.”
“Lyra’s condition has been managed by Master Tanner but has not been cured.”
Prince Caius sighed deeply, clearly worried about his sister’s illness.
After hearing the reason, Leo fell silent.
If the emperor wanted to see him, Leo had no interest in traveling all the way to the capital. But if it was to treat someone and their family had come to ask for help, he had to consider it.
Seeing Leo hesitate, Prince Caius earnestly continued, “Lord Leo, Lyra is my father’s beloved daughter. She suffers greatly every day. Please do not refuse.”
“As for compensation, you need not worry. Whether you succeed or not, our royal family will not treat you unfairly. I thank you on behalf of my father and Lyra.”
Seeing Prince Caius’s sincere attitude improved Leo’s impression of him.
It is proper etiquette to humbly request medical help rather than demand it arrogantly.
“Alright, I will go with you,” Leo agreed.
Leo planned to visit the palace first and then head to Star Moon Lake. It seemed like perfect timing.
Traveling from the capital to Star Moon Lake was much closer than from Clearwind Town.
Another reason was that Leo did not want to make too many enemies. Having already offended the Runecarver Sect, it would be unwise to offend the Martial Dynasty’s royal family as well.
“Thank you, Lord Leo!” Prince Caius said joyfully.
“Prince Caius, please wait outside while I make some arrangements,” Leo said.
Prince Caius nodded and left the hall with the elder.
Outside, the elder asked softly, “Your Highness, do you believe he is truly a Fourth-rank Alchemist?”
“I initially believed it only slightly in the capital. Now I believe it more. Since he dares to come with us to the capital, he must have real skills. Even if he doesn’t cure Princess Lyra, I will have done my part,” Prince Caius replied.
In the hall.
Violet asked, “Leo, are you really going to the capital?”
Leo nodded. “I need to see it eventually. Besides, before the Runecarver Sect causes trouble, I need to visit Star Moon Lake.”
Leo had mentioned Star Moon Lake’s unnamed island to Violet and others.
In spiritual cultivation, resources and opportunities are essential for continuous breakthroughs.
A place where a Spirit God realm expert and especially a Pill Sovereign lived was not something Leo would miss.
“Alondra, you will manage Starfall Shop,” Leo said to Alondra.
“Don’t worry,” Alondra nodded solemnly.
Leo glanced at everyone. “The rest of you should focus on your cultivation. If anything happens while I’m away that you can’t handle, contact me immediately.”
“Yes, Lord!” everyone responded in unison.
“Elder Mike, you will accompany me to the capital,” Leo said to Mike.
Mike had lived in the capital for some time and was familiar with its situation.
“Yes, Lord,” Mike replied happily.
After making arrangements, Leo and Mike left the Lord’s Manor.
Prince Caius and the elder were already waiting by the Golden Beast Carriage.
As for Winston, he stood aside with a sullen face.
“Lord Leo, please board the Golden Beast Carriage,” Prince Caius said with a smile.
Leo nodded slightly and entered the carriage in a flash.
Mike took the driver’s seat of the Beast Carriage.
After Leo entered, Prince Caius and the elder boarded a silver Beast Carriage nearby.
With low roars from the lions pulling the golden carriage, their four paws emitted a golden light as they took off into the sky.
Next followed Prince Caius’s silver Beast Carriage and then the Golden Lion Guard.
Winston had originally been sitting where Mike was now but had to release his mount-a large vulture-from his Spirit Pouch instead.
The group left Clearwind Town and headed towards the capital.
The inside of the golden carriage was spacious with golden silk carpets underfoot and various rare Spirit Fruits on a small table.
In addition, there was an incense burner in the corner with Clarity Incense filling the carriage with a special fragrance.
