Ariel immediately noted the difference between Ken and Aiden.
Ken made her feel cozy and flustered, but Aiden made her feel strong waves of tingles and butterflies without even trying hard.
As she stared into his blue eyes, she realized that he was angry; his question wasn’t for himself; rather, he was repeating what he had heard Ken ask her. She instantly concluded that he had been watching them for a long time.
Ariel tried to move away from Aiden but he grabbed her behind the waist and drew her flush to himself.
“I asked, can I kiss you, Ariel?” He asked huskily beside her ear
Ariel shivered, feeling her pulse racing wildly against her ribcage. Somehow, Aiden’s forwardness and confidence managed to make her weak in the knees.
She knew she shouldn’t be getting swayed by him, but her body had a way of reacting and responding to him each time he came close to her.
She blinked and put her hands on his chest, trying to push him away, but he wouldn’t budge.
“Spying is an offense, Mr. Chaz,” She finally said, not looking into his eyes.
Aiden was intently looking down at her. He didn’t understand the feelings he had inside him. Ariel looked so different tonight. Different in a beautiful way.
He felt like he couldn’t take his eyes off her the whole night, and when he saw her walking out with Ken, he couldn’t lie to himself anymore, he knew that one of the feelings he felt was possessiveness. But he couldn’t understand why he was feeling possessive toward her.
“Spying, you say?” He asked slowly.
He looked at her radiant face and plump lips, his mind going back to the scene where Ken almost kissed her.
When he saw Ken’s arms around her waist, he felt waves of strong and unidentified emotions push against his heart, he felt like marching over there and throwing Ken over for touching his wife.
But when he listened in on their conversation, he understood that he was the one who gave them the right to be together. But then, when he saw that Ken was being relentless in his pursuit, he felt a strange urgency to take Ariel away from him.
He could not let himself stand and watch his wife get coveted by someone else right in front of him.
He raised his hand to her face, “I wasn’t Spying, little wife, I was just looking out for you,” He smirked at her.
Ariel sighed, shaking her head, “You’re making all these complicated, Mr Chaz. It’s not supposed to be so; you’re not supposed to be intruding on my personal life, Mr. Chaz; you’re going against the rules of the contract,” Ariel reminded him quietly, her heart was still racing from the way Aiden was looking at her. Like he wanted to eat her raw.
Aiden heard her, but he chose to ignore her comments about the contract; tonight, he didn’t feel like talking about the contract.
“Relax, Ariel,” Aiden said in a whisper, “I just don’t want someone I know getting into the wrong hands,” He gently pushed her closer and caged her to the wall, his arms beside her.
Ariel snapped her head up at him as she heard what he’d just said, his handsome face leaning closer to hers.
“You don’t want me going into the wrong hands?” She questioned incredulously.
“Yes,” He nodded seriously.
Ariel scoffed In disbelief, “I’m already in the wrong hands, Mr Chaz, what difference would it make?”
Aiden paused, understanding what she meant.
She thought of him as a bad person, “Am I that bad to you?” He questioned innocently.
Ariel was at a loss for words, she could not believe Aiden would be asking her such a question. Didn’t he know himself?
“I’m sorry, Mr Chaz, but, this conversation is unofficial, and I can’t carry it on with you,” She said and pushed against his chest again.
Aiden seemed not to like her answer because his face turned angry immediately.
“You can’t hold a conversation with your husband, but you can chat all night long with your boyfriend, huh?” Aiden asked with a raised voice, grabbing her cheeks between his fingers.
“Why do you care? Whoever I chat with is none of your business,” Ariel replied firmly, not backing down this time.
She needed to make him understand that he was the only person making all the rules and yet the only person not keeping to them.
“Because I’m fucking trying to protect you! Ken is not who you think he is!” Aiden lost it and let his anger and jealousy overtake him.
He was staring at Ariel’s face, his emotions changing every second as he saw her repulsive expressions.
Did he really repulse her?
“Then don’t. I didn’t ask for your protection, and I never will, please, don’t make this any more complicated than it already is,” Ariel said softly.
Aiden felt Ariel’s resignation and felt his heart slump; he didn’t want their conversation to take this turn; he had wanted to express the unknown feeling he had within him, but he ended up making everything worse like he always did with her.
“Ariel,” He called quietly.
Ariel sighed before looking up at him.
“What do you want from me, Mr. Chaz?” Her voice was smooth like silk, soothing the raging emotions within Aiden’s soul.
Aiden lifted her face, using his thumb to wipe across her lips, “I don’t know what else to say to you, I know I should say more, but I don’t know how what to say…” He lowered his forehead to hers, removing his thumb from her lips and slowly sliding his hand behind her neck.
“I don’t know what to say, Ariel, but I know what I want to do,” He took a deep breath with his eyes closed.
“I’m going to kiss you, Ariel,” He murmured.
Ariel was trapped; she couldn’t fight him, for it seemed like whatever possessed him at that moment had possessed her, too. This gentle side of Aiden always had a way of turning her stupid and irrational. She never seemed to have control over mind and body whenever he went soft and gentle at her.
“Me too, Aiden… I want to – Mm,” Her lips shut as Aiden’s warm lips pressed against hers.
Aiden had lost it when he heard her call his first name… again.
He had noticed that Ariel calling his first name was a huge turn-on for him.
He kissed her softly at first, and then when he remembered how Ken had held her in his arms, his jealousy swallowed him. He grabbed her waist and with a swift tilt of his head, he deepened the kiss with an intensity that made Ariel cling to him as the only solid thing in a swaying world.
Ariel moaned into the kiss, tipping her toes as the kiss got more intense.
Aiden sucked her bottom lip into his mouth, sliding his tongue around her lips and then delving into her mouth to taste her tongue.
“Mm…” Ariel moaned, feeling heady.
Aiden’s hands went behind her and gently grabbed her ass and press her again his hips, making her feel his growing bulge through his pants.
Ariel froze as she felt something poking her center, a knee-crippling tingly feeling washing over her as Aiden ground his hip against hers.
“Aiden…” Ariel broke away from him, breathless and flushed.
“You look beautiful tonight, Ariel,” Aiden heard himself whisper breathlessly.
Ariel’s eyes widened as she heard his compliment.
“You… you complimented me?” She chuckled softly.
Aiden was still holding her to himself, placing his forehead on hers again, “I only said the truth, little wife, you’re mine, and I don’t appreciate it when what’s mine tries to get away from me,” He looked intently into her eyes.
“I’m yours? You see me as an object you own right?” She was disappointed by him yet again.
All this was because he felt like Ken was trying to take away his plaything.
And there she was, delusioning herself that maybe, Aiden was changed.
Aiden was quiet; he had something to say to her, but his mouth could not just seem to let it out.
He watched Ariel’s disappointed face as she slowly removed herself from him, and walked farther away from him.
“I’m tired, I’ll find my way back,” Ariel said and went to enter the elevator on her own.
“Wait,” Aiden caught her arm before she could enter the opened elevator door.
Ariel paused but didn’t turn back to look at him.
“I meant it when I said I’ll take you home,” He said and led her into the elevator.
He didn’t bother telling anyone they were leaving, he just drove them straight back home. The ride was quiet and he noticed Ariel trying her best to look away from him.
He didn’t like it, somehow, he had wanted tonight to end differently for them.
Ariel quickly went into the house the moment they arrived, rushing to go up to her room.
“Welcome back, daughter-in-law,” She paused at Grandma Nari’s voice coming from the dining.
“Ah, Grandma, your back; I and my wife were just heading up to our room; we’ll see you in the morning,” Aiden quickly came and placed his arms on Ariel’s waist and subtly led her away from the old woman’s scrutinizing eyes.
Ariel felt distressed; she had wished the old woman had arrived tomorrow, but she was here tonight, and now, she had to sleep with Aiden, after what happened between them on the rooftop…
