Aiden’s POV
The morning sun had barely risen over the pack house when I joined the other warriors on the training field. I am still trying to get used to the routine, I am still adjusting to the strict discipline of the pack house, especially since Ethan made sure no one treated me differently. I was just like every other warrior here, and no one knew I was an Alpha. I was simply part of the drill like everyone else, I live in the Omega quarters with the Omegas which irritates Smoke a lot but we had to do this for Crescent Pack, Leo, and most importantly Shenaya.
The field was buzzing with warriors filled with energy and ready to train. I could feel the anticipation in the air, and as the morning drill began, I realized the reason behind the anticipation. Ethan was leading the drill personally instead of Lucas, his Beta.
Ethan’s presence was formidable despite his slightly slimmer frame. He looked lean, almost fragile, but his reputation as a fighter was well-known.
In my one week of stay here, this is the first time Ethan will be leading the drills as he was always busy with his company in the human world.
“Alright, pick your partners,” Ethan barked in order as we all lined up with him at the forefront of the field and his Beta Lucas right beside him. I was about to pair with another warrior when Ethan and I locked eyes.
“Aiden,” He called out, his eyes not leaving mine “with me”
I smirked as I stepped forward, finally, someone to match my energy. I gave Ethan’s build, lean, and muscular body a quick glance. He was built but not as broad as me.
‘This should be interesting,’ Smoke said. I smirked to myself, confident in my abilities. Ethan has this mischief in his eyes I couldn’t point out in his eyes.
The other warriors watched closely as two Alphas squared off, though they were unaware of my true status. To them, I was just another powerful warrior, but there was something about the way we moved that hinted at superior abilities to some of them.
The fight began.
I started with a strong and heavy punch which he blocked effortlessly. Ethan’s counterattack was a swift hard and precise punch to my ribs that made me grunt in surprise. There was a strength in him that didn’t match his appearance.
He returned the favor by throwing his first punch and I realized I had made a mistake by judging him by his appearance. Through his first punch, he was clearly stronger but I wasn’t ready to back down. Not in the beginning of this fight.
I tried to balance myself and threw him another punch which heavy punch that he didn’t even flinch upon. He watched my stance and before I could even react, he threw me a bunch of heavy punches I couldn’t resist their pain.
We exchanged punches, blood for blood. Punch for punch. I realized this wasn’t going to be an easy fight. Ethan was fast, too fast and strong, every hit from him felt like it was packed with twice the power of mine.
The fight dragged on, and in the end, we were both battered and bruised. The smell of blood filled the air as we healed just as fast as were wounded. Ethan landed his final, devastating blow to my chest which sent me to the ground.
The crowd of warriors cheered and their respect for Ethan was clearly on display. I lay on the ground, panting with my chest heaving as I tried to catch my breath. I had underestimated Ethan, a mistake I would never make again.
“Not bad,” Ethan said, offering me a hand to help me up. “But remember, size isn’t everything.”
I grunted, accepting his hand and defeat in embarrassment while he pulled me to my feet. I didn’t bother to say anything because I knew there was going to be a rematch. Smoke isn’t ready to accept that defeat easily.
After the bitter defeat, I found my way to my room in the Omega quarters, my body still ached from the intense fight. I stripped down and stepped into the shower, letting the hot water wash away the blood and sweat. The steam helped soothe my sore muscles. I stayed there longer than usual, allowing myself to relax. According to the Omega’s whispers, I have heard that this is the best room in the quarters and for a moment I was grateful for this shower.
I stepped out of the shower with water dripping down my body, I didn’t bother to reach for a towel since I was in my room. I walked into the room completely naked.
And that’s when I froze.
Shenaya was standing in the middle of the room, staring wide-eyed at my naked form.
For a moment, neither of us spoke, it was as if time froze. Her eyes widened in shock with her cheeks flushing a deep red as she tried to avert her gaze but couldn’t quite tear her eyes away.
“Who comes out of the shower without a towel on?” Shenaya finally shouted, clearly embarrassed and frustrated. She quickly covered her face with her hands, trying to hide her flushed cheeks.
I was amused by her reaction. It’s been a long time since I last saw this version of her, and seeing her flustered like this reminded me of the shy girl she used to be.
“Who goes into other people’s rooms without permission?” I teased without making any effort to cover myself.
Shenaya groaned in frustration while still keeping her eyes firmly averted.
“You’re impossible!” she muttered, fumbling around before grabbing a towel from a nearby chair and tossing it at me. “Cover yourself!”
I caught the towel but didn’t immediately use it because I was enjoying her reaction too much.
“Is this how you go into your male Omega’s rooms to harass them? Getting a sneak peek at their nakedness?” I said with a wide grin as I watched her squirm.
“What? No!” She stammered, clearly flustered. “I-I came here to-” She paused “You know what? Never mind!” She spun on her heel with her face as red as a tomato and rushed out of the room.
My laughter echoed through the room as the door slammed shut behind her before finally wrapping the towel around my waist while I chuckled to myself.
