Shenaya’s PoV
I sat under a tree just outside the pack territory thinking to myself in the dense forest. The night air was cool, but it didn’t calm the turmoil inside me. I had never had any reason to step out of the pack territory and now that I am here, I understand why the pack leaders always preach to never step out of the pack.
I knew I shouldn’t stay here for long because the forest was creepy, and I had heard stories about rogue wolves lurking around the pack territory. If I didn’t care about my safety, I had to care about my pup’s.
‘We should go back. This place isn’t safe,’ Lily, my wolf, said with her voice filled with concern.
I nod in agreement, I stood up and brush the dirt off my clothes. Just as I turned to make my way back to the pack, I froze at the sight of Skylar who was standing right behind me with a mischievous smirk plastered to her face.
“Where do you think you’re going, whore?” she sneered, her eyes gleaming with disgust.
I took a step back and tried to maintain my calmness. “Skylar, let’s talk this out. We don’t need to do this.”
“Talk? Do you really think there’s anything left to talk about? You’ve ruined everything, and now you’re going to pay.” She gave me an extreme cold stare and I shiver.
“Skylar, please,” I pleaded with my heart pounding almost jumping out of it’s cage. “Think about the pack. Think about the consequences when Aiden finds out you hurt me or his pup”.
Her expression hardened. “There’s no consequences because he is never going to find out. There’s no way you can survive a fall from this cliff especially with the fact that you are an Omega wolf.”
“You and your pup are a threat, and I’m going to eliminate that threat right now.”
Before I could react, she lunged at me, her hands pushing me with a force that took my breath away and I stumbled backward. I tried my best to maintain my stance but my feet slipped on the edge of the cliff. Panic surged through me as I felt myself teetering on the brink.
“Skylar, no!” I screamed and fear for my life, I stretched my arms around to at least find something to hold onto but I couldn’t find any.
She smiled wickedly, and watched with satisfaction as I lost my balance.
“Goodbye, Shenaya.” She waved at me with a grin
The next thing I knew, I was rolling off the cliff, my body tumbling through the air. Fear gripped me, but my thoughts were only on my pup. I wrapped my arms protectively around my stomach and prayed for a miracle.
As I hit the ground, pain exploded through my body, and everything went black.
Skylar’s Pov
I watched from the shadows as Shenaya ran through the forest, her silhouette barely visible in the fading light. I had to wait for the right moment to strike, I bid my time until darkness fell.
My initial plan doesn’t include eliminating her, but the opportunity presented itself, and I couldn’t resist taking advantage.
I told Shenaya about Alfred’s death intentionally. Of course, I knew she wasn’t aware. I expected her to run to her father’s house, so I could have the space I needed with Aiden. But when she ran into the forest, I saw the opportunity to unalive her once and for all.
I watched as she disappeared into the trees, I smirked to myself.
‘Fool’, Venom my Wolf scoffed. ‘She had no idea what evil is coming to hit her.’
I followed her quietly and stayed out of sight. She stopped and sat under a big wavy tree, I knew it was time. The forest was already dark and creepy, the perfect setting for what I had planned.
I waited for the right moment, then stepped out from the shadows, my eyes gleaming with evil. “Where do you think you’re going, whore?” I sneered.
She turned, her face pale with fear. “Skylar, let’s talk this out,” she said, her voice trembling.
“Skylar, please,” she pleaded. “Think about the pack. Think about the consequences when Aiden finds out you hurt me or his pup”. That made me even angrier.
“There’s no consequences because he is never going to find out. There’s no way you can survive a fall from this cliff especially with the fact that you are an Omega wolf.” I wanted to strike her but had control myself.
I lunged at her and pushed her with all my strength with a swift motion. She stumbled backward, her feet slipped on the edge of the cliff. The look of terror in her eyes made Venom jump in satisfying. Venom has always hated her for sleeping with her mate.
“Skylar, no!” she screamed, reaching out in vain.
I watched with satisfaction as she lost her balance and fell, her body tumbling through the air. “Goodbye, Shenaya,” I said, smiling wickedly.
I waited until her screams faded, I then turned and walked away, my mind already working on the next part of my plan. I picked up the dead body of a random girl I killed earlier today and hung her body from a tree just at the entrance of the pack territory.
I cast a spell on her, and there she was in all her glory: a perfect imitation of Shenaya’s body hanging.
Everyone would believe Shenaya committed suicide because of what happened between her and Aiden while Aiden on the other hand would feel guilty for the death of the love of his life, and I would be there to comfort him. A perfect plan.
There was no need to retrieve Shenaya’s body because the cliff was too high, and her fell too severe. I will leave her body for the Foxes and other wild animals to take care of. There was no way that lowly Omega wolf could have survived the fall.
I should send the good news to Mighty because we were about to rule the longest reigning and most feared pack in all of Rome.
I smiled to myself, thinking about the treat Mighty would give me for making him happy. I couldn’t wait.
“I did it,” I whispered to the night, feeling a sense of pride. “I really did it.”
I took one last look at the body hanging from the tree and felt a rush of satisfaction. Everything was falling into place. Soon, Aiden would be mine, and the pack would be under our control.
“Yes,” I said with my voice filled with determination. “This is just the beginning.”
