Under the immense pressure bearing down on them, Chris’s breathing grew heavy, and his movements slowed. A massive black hand descended toward him, threatening to crush him into pulp.
Just as the situation reached a critical moment, a figure darted forward at lightning speed. The figure moved so fast that no one could react in time-not even Peter Gordon, whose full attention was fixated on Chris.
The figure’s target was none other than Daniel Williams. With a swift motion, the figure plunged a long sword directly into Daniel’s heart.
Daniel Williams, who had been chanting a spell, was caught completely off guard.
Thud!
The sword pierced his heart, and blood spattered everywhere. Daniel’s eyes widened with disbelief as he gasped for air. Moments later, his body collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
Boom!
As Daniel Williams died, the enormous black hand in the sky vanished instantly.
Peter Gordon’s face contorted with rage. He roared furiously, his entire demeanor becoming unhinged. The black aura enveloping his body rapidly dissipated, and as it faded completely, Peter collapsed to the ground.
Everything had happened so quickly that no one could process it.
Chris turned to the figure and smiled faintly. It wasn’t just anyone-it was Lord Valerian.
Chris approached Daniel’s lifeless body and noticed that the black aura around it had disappeared entirely. It was clear that Peter Gordon’s spiritual presence had left the body.
With Daniel Williams dead, Peter Gordon’s summoning was broken, forcing him to retreat from the human world.
Boom! Boom!
Suddenly, the sky darkened as thick black clouds gathered overhead. The earth was shrouded in darkness, as if it were midnight.
Moments later, a massive black vortex appeared in the sky, and from within it, a towering figure emerged.
The figure was colossal, clad in black robes adorned with serpentine patterns. Horns jutted from its head, and enormous black wings unfurled from its back.
It was none other than the true Peter Gordon.
Chris’s face turned pale at the sight of him. Taking a deep breath, he gritted his teeth and muttered, “Peter Gordon!”
Peter’s eyes locked onto Chris, filled with hatred. “Boy, mark my words. One day, I will return to this world. When that day comes, I’ll make you wish you were never born!”
Boom!
With those words, Peter Gordon’s massive figure began to dissipate. As he vanished, the sky returned to normal.
Chris exhaled deeply, relieved. It seemed that what they had just witnessed was merely a projection of Peter Gordon. If it had been his true form, Chris would not have survived.
Even so, the overwhelming power of Peter’s projection left Chris trembling. Peter Gordon’s strength was beyond anything he had imagined.
Chris frowned as he recalled Peter’s parting words. Was Daniel Williams merely a pawn in Peter’s plan to descend into the human world?
If Peter Gordon, an ancient demon god, were to truly manifest on Earth, it would spell disaster for humanity. His immense power could bring unimaginable destruction.
Fortunately, it appeared that Peter Gordon could not descend at will. If he could, there would have been no need for Daniel to search for suitable vessels for possession.
With Daniel’s death, chaos erupted among the rebel forces.
Without Daniel’s command, the Super Warriors became uncontrollable. They began attacking indiscriminately, killing both allies and enemies. Even the rebels suffered heavy losses at their hands.
Screams filled the air as rebels fell one after another to the Super Warriors. The higher-ups of the Hall of Death attempted to flee but were ultimately torn apart by the rampaging warriors.
Chris’s expression grew grim as he watched the Super Warriors spiral out of control. If they descended the mountain, it would be catastrophic for Willington Castle.
Gripping the Dragon Slayer sword tightly, Chris issued a command: “Everyone, follow me! We must eliminate these Super Warriors!”
Leading the charge, Chris and Lord Valerian, along with the Death Guards, launched a relentless assault on the Super Warriors.
However, their sheer numbers made it impossible to eliminate them all quickly.
Ratatatat!
Suddenly, the sound of gunfire echoed from the foot of the mountain. Chris froze for a moment. Could it be Tiger and his forces?
Turning to look, he saw Tiger leading an army up Hill Dragon.
Chris’s face lit up with joy.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions erupted as bombs rained down on the Super Warriors and the rebels. With Tiger’s reinforcements, the enemies were driven back toward the mountain’s summit.
Seizing the opportunity, Chris grabbed his radio and issued an order: “Alligator, commence bombardment on the designated area!”
“Yes, sir!”
Moments later, missiles screamed through the air.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The massive explosions flattened the summit of Hill Dragon, engulfing it in flames. The shockwaves were so powerful that even Willington Castle trembled.
Chris raised his hand and shouted, “Retreat!”
At his command, the allied forces withdrew like a tide.
After the bombardment ceased, Chris ordered a thorough sweep of the mountain to ensure that no Super Warriors escaped.
With tens of thousands of soldiers conducting the sweep, all the Super Warriors were eliminated.
The rebel forces, demoralized by Daniel’s death, fell into disarray. Many surrendered under the overwhelming assault.
Chris finally let out a sigh of relief.
Although the rebellion had been quelled and Daniel Williams was dead, Peter Gordon remained a looming threat. His power far exceeded that of Daniel, and if left unchecked, he could cause even greater devastation in the future.
The battle at Willington Castle raged on for an entire day, with sporadic skirmishes continuing into the next.
Though they had secured victory, the cost was steep. Of the 500, 000 soldiers, nearly 100, 000 were killed or wounded.
Trucks roared through the streets, carrying the bodies of fallen soldiers and the injured.
Lynx approached Chris.
“Is the battle over?” Chris asked.
Lynx nodded. “Master, the battle is mostly finished, but we suffered heavy losses…”
Chris sighed quietly. Losses were inevitable in war.
