Chapter 537: He Was Unstoppable in Everything

Book:Back To Thrones Published:2025-2-9

When Kayden received the news, he had accidentally fallen asleep on the balcony.
Without a moment’s hesitation, he rushed to the hospital in a frenzy.
By the time he arrived at Hiphia First Hospital, Georgia had already been moved to the isolation ward. Standing at the door of the ward, he saw the grief-stricken Adams couple and Luther.
The moment Scarlett spotted Kayden, she pointed at him and shouted, “You! You! You scoundrel! How dare you show your face here? What did you do to our Georgia? Why is she like this now?”
Kayden sighed helplessly. “Mom, I want to know what happened too. But you won’t give me a chance to explain, and neither will Georgia.”
This was one of the rare moments in his life when he felt powerless. He genuinely wanted to understand what had happened.
“Smack!”
Scarlett stepped forward and slapped Kayden across the face.
The slap didn’t hurt him at all. With his internal energy restored to six levels, his self-defense mechanism had reached a point where any force directed at him would rebound. In truth, it was Scarlett’s hand that ended up stinging from the impact.
But Scarlett didn’t care about her pain. She remained standing there, fuming, and pointed at Kayden. “If anything happens to Georgia, I swear I won’t let you off!”
“Get out of here, you bastard!” Luther shouted before Harvey could even speak. He was so furious he seemed about to explode as he stormed toward Kayden.
Kayden could tolerate Scarlett hitting him and Harvey blaming him, but he could not stand Luther yelling at him. Who was Luther to him? Nothing. In Kayden’s eyes, Luther was insignificant, unworthy of barking orders.
When Luther got close, Kayden reached out and grabbed him by the throat without hesitation. His face darkened as he growled, “You’re in no position to shout at me! This is my family’s business, and it’s not your place to interfere. I could kill you right now. Do you believe me?”
Luther struggled desperately to speak or fight back, but it was futile. Kayden’s grip was too strong; he was entirely at Kayden’s mercy. In that moment, Kayden perfectly demonstrated the meaning of being powerful.
Luther’s life hung by a thread, entirely under Kayden’s control. Whether he lived or died was up to Kayden’s whim.
“Let go of him, you bastard!” Harvey shouted, stepping forward in a panic as he pointed at Kayden furiously.
Before Harvey could intervene, the door to the emergency ward opened, and a doctor in a white coat walked out.
Seeing this, Kayden released Luther immediately. Luther coughed violently, his face red with anger, and glared at Kayden. “Just you wait! I’ll make you pay for this!”
“Doctor, how’s my daughter? Is she okay?” Scarlett asked anxiously, her face filled with worry.
The doctor nodded. “The patient is fine. She suffered significant emotional distress. Recently, she’s likely been experiencing excessive anxiety and sorrow, which led to her collapse. She just needs rest and to avoid anything or anyone that might upset her. She’ll recover soon. Don’t worry.”
Scarlett let out a long sigh of relief. “Thank you, Doctor.”
“Can we go in to see her now?” she asked.
The doctor replied, “Yes, but the patient’s emotions are still unstable. Make sure anyone who might upset her stays out.”
Hearing this, Kayden naturally wanted to go in and see Georgia, but Scarlett blocked his way as he approached the door.
“Kayden, what do you think you’re doing? Do you want Georgia to faint again?” she said coldly.
Kayden paused, then said, “Mom, I just want to check on her. Don’t worry, she’ll be fine.”
“Enough!” Scarlett jabbed a finger at his chest. “Don’t say another word. Georgia is like this because of you. Her mood was terrible last night. I don’t know what happened between you two, but right now, the last person she wants to see is you. If you truly care about her, stay away. If you want to upset her, then go ahead. If you want to see her hurt again, be my guest!”
With that, Scarlett turned and entered the ward. Harvey followed with a snort.
Luther, still recovering from being choked, dusted himself off and smirked at Kayden. “Kid, I’m Georgia’s boyfriend now. If I find out you’ve hurt her, I’ll make sure you regret it.”
After delivering his threat, Luther strutted into the ward.
Kayden stood at the door but didn’t go in. Instead, he quietly stepped back. Everything had happened so quickly that he felt completely unprepared. He desperately wanted to know what had caused all this, but no matter how hard he thought, he couldn’t figure it out.
Feeling defeated, Kayden moved to the other side of the hallway, slumping against the wall in frustration.
In the past, he never understood what it meant to be hurt by emotions. He couldn’t fathom why people would say love could wound them. But now, he finally understood.
When the woman he loved most didn’t want to see him, the pain he felt was incomparable to any physical injury.
Georgia held a special place in his heart, more than anyone else. For her to treat him this way left him both heartbroken and confused.
Unable to bear staying at the hospital any longer, Kayden left.
The next morning, Kayden received a call from Coleman. Coleman had fully recovered and wasted no time thanking Kayden profusely over the phone. After expressing his gratitude, Coleman insisted on treating Kayden to a meal to show his appreciation.
Initially, Kayden tried to decline, but Coleman wouldn’t take no for an answer, so he finally agreed.
This time, they didn’t eat out. Instead, they went to a serene countryside retreat within the city-a unique little village of grass-roofed houses surrounded by mountains and water.
Joining them were Coleman’s sons, Kade and Logan, as well as his granddaughter Erika.
Erika, her spirits restored, happily called Kayden “Master” as soon as she saw him. The last time she had called him that, Kayden hadn’t objected, and now she did so with even greater confidence.
Kade and Logan’s attitudes toward Kayden had also undergone a complete transformation. After learning that he had saved their father, they were completely devoted to him, treating him with the utmost respect.
In their eyes, Kayden had become the embodiment of invincibility.
