Chapter 24

Book:Anything For You, Daddy Published:2025-2-9

Emily’s back arched as the tension inside her reached its breaking point. Her inner walls clenched around him as waves of ecstasy washed over her.
“Lucas!” she cried out, her vision going white as her orgasm crashed through her.
He continued pounding into her, drawing out her pleasure as she shuddered beneath him. Emily’s mind went blank, consumed by pure bliss as Lucas pushed her over the edge again and again.
His rhythm faltered as Emily’s body tensed around him. Lucas groaned, burying his face in her neck as he continued thrusting erratically.
“Fuck, baby girl,” he grunted. “You feel so goddamn good.”
Emily cried out, her nails digging into his shoulders as another orgasm crashed over her. Her mind went blank, overwhelmed by wave after wave of pleasure.
Lucas’ hips snapped forward one final time. He shuddered, spilling himself inside her with a strangled moan. For a moment, they remained frozen, hearts racing and breath coming in ragged gasps.
“Holy shit,” Emily finally managed, her voice hoarse.
Lucas chuckled weakly, pulling back to look at her with heavy-lidded eyes. “You can say that again.”
He brushed a strand of sweat-dampened hair from her forehead, his touch uncharacteristically gentle. Emily’s heart clenched at the tenderness of the gesture.
Don’t read too much into it, she reminded herself. This was just sex. Amazing, mind-blowing sex – but nothing more.
“Earth to Emily,” Lucas teased, breaking into her thoughts. “Where’d you go just now?”
She forced a playful smirk. “Just basking in the afterglow, old man. Gotta say, I’m impressed you kept up.”
“Careful,” he growled, nipping at her earlobe. “Or I might have to prove my stamina all over again.”
Emily’s body tingled at the promise in his voice. Part of her wanted nothing more than to take him up on that offer. But the rational part of her brain knew she needed to get moving soon.
“Rain check?” she suggested, reluctantly pushing at his chest. “Some of us have work to do today.”
Lucas groaned dramatically as he pulled out and flopped onto his back beside her. “You’re killing me, Carter.”
She laughed, swinging her legs over the side of the couch. “Pretty sure I just did the opposite, actually.”
Lucas chuckled, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “Fine, baby girl. Let’s get you home before you’re late for work.”
Emily stumbled to her feet, legs still wobbly. She fumbled with the zipper of her dress, cursing under her breath. “Shit, where’d my underwear go?”
Lucas tossed her a scrap of lace. “Looking for these?”
She snatched them with a playful glare. “You’re trouble, you know that?”
As they dressed hurriedly, Emily’s mind raced. How had a casual night out turned into this whirlwind of passion? Lucas was unlike anyone she’d ever been with – dangerous, thrilling, addictive.
The drive to her place was a blur of stolen glances and lingering touches. When they pulled up, Emily felt a pang of reluctance to leave.
At her door, Lucas pulled her close, his kiss deep and possessive. Emily melted into him, savouring his taste one last time.
“I’ll text you later,” she murmured against his lips.
His eyes darkened. “You’d better, baby girl.” As she turned to unlock her door, his hand connected with her ass in a sharp smack.
Emily whirled around, torn between outrage and arousal. “You’re impossible,” she growled, fighting a smile.
Lucas just winked, already heading back to his car. Emily blew him a kiss before slipping inside, her body humming with satisfaction and the promise of more to come.
Emily’s eyes widened as she glanced at her phone. “Shit!” The display read 1:30 PM in glaring digits. She’d lost track of time after Lucas dropped her off.
Heart racing, she jumped in the shower, letting out a small yelp as the cold water hit her skin. No time to wait for it to warm up. She scrubbed quickly, washing away the lingering scent of sex and sweat.
“Get it together, Carter,” she muttered, fumbling with her makeup bag. A swipe of mascara, dab of concealer, swish of lip gloss. It would have to do.
She threw on a crisp white blouse and pencil skirt, grateful she had laid them out the night before. As she hopped around trying to put on her heels, Emily’s mind raced.
‘Dad’s gonna kill me if I’m late. And Sophia… fuck, she’ll be so smug.’
Grabbing her laptop bag, she flew out the door, barely remembering to lock up. The drive to the office was a blur of cursing at slow drivers and praying for green lights.
Emily burst into the conference room at 2:05, slightly out of breath. Her father’s concerned frown and Sophia’s knowing smirk greeted her.
“Sorry I’m late,” she said, trying to keep her voice steady. “Traffic was a nightmare.”
Her dad’s brow furrowed deeper. “Everything alright, sweetheart? It’s not like you to cut it this close.”
“I’m fine, Dad. Just lost track of time working on the gallery campaign.” The lie tasted bitter on her tongue.
Sophia piped up, eyes twinkling with mischief. “Late night, Em? You look… flushed.”
Emily shot her friend a warning glare. “Nothing I can’t handle. Shall we get started?”
As she set up her laptop, Emily’s mind drifted to Lucas. His touch, his kisses… She shook her head, forcing herself to focus.
‘Get your head in the game, girl. You’ve got work to do.’
Emily’s fingers tapped impatiently on the desk as her laptop whirred to life. The faint scent of Lucas still clung to her skin, a reminder of their passionate morning. Her phone buzzed, and she glanced down to see a text from him
Daddy: Last night was fucking incredible, baby girl. Can’t wait to see you again.
A smirk played at her lips as she scrolled through her notifications. Her stomach dropped when she saw five missed calls from Ryan, along with three voicemails.
“Shit,” she muttered under her breath. What the hell did he want now?
For a split second, her thumb hovered over the voicemail icon. Part of her was curious what bullshit excuse he’d come up with this time. But the larger part of her, the part still stinging from his betrayal, wanted nothing to do with him.
‘Fuck it,’ Emily decided, shoving the phone into her bag. She had more important things to focus on than her lying ex-fiance. Like the gallery opening she was supposed to be planning.
As her desktop finally loaded, Emily’s mind drifted back to Lucas. His strong hands, his commanding presence, the way he made her feel so alive. She shook her head, trying to focus.
‘Get it together,’ she chided herself. ‘You can daydream later.’
With a determined inhale, Emily pulled up the campaign files and dove into work, pushing thoughts of both Lucas and Ryan firmly aside. She had a job to do, and she’d be damned if she let anything – or anyone – distract her from it.
Emily’s eyes glazed over as she stared at the mock-up billboards spread across the conference room table. Her dad’s voice faded to a dull buzz as her mind drifted to memories of Lucas’ hands on her body.
A sharp elbow to her ribs jolted her back to reality. Sophia was smirking, one eyebrow raised knowingly.
“Earth to Emily,” Sophia teased. “Care to share your thoughts on the colour scheme?”
Emily cleared her throat, cheeks flushing. “Right, um… I think the deep blue really pops against the gold accents. It gives a sense of luxury without being ostentatious.”
Her dad nodded approvingly. “Good eye, sweetheart. Now, about the tagline…”
As the meeting dragged on, Emily found herself zoning out repeatedly. Each time, Sophia would catch her eye with that infuriating smirk. By the time 7pm rolled around, Emily was beyond ready to call it a day.
“Great work, team,” her dad said, gathering his papers. “Let’s pick this up again Monday.”
