VALENTINA’S POINT OF VIEW
I had to do it! He was going to kill me! His hands were around my neck! I could not trust him not to end my life so I had to use the Roofie I had in my back pocket. The drinks were all laid out there on the table, he left me alone in the room when he went to answer his phone call, I had to do what I had to do so I dropped the sedative into the wine glass and hoped he would give me the wine without the drug in it and he did and now he is laying unconscious on the bed and I don’t know what to do!
Panicked, I moved closer to where he was on the bed placed my hand over his chest to make sure that his heart is still beating. It is, thank God!
I sat there staring at him, what do I do?! I did not think this through! What if someone walks in! What if he dies from an overdose or something! Fuckkk!!! Why did I do it?!
I paced the room with my hands on my head and worried lines on my face. One of the drawers in the room was slightly open, out of curiosity I pulled it out and took out the file in it.
A blue file that contained another flat file containing some documents.
The front of the document read ‘Valentina Sanchez’, wait why is my name on this! With shaky hands I flipped the document open, a picture of me flew out, it is one I don’t remember taking, one of me sleeping, and then another of me serving a customer at a restaurant that I used to work at a while back, there was a lot of pictures of me, they all had dates on them, one was as far as 2021 that’s three years ago!
When I read what was on the back of that picture I felt an unsettling chill settle on my body.
‘She would be mine, she has no choice in the matter.’ The inscription at the back of the picture read. I flinched, 2021, that’s three years ago! I did not know him then, has he been watching me! Has he been stalking me for years! I looked at a sleeping Diego and then back at the picture, he has been stalking me for years! The night I met him Don Carlos’ was not the first time HE met me. Heck, he even has multiple pictures of me sleeping!
I searched the drawer further for anything, who is he? Really? I need to know. I searched the drawer thoroughly but found nothing else except random pictures of me and some of me and my daughter Ava but those ones were dated in the time when I had already met him.
Nothing! I could find nothing about my daughter’s whereabout!
I have to know where she is! I am this close to finding her, I can’t stop now!
Then an idea came to my head. I walked over to the bed, to a sleeping Diego. With a lot of effort I pulled him to the chair nearby, my arms were hurting from how heavy he was but I continued and everything he was sitting on the chair, I had seen a pair of handcuffs in one of the drawers so I took it and cuffed his hands behind him. I sat on the couch nearby and started waiting for him to wake up…
ZARA’S POINT OF VIEW
I will never talk to him again, I have been in my room since I got back from the University, I don’t want to ever see him again, I don’t want to ever hear his voice, I just want to crawl up in a ball and die from the embarrassment that I am feeling, from the embarrassment that I have been subjected to when that cake was thrown in my face by Delvin.
I stayed locked up in my room, sobbing my eyes out.
“Zara I am really sorry, open the door… please.” Delvin said for the hundredth time.
I sat at the other side of the door.
“Please…” he said again.
I stood up to move to the bed but tripped on a cord and fell, the the lamp on the side of the bed tumbled and fell over causing a loud noise.
“Zara are you okay?! What was that noise!” Delvin said his voice was laced with concern, I did not reply, I never want to talk to him again! Not after what he did!
“Zara!” He yelled again.
I ignored him, the next thing I know the door was broken and he walked in.
“I thought you were hurt you should have said something!” He yelled angry. I broke down into another fit of tears.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have yelled at you.” He said and hugged me, I leaned into his hug.
“Why did you do that… at the University… I… I was just wanted to give you a cake.” I sobbed.
“I’m sorry.” he said.
“It’s just that… it’s complicated, I can’t be seen with you outside.” Delvin said. I looked at him shocked.
“If I am to take over my father’s company I cannot be seen anywhere near a nobody like you.” Delvin said and then let go of me. He walked out the door with no further explanation.
VALENTINA’S POINT OF VIEW
Diego slowly opened up his eyes, he squinted a little as he tried to adjust to the light.
I was standing in front of him.
” what is this?” I asked as I showed him the file. He tried to take the file from me but noticed that his hands were cuffed, he frowned at me.
“How dare you?!” He yelled with rage in his voice, I tried my best to not sure how scared I am by his anger.
“You are my prisoner now Diego and I can do whatever I want with you.” I answered back.
“And you better tell me why you have this file or I might just be tempted to slit your throat open with this knife.” I added, as I pressed the cold metal knife on his neck…
