DIEGO’S POINT OF VIEW
I saw the girl just today, Ava, Valentina’s daughter, she was flown in from her boarding school. I wanted to see her, I wanted to feel the pain, I wanted the anger to fuel my decision to send her to that dark dark place. That place where even the most innocent of souls become muderous whore.
I saw Ava, Valentina’s daughter, she knelt in front of my throne, I was supposed to hand her over to madam Francine who was supposed to take her to the training ground where she would be trained to become nothing but a dirty prostitute.
That was the plan, it should have been a piece of cake but somehow when I saw her, frail, small, innocent as she was I knew I could never hurt her. Her eyes, they called on to me, I knew I would have to protect her with my life, I knew I would protect her forever like a father protects his daughter.
Not being able to do what I had originally planned to do to Ava made me feel weak! I should not be weak! I should punish Valentina by harming her daughter! I should have pulled the trigger on that Valentina! Why did I hesitate! Why do I not want to harm her daughter!
I am nothing but a weak pathetic wimp! My father was right, I am a disgrace to the Fernandez’s name!
“Sir, can I please see my momma?” She had asked with a sad look on her face, somehow all my anger towards her for being the daughter of that traitor, all that anger faded away.
“Your mother…she…she is busy right now. You will get to meet her someday.” I stuttered, my heart broke when I saw her little face fold up in sadness.
I want this little girl to be happy, I don’t know why I feel this protectiveness towards her but I do, I never want to see her sad but giving her back to Valentina would mean that Valentina’s life would be complete. Valentina would be happy and I can’t allow that not after what she did to my brother, a life for a life. Ava’s life for my brother Dester’s
I will do my best to keep this little girl happy even without her mother around I will be her mother and father, because she would never meet Valentina until I am ready for them to meet. Until I am ready to exert my revenge on Valentina, until I am ready to pin the daughter against her mother. My ultimate revenge and nothing not even Ava’s sad face will stop me.
“Master, this came in for you.” Desmond Sandals, my former rival the man who had hired Valentina as a stripper in his club, the man who had caused me to punish her in that way said.
I bought up his entire entreprise, left with no job and no means of livelihood he decided to join. I made him one of my guys because let’s face it, even if I hate to admit it the guy is smart, how he was able to gather those alliances, how he was able to become lord over his mafia outfit was commendable.
He was also the one who had informed me about Valentina’s treachery, he came with evidence and the evidence checked out.
He has to gain my trust little by little but warning me about Valentina’s treachery has given him a few points in my book.
I took the letter from Desmond, clapped my palms together three times to signify that they all leave. Desmond and the nude strippers that had been entertaining me all left the room.
Who sends letters in this day and age? I wondered and then I saw the royal seal on it. Aunt Isla. I opened the letter hesitatingly, I had made it clear that I never want to hear from her after uncle George’s burial after that night, she said it was for the best, my impromptu departure from her kingdom.
I could no longer look her in the eyes after it happened, I was young, horny and easily seduced, she was lonely, the king had just died. That night at the roof top shouldn’t have happened but it did and now I don’t know if I should go back to that.
“Your cousin princess Leilani needs you, she’s getting married to the prime minister’s son. I know the prime minister is an enemy to the crown but I had to make that decision to get Leilani to marry his son because need them on our side. Monarchy is dying out we need all the help we can get to
Keep it relevant.
Diego, I don’t think we are safe Lani and I, there are people conspiring against me, I need you, Lani needs you, please come to Islanvic when you get this. Please Diego. I don’t know who to trust, too many traitors, too many people who want us dead. Come to Islanvic Diego for the sake of your brother.”
Islanvic was my home after Dester’s death, I could not face the rage and sadness at home so I ran to my aunt Isla’s kingdom, it was a great stay there until it wasn’t. Until it happened and I had to leave, I promised myself that I would never return but now I have to my cousin Leilani needs me and even if I don’t want to admit it to myself a small part of me still wants to protect Isla even though I probably shouldn’t.
VALENTINA’S POINT OF VIEW
I gave birth to Ava when I had no one, my mom had died a while back, I was still grieving my dad’s death and my sister Sidney, my only source of strength and companionship was in a coma.
Dester and my sister Sydney were fifteen when their love story had began before then they had completely hated each other, well I know she hated him, she would always tell me about how cocky and conceited she thought him to be and then somehow out of the blue a love so pure and strong started to grow between them.
Everyone was against their love, my mother knew the Fernandez, she knew who they were behind the mask that they wore out there in society, she knew what they did, she knew them in a way that she was sure Sydney would never. She and Sydney would have constant arguments about my sister’s relationship with Dester.
Lady Stephanie, Diego and Damian’s mother (Dester has a different mother) hated almost everyone, her face was always rolled up in a disapproving scowl, her posture was always straight, it’s hard to imagine her not being so… perfect. What she hated most of all In this world was that Dester and Sydney were in a relationship. Sydney, my sister was the daughter of the maid after all she should have no business dating the first born son of the almighty Fernandez household.
Lady Stephanie always saw Sydney as nothing but a gold digger and she made this known every single time. I don’t think Raphael Fernandez really cared one bit about Dester and Sydney’s relationship, in truth he did not care one bit about his first born son Dester, Diego was the one he loved (in a very twisted way), Diego was the one he had his hope in and when Diego proved himself to be weak (in Raphael’s book) that was when Raphael went really mad in his wickedness.
It was summer I think we were all in one of the Fernandez’s vacation villa, the one in Santorini. I was there because Diego had somehow convinced his father to let me come, Sydney was there because…well their love was one where Dester did not go anywhere without his Sydney. She was his only home he would often say.
So we were all at the villa when one day Sydney and Dester decided to take a ride around the beautiful city. They never returned. Nobody knows what happened during that drive but when they were found Dester was found dead and my sister unconscious, they had to die put her in a coma to prevent her brain from swell too much and she has been in that coma ever since.
Lady Stephanie blamed my sister for Dester’s death. Even though Dester is not biologically her some she has always seen him as hers in fact sometimes it seemed like he was her favorite, she preferred him to her two biological children Diego and Damian. She hated Diego with such vigor, it was almost as if she enjoyed every time he got punished by his father. Stephanie did not care much for Damian, he was so simple minded it irritated her.
Dester was the son she always wanted and when he died she made it her duty to make me and my family’s life a living hell.
That Diego would think that I killed his brother Dester is just outrageous.
“Welcome to your new home.” Leanor said as we both walked down from the car into the mansion.
