ZARA’S POV
“So what should I do to your erring sister?” Master Diego asked looking straight at me with those his charmingly piercing eyes that look like they hold a lot of secrets. Those eyes that look like they have all the solutions to the world’s problem. Those eyes that definitely turn me on every single time, what am I even saying? Everything about Diego Fernandez turns me on.
“What punishment do you think Yara deserves?” He asked again, this time looking at my sister. His face seem to soften a bit when he looked at her. I hate Yara so much, she always seems to find a way to take everything that belongs to me!
“I don’t know, but I was thinking that she should probably be starved for like three days and then tortured with something really hot.” I contemplated.
They both turned to look at me which shocked expressions on their faces, like they could not believe their eyes. Especially Yara, she looked like a ghost with her eyes that widely opened, she looked like she was going to pass out.
Diego quickly hid his shock with a smirk.
“I’m kidding.” I said with a laugh, even though I wasn’t, even though all I want… all I have ever wanted is to see Yara suffer, to see her get deformed in some way, she is way too perfect, it is infuriating.
“I’m just kidding.” I said again, with a shorter laugh. If looks could kill I would be dead because Yara was standing there sending me sharp pointy daggers with those death stares.
If Diego wasn’t here, she would probably yell at me and say “Zara some jokes are just not funny!” Except that one wasn’t. I just had to play it down because I don’t want my dear Diego to think that I am the evil twin, he already thinks Yara is a sinless Angel which is very far from the truth, that hoe was fucking our godfather even when godmother Stephanie was still alive.
Yara is no Saint but for some reason I am the only one who can see her flaws.
“Master Diego I know I have no power over your decisions but please just pardon my sister this one time. I know she did not mean to undermine you in that way.” I said contorting the most sympathetic face I could.
Make no mistake I hate Yara but she is still my sister so I have to stay loyal to her, it is this stupid family tenet my father instilled in us, it is complicated.
I want to see Yara dead or at least hurt but I don’t want to be the cause of it.
“Very then, I’ll let it slide this time but next time…Yara next time you undermine my authority, you will be really sorry.” Diego said. He was standing really close to my sister, I hate it.
He walked out the door. I watched Yara flinch as the door jammed shut, she acts though but she really isn’t although she suprises me sometimes. Sometimes I feel like I really don’t know my sister, like she lets me see only she parts of her life she wants me to see.
She last time she confided in me was when she told me about her relationship with Raphael, and then I went over to blurt out her secret to our father because I genuinely thought it would get her in trouble but it didn’t… it backfired on me, I got in trouble with dad for quote breaking my sister’s trust hence not being loyal to a family member.
I am glad the old man is dead, he was so far up Yara ass, they all are, always treating her like she is a damn unicorn and I am nothing but the black sheep of the family.
VALENTINA’S POV
“Valentina you see, my club is a little bit short on stripper right now and I was wondering if you would want to work there. We’ll be helping each other because I kinda need staff and from what I gathered you need a job.” Desmond said, flashing me his killer smile.
“I don’t really know if I want to go back to that kind of life.” I replied. That kind of life was what landed me in this messed up one I have to live now. I just want a quiet life as a waiter or something for a change.
“I really don’t think this job is the right one for me, thanks for reaching out to me anyway Mr. Desmond Sandals.” I added as I picked up my bag to leave.
“You will be protected at all times and I will never make you do anything you are not comfortable doing.” Desmond said in a cajoling tone.
“The terms are good but the job isn’t for me… anymore, Thank you for the opportunity anyway.” I replied standing firm on my decision.
I have to try to get away from that kind of life.
YARA’S POV
“Do you love me?” I said suddenly to Raphael. He was sitting at the other side of the room with his MacBook on the table. He had his glasses on as he read through the words on his laptop screen.
He always complains about how stressful lecturing is sometimes but when I ask him to quit since he really doesn’t need the job to maintain his wealthy lifestyle, since he had a truckload of cash from his previous life as a mafia king, he refuses. He says something about there being dignity in labor.
“Have you ever loved me?” I asked again as I played with the knife on the table, it has an interesting intricate design.
I need a Raphael to answer my question, I need to get what that jerk Desmond said to me out of my head, I need to know that I’m not being used.
I heard him start to walk towards me, I was still playing with the knife when he turned me over to himself, I was startled to see that I was holding holding the knife very close to Raphael chest. The pointed end of the knife was just an inch away from his chest, I was very close to stabbing him.
“Has your loyalty been compromised Yara.” Raphael asked, he looked angry more angry than I have ever seen him be.
