Book:The Alpha's Rejected Mate Published:2025-2-9

APRILS POV
I burst out laughing, and everyone looked at me in shock.
“Was that supposed to work? “I ask in between laughs.
“Of course, You are now an omega, ” he says proudly, looking pleased with himself.
Another burst of laughter escapes me, and I have to hold my stomach and start breathing in and out to control myself.
After a few seconds, I finally calmed down and said:
“If I was an omega, would I still have my wolf? “Snow asks. By the look everyone has, I can tell that they know it’s no longer me but my wolf in control, even though I’m still in human form.
Jake is silent for a while, and I nod, giving Dylan the sign for what will happen next.
I push Jake, who is standing on the platform on the ground, and before he can shift to his wolf form, I jump on him and sit on him.
Electric currents shoot through my body the minute we make contact, but I’m too thirsty for blood to give a damn.
I hold his hands above his head, and I smile wickedly. I can say that Jake looks terrified for the first time, and I feel powerful and courageous. Dylan and Snow needed me at my best, and I would be damned if I dared to disappoint them.
The pack growls at me because I pose a threat to their Alpha, and some start closing in around me, but Dylan and some of the warriors on our side begin attacking them, which buys me more time.
I raise one hand while the other holds his hands.
Claws come out, and I cut him across his chest, leaving behind claw marks. He howls in pain, but it’s just the beginning, and I wonder what he’ll be doing after I’m through with him.
“That’s for rejecting me,” I say.
He doesn’t form any words. How pathetic! And apparently, I was the weak one.
I cut him again, and the claw marks form an “X” symbol on his chest. “That is for making me feel like I was never good enough. “I say.
This time, he whimpers in pain.
I see a stake lying on the ground and take it quickly and plunge it through his heart. “That is for trying to make me an omega,” I say and twist the stake. He grunts in pain, and all I feel is pleasure at the expense of his suffering.
He won’t die, but removing that stake will be hell for him. I stand up and take a second to see what’s happening.
The air smells of blood and fear. I see dead bodies on the ground, but some are still hanging on to their lives.
I begin feeling guilty, but I instantly block the feeling.
Dylan and his men are taking out the warriors so they won’t come for me.
Now, where is the Alpha that killed my parents?
I scan the area and spot him trying to run away, and I walk towards him like a predator who has found her prey. Dead bodies surround us, but that does not make me stop.
“April, please, I’m sorry,” he pleads.
“Oh, so now you are sorry? “Well, he ain’t seen nothing yet.
He stumbles upon a dead body, and I pull out two daggers that I had hidden in my boots. How did Dylan know I would need them? That guy is honestly Goddess sent.
“No mercy,” Snow commands.
“No mercy,” I say, agreeing with her.
I jump on Jake’s father and land on my knees on his chest. He makes a sound but I wasn’t concentrating on that enough to make out what it is. Before he can react, I stab his eyes. He lets out a cry of pain, and that sounds like music to my ears. “That is for what you did to my parents,” I say while twisting the daggers. He growls in pain, and the ground seems to shake because of the sheer force of that growl.
He tries to remove the daggers, but I stop him. I take out a matchbox that I had hidden in my bra and wait for Dylan to come and finish the last part of the plan.
The Alpha struggles against my grip, and I growl at him in warning. My claws protrude and dig into his neck, not deep enough to kill but deep enough to cause severe pain, and he stops struggling.
After a couple of minutes of waiting, Dylan finally arrives and gives me the paraffin.
Dylan holds him down while I pour the paraffin all over the Alpha. He squirms like a worm, but too bad for him. He’s not getting away, and I won’t let him.
I ignite the matchstick and let it fall on his body. It erupts in flames, and he screams in agony and pain, but I can’t find it in me to feel guilty.
In fact, all I feel is satisfaction. I smile to myself victoriously.
“We need to go NOW! “Dylan urges and emphasizes on the last word.
We shift into our wolf forms and run, leaving dead bodies and the injured behind.
What’s that quote that they always say about revenge?
Something along the lines of :
“Love is sweet, but revenge is sweeter.”
They were right about that!
