As night fell, Ariel Ann put down the document in her hand. She looked out of the window and then looked at her watch; it was as if she had suddenly entered the world of strong businesswomen. She never dreamed that she would one day become the vice president of the Anderson family, and never had the thought of marrying into the Anderson family ever crossed her mind.
She stood up and walked towards the window, feeling overwhelmed; she closed her eyes.
Even though she had done it with Rex Anderson a lot of times, forcing herself to forget about the man that night, forget about his body temperature, even forget about that night. She was basically lying to herself. The cell phone on the table suddenly rang. She walked over to pick it up. It was Rex Anderson.
“Is the work over yet?”
“Yes”
“Come downstairs,” Rex Anderson hung up without waiting for Ariel Ann to speak again.
Her heart aches when she sees Rex with someone else. “You said you had a woman in your life, yet you’re still coming to meet me, and here I am thinking about another man. What a contradictory couple.”
She packed her things and rushed downstairs.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry,” Ariel Ann exclaimed as she bent to pick up her scattered documents.
The stranger joined her, his hand brushing against hers as they both reached for the same paper. She raised her head to see the person she bumped into.
“Damian Ford!” she whispered, her voice trembling. Damian’s smile faltered, and he took a step back.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“I’m here to see the woman I love, who happens to be you, by the way.”
Ariel chuckled lightly. “Well, thanks for the clarification because I wasn’t sure who you were talking about between me and Elvira Ann.”
“Ariel, I love you; hit me if you like; it was that bitch Elvira who seduced me. It’s all her fault for.” Damian Ford slapped himself hard.
“….”
“You must be delusional; you should visit a doctor.”
I only need to persuade her a little, and she would come running to me. I know she can’t live without me.
“Look, we made mistakes, and I’m willing to put all that behind us. Let’s start over.”
“Damian Ford, I don’t care, nor do I need you in my life. We’re over”
How dare this bitch?
As Ariel Ann turned to leave, Damian’s eyes flashed with anger. He couldn’t let her walk away, not yet. He reached out and grasped her arm, holding her in place.
“Let me go, Damian Ford,” Ariel warned, her voice low and steady.
But Damian Ford didn’t release his grip. Instead, he said, his voice laced with mockery.
“Don’t you love me so much?”
Ariel’s eyes narrowed with anger. She tried to wiggle free, but Damian’s grip only tightened.
“Damian Ford, let me go.” She demanded her voice rise. But Damien’s expression turned dark, his eyes glinting with possessive intensity.
“You’re not leaving this place until we settle this.” He growled, his voice dripping with entitlement.
Ariel’s eyes flashed with anger as she couldn’t stand Damien Ford. She tried to shake off his grip, but he held tight, his finger digging deeper into her skin.
With a surge of adrenaline, Ariel Ann used all her strength to pull away, but Damien Ford was unyielding.
Damien’s face leaned in closer, his hot breath against her ear. Ariel reacted instinctively. She raised her free hand and shoved Damien away with all her strength.
“Damien Ford, you disgusting piece of shit.”
“Ariel Ann, you’re going to come crawling back to me since you married a crippled man.” Damian Ford said with a smug smile on his face.
“Thank God you knew I was married; my husband might be wheelchair bound. News flash, he’s way smarter, handsome, hotter, more mature, and richer than you would ever be.” Damian Ford laughed really hard. “Did you just call that wheelchair-bound person hotter and handsome? You mean, with half of his face burned, he’s handsome. You know what? Just drop this act; it doesn’t suit you. I already had a laid-out plan; dropped putting on a show in front of me to make me jealous.”
“Come with me; my car is nearby.”
Damian Ford dragged her by her wrist; she broke free from him and punched him in the face.
“Ouch”
“You this pathetic piece of shit, don’t you dare lay your dirty finger on me ever again.”
Rex slides his wheelchair towards them.
“Don’t ever use your filthy hand to touch my wife again; if you do that again, the whole Ford will disappear.” Pius punched Damian Ford in the groin, and he screamed in pain. Rex Anderson held Ariel’s hand gently. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine”
“I’m sorry I didn’t react quickly. Ariel smiled at him, “If you had asked Pius to come quickly, I wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to punch that trash in the face.”
She let go of her hand; anger boiled inside her as she approached Damian. She put her hand in her wallet and took out two coins. “Here take,” the people looked at her puzzled. Just as he stretched his hand, Ariel Ann withdrew her hand and put the coins back in her wallet.
“Damian Ford, you see, I wanted to give you this money, but on a second thought, giving you this money is a waste. Here is a piece of advice for you.” Her words dripping with sarcasm, Damian looked at her with a killing intent.
Just wait and see what I’ll do to you once I get you back and lay my hand on Ann Company. I’ll make your life miserable. You dare humiliate me.
Ariel Ann looked him straight in the eye.
“How about you go back to the love of your life, Elvira Ann? Did you two not love each other so much that you both threw my mother’s relics out? Tell me what happened to the home you were building.” She paused and looked at Damian’s angry expression.
“Oh! That’s right, she dumped you, Mr. Damian Ford. Goodnight.”
With that, she turned and left, leaving Damian.
