“Oh! Who do you want to have children with then? Your very handsome boyfriend who doesn’t have to sit in a wheelchair pretending to be crippled to bully women, right?”
“You love someone else, so who I have children with is none of your business stop being petty”, Ariel bit back.
“Ariel Rex Anderson, remember you’re still my wife. Don’t get caught. If you do, you’re dead meat.”
With that being said, Rex turned off the light and went to sleep.
In the dark room, Ariel stared at Rex’s back confused. She just didn’t know what she felt towards the man. He was right about one thing though she was still his wife. She had vowed her loyalty to him and each time she hoped to be the man’s only wife. Would there be a better reason to justify her anger when the man took another woman into their home if she wasn’t interested in him?
Suddenly, Rex felt a tug on his robe. His voice was filled with anger,
“Speak”
“Have you ever thought of me being your wife for the rest of your life, and let go of your feelings for the person you said you love so much? or ever dreamed of us being a complete family, me your wife and you, my husband.”
“What!” Rex raised his eyebrows and asked.
Ariel turned her back to him and covered herself with the blanket in embarrassment. “Just pretend I didn’t just say that, this conversation never happened”
Ariel, get a grip of yourself, Rex won’t take it to heart, will he? Those were the thoughts running through her mind till she fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Rex just stared at her back in the dark, and he didn’t seem too happy. As Ariel’s question keeps hunting him, he never thinks about that all that occupied his mind was revenge.

It’s nighttime and Damien couldn’t close his eyes. He paced back and forth in his bedroom, his heart pounded with nervous anticipation. He finally mustered the courage to call his lover, Elvira Ann, to share the news. He dialed her number and waited anxiously as the phone rang.
Elvira stared at the phone blankly as she allowed the phone to ring.
Damien, on the other hand, was anxiously waiting for her to pick, finally she picked
“Hello” Elvira’s voice chimed from the other end.
“My love” he said, trying to steady his voice. “I have some exciting news to share with you.”
“What is it, Damien? You sound so serious” Elvira Ann replied, curiosity evident in her tone.
“Your father dropped by today. He had a long talk with my family and.. our engagement..”
Elvira’s mind jumped to her throat as she asked nervously “Damien… wha.. t are you talking about?”
“Your father, he fixed our engagement, Elvira” Damien ford blurted out, unable to contain his excitement. A stunned silence followed and Damian paused, waiting for Elvira’s response. “Damien, are you saying my father and your family fixed my engagement without even consulting me?” she scowled. Damian wasn’t expecting such a reaction from Elvira. “I know he should have told you about it, we love each other, you’re carrying my child, Elvira. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you”
Elvira sighed “I love you too, Damien”, she lied through her teeth. “I just wished he had discussed it with me before he made the decision”
“I know, will I see you tomorrow? I miss you”
“Damian, I’m still busy dealing with some stuff at the company, goodnight. I’ll talk to you tomorrow” with that Elvira hung up the phone.
After the conversation, her frustration reached the boiling point, her emotions took over and, without thinking, she began swiping off everything on her dressing table, makeup, hairbrush, lotions and trinkets flew in every direction of the room, creating a chaotic dance of objects.
The loud clatter caught the attention of the people in the house. Tanya Albert looked at Timothy Ann with concern as she cautiously approached her room and peeked inside, and the sight that greeted her was like a tempest that had passed through the room leaving debris behind.
She gently opened the door, revealing Elvira in the midst of her emotional turmoil; her disheveled appearance mirrored the chaos in the room. Silence hung in the air.
Tanya Albert approached her daughter and gently draw her into a comforting embrace.

“Father, have you lost your mind? Why would you make such a decision without consulting me?” face with Elvira’s question, Timothy Ann’s cold heart ached, but he had to do what he did.

“Elvira, please understand, you are carrying the heir of the Ford. They are a respectable family and Damian loves you, this union would bring prosperity to our family. Your father did what he thought was for the best.”
Elvira’s frustration boiled over. “For the best you say, it was I who said I wanted Damien at first, and now I said I wanted someone else, am I not allowed to choose my own partner? This is my life, father. You should call off the engagement.”
“Elvira, you’re my beloved daughter! Rex Anderson is not only wheelchair bound, he’s disfigured” Timothy Ann frowned worriedly. Why can’t you just marry Damien and let go of Rex Anderson?
“Elvira, that Rex Anderson is not as simple as you think! He is a cunning person. Stay away from him, you’re not his match.
Elvira Ann frowned and looked at her parent in displeasure.
“Let me decide that” she scowls at Timothy Ann.
“Elvira Ann, you will get engaged to Damian in two days’ time and that’s final no negotiation”, Timothy Ann declared with a clenched jaw.
With that being said, Elvira dashed to her room.

I have to do something to cancel this engagement. I do not love Damian Ford. It’s Rex Anderson I love. Besides, the pregnancy is not his. I have planned this for a long time, I can’t get engaged. How could father do this to me?
How can Ariel live a good life while I get stuck with Damien? It’s obvious father didn’t love me as he claims. I can’t allow that bi*ch to win.
Determined to stop the engagement, Elvira pondered long and hard on how to avoid the engagement her father had planned. She spent the night gazing at the stars from her bedroom window, searching for a solution that would allow her to break free. Finally, she came up with a brilliant idea.
She sent out a string of messages and lay down to sleep with a broad smile.
