Book:The wolf in me Published:2025-2-8

My heart drops as those words left her mouth. My mate is feeling like she’s dying and I can’t do anything about it! I’m useless! The only thing I can do is comfort her.
“It’ll be over soon. You just have to keep going.”
“I.. can’t!”she is sobbing which makes me want to breakdown with her.
“Mira, Mira look at me. I know you can. It’ll be over soon okay?”
I hope.
She slowly nods and I wipe the tears from her face. I don’t think she notices though because she’s once again screaming in pain.
I listen to her scream until I couldn’t do it anymore. I begin to walk away but my wolf screams at me not to leave. I listen and pull her into my lap. I squeeze her hand and with my free hand, I massages her lower back which was the very tense. I kiss the top of her head and I feel her squeeze my hand.
She suddenly let’s out a blood curdling scream and arches her body up. She begins to breathe even heavier than she was and screams again. She then starts ripping her pants and panties off. Oh great, she’s lost it! I’m about to ask her why she ripped off her pant like they were on fire but she glares at me.
“Leo, the baby is coming freakin out of me and I can’t really catch her when she comes ou-ahh!” She yells at me.
Oh crap… I hadn’t thought of that. My wolf howls in frustration when I hesitate.
‘She’s our mate! The least you can do is catch the freakin baby!’ My wolf growls.
My wolf’s right. I need to be here for her and if that means delivering her baby, then that’s exactly what I’m going to do! I rush over to her lower area and start to feel queazy… I shake the feeling away and meet her tired gaze.
“Okay Mira, you need to push!” I say.
She instantly starts pushing until I thought she might pass out. She screams, digging her fingers into the dirt. This is killing me! She starts to push again and I swear I heard her mumble ‘this is never gonna end!’.
“You’re doing so good sweetie, so good. I can see her head. I need you to keep pushing for me sweetie.” I’m going to freakin pass out!
She pushes for what seems like forever. I feel so sorry for her, she never asked for any of this. I then see the baby’s head come out. I wanted to jump for joy because it’s almost over.
“Keep pushing, Mira! Her head’s out, you’re almost there!” I tell her.
Her face floods with relief and she behind to push once more. She screams them throws her head back. She stops pushing and takes a breath. I can tell how tired she is by looking at her. Her eyes are droopy and there are dark circles around her eyes.
She looks exhausted…
She pushes one last time and before I could even comprehend what was happening, I had a tiny baby in my arms. She whimpers but doesn’t cry which scared me a little bit. I rip a strip of cloth off of my shirt then tie off the cord. I grab my pocket knife and cut it.
Realizing how cold it was I rip my shirt off or my and. Wrap it around her. She looks exactly like Mira. Mira looks up at me and I hold up the tiny, little bundle in my arms.
My daughter…
I see Mira face glow as she took the baby from me and kissed her forehead. The little one was crying loudly which I think looks adorable, Mira kept looking at her baby as I see a tear roll down her cheek.
“Leo our baby is with us finally”, I smiled and hug my family.
