“You really had to make a fucking deal with a Russian.” Axel scoffed and she was about to give him a response when the door opened and the twins walked in with Nora.
“Mummy.” Kendra called happily and rushed to the bed with her brother. They both got on the bed and Nadia chuckled as Kender lay next to her while Kendra got on her.
“How are you feeling? Are you still in pain?” Kendra asked and poked her arm.
“Well, you are on me so I guess yes.” Nadia replied and she giggled. She lay next to her and smiled.
Kender didn’t say anything, he just placed his head on Nadia and closed his eyes.
She raised her brows at Axel and he sighed.
“He hadn’t said anything since what happened, I guess he is a little traumatized.” Nora said.
“Yeah, I will get him a therapy session for a few weeks.” Axel said and Nadia chuckled.
“I always thought it was Kendra that would need therapy.” Nadia said and Kendra gasped dramatically.
“I feel so offended, mummy.” She said and Nadia smiled.
She was happy, she felt her heart flutter hearing her daughter call her that.
“Well, since you are in a good mood, will you accept my apology?” Nora asked and Nadia looked up at her.
“Fine, I won’t kill you.” Nadia rolled her eyes.
“I would appreciate that.” Nora replied with a smile.
“Where is Max?” Axel asked Nora.
“He is taking care of things with the cops.” She replied and he nodded.
“Mummy, since you don’t hate everyone again, will you come to the Blackwell’s dinner tomorrow night?” Kendra asked. Nadia glanced at Axel before turning back to her daughter.
“I don’t know baby, I think I would still be in the hospital.”
“But you are fine, see?” She said and poked Nadia’s arm again.
“I will think about it then.” She replied and Kendra smiled happily.

THE NEXT DAY
AT NIGHT
Kendra stood in front of her mirror as she stared at her dress, she smiled seeing how beautiful she looked.
They would be leaving for the Blackwell’s mansion soon for dinner. She was excited because her mother would be there, she couldn’t wait.
The door to her room opened and Kender walked in, he glanced at her as he walked to her bed and sat on it.
Kendra stared at him through the mirror and sighed before walking to him. She sat next to him and nudged his shoulder but he didn’t respond to her.
He just stared down at his fingers and played with them. He still hasn’t said a word since the incident.
“Hey.” Kendra called softly and held his hand.
“Your tuxedo looks good on you.” She complimented but still, he was mute.
“You know how much you hate stuff and Dad would make you start seeing a therapist tomorrow, is that what you want?” She asked but he still kept mute. It felt like he was too scared to speak.
“Please say something. You are making me feel bad.” Kendra said with her voice breaking.
“I was the one that was supposed to wear the vest with the bomb but you begged them to put it on you instead. You should have just let them put it on me when you know you wouldn’t be able to handle it.” Kendra said softly as tears welled up in her eyes.
“I’m sorry I made you go through that. If I had known, I would have stopped crying and let them put it on me.”
Kender looked up at her and smiled at her a little, he pulled her into a hug and she blinked back her tears so she wouldn’t ruin her look.
“Should I tell Dad about it?” Kendra asked as she pulled away from the hug and Kender shook his head in response.
“Okay.” She smiled at him and stood up, she held his hand and pulled him up.
“Let go.” She said and pulled him out of the room.
They got to the Blackwell’s mansion after a while and Axel and the twins walked out of the door. They noticed Nadia’s car parked and she was leaning on it.
Kendra’s face lit up as she walked towards them. She was dressed in a beautiful black gown.
“I got here early and wasn’t ready to go in yet.” She said as she got to them and Kendra smiled at her.
Axel was lost staring at her and she rolled her eyes.
“Earth to Axel.” She said and he blinked rapidly.
“You look beautiful.” He complimented her and she nodded a little.
She looked at Kender who kept mute and kept staring at his feet.
“How are you?” Nadia asked him and he looked up at her, she nodded at him.
“You guys can go ahead, I want to talk to your father about something.” Nadia said.
“Okay. Come on, Kender.” Kender muttered and held Kender’s hand before pulling him towards the house.
“What’s up?” Axel asked.
“Why isn’t he saying anything yet? It’s been days.” She asked Axel and he shrugged.
“I don’t know. I have tried talking to him and assured him that everything was okay but he won’t just talk.”
“But why?”
“I guess he is still scared. He will see a therapist tomorrow and from there, we will see if there will be any progress.” Axel replied and she sighed.
“I am worried.”
“Well, I never knew you still had feelings.” Axel scoffed and she glared at him.
“Funny. I could still kill you.” She shrugged and Axel chuckled.
“Nah, you can’t. You are letting my family go.” He replied and she chuckled this time.
“Who says I am? Why do you think I am here?” She asked and Axel’s smile slowly faded.
“Lily, what are you up to?”
“Watch me.”
