Max trailed off as he realized he wasn’t supposed to answer her question. He replaced it with a nervous chuckle and Lily raised her brows.
“What? What were you saying?”
“Nothing.” He hurriedly replied and she glared at him.
“Max.”
“I’m sorry, I can’t tell you. Ask Axel yourself.”
“He won’t say anything about it.”
“Anything about what?” Axel asked as he showed up in the living room.
“Nothing.” Max chuckled and he looked back and forth between him and Lily.
“Are you ready?” He asked Max.
“Yeah, sure.” He replied and slowly placed Kendra on the couch. Axel looked at his daughter and a smile slowly formed on his lips.
He couldn’t believe he was against having kids. He loves his children.
“Let’s go.” Max said and pulled him with him before he could talk to Lily.
As they walked out of the house, Lily sighed.
Kendra stood on the couch and held it for support as she stood.
“I hate your father.” Lily said to her and she smiled.
“But I love you and your brother.” She added with a smile.
Lily spent the morning with her kids, she was used to staying at home and doing nothing so she wasn’t so bored.
Her kids were asleep and she was watching a show, the door to the living room suddenly opened revealing Nora.
Lily sighed and looked away from her immediately. She was so mad at her.
Nora slowly walked to the middle of the room and stood in front of the television, Lily rolled her eyes and looked away from it.
“Look, I know you hate me but I am here to apologise and make it up to you. Also, Mr. Blackwell sent me.” She said, Lily turned to her curiously.
What does Mr. Blackwell want?
“Why?” Lily asked.
“The first ball of the season is in a few days and… ”
“Of course. It’s all about a ball.” Lily cut her off and scoffed. Nora exhaled and decided to continue. She understands why Lily was being that way to her, she really hurt her a lot.
“As I was saying, because he is happy to see his grandkids, the Blackwells are hosting it, and it will also be a welcome party for Kender and Kendra.”Nora announced with a smile.
“So your family will be using my kids?” Lily asked and Nora groaned.
“Can you please make this easier for me? I get that you are mad at me and I am sorry. You can’t really blame me for what happened, if you were in my shoes, you would understand better.”
“Please, Lily. I am so sorry. I would do anything you want, I would do anything to make it up to you. I’m sorry I treated you badly.” She apologised.
Lily stared at her for a few seconds, she seemed genuine and looked sorry. Due to how soft Lily was, she decided to forgive her but she wasn’t going to let her know yet.
“What do you want? Why are you here?” She asked.
“Well, just like old times, I am here to get you ready for the ball. But this time, you and your kids.” She replied with a wide smile and Lily nodded.
“Are we cool now?”
“Not really.” Lily replied and Nora shrugged.
“I will take that.” She replied and rushed to her, she sat next to her and Lily gave her a look.
“You should know that a lot has changed since you left. Lydia is now married to Taylor, we also have this new family that just joined this society. They are now rivals with us, they are called the Robbins. They have a cute son and a daughter. His name is Dexter and the daughter’s name is Emily. Dexter is also Axel’s rival in their mafia stuff.” Nora explained with a smile and Lily nodded.
She was interested in the conversation, she had many questions but she hid it. She still wants Nora to apologise to her more.
“And Dexter is really cute. I like him.” She giggled.
“I thought you were with Max.”
“Oh, Max and I broke up months ago.” She replied and Lily raised her brows.
“Really? Why?”
“Well, long story short. He wants something serious and I am not ready for that yet. Don’t tell Axel though, he doesn’t know yet.” She replied and Lily nodded in response.
“Also, Malia became the face of the city, but it was just once. Being married to Axel helped her a lot.”
Lily nodded to her statement and bit her lip. Being wealthy was something Malia was used to, she played a perfect role as a wife but she couldn’t. It was hard for her.
“Sorry about that. I shouldn’t have said that.”
“It is fine.” Lily replied.
“What else? Hmm, a lot happened but I can’t recall all.” Nora shrugged.
“So, let’s get you and your kids ready for the ball. What do you think Kendra should wear? I was thinking about a… ”
“What? She is just a baby. I will decide what my kids wear.” Lily cut her off and she nodded with a smile.
“Yeah, I totally agree with you. But for you, I am picking your dress.”
“Whatever.” Lily muttered.
Nora kept quiet for a few seconds but decided to speak again, she just wanted Lily to be back to normal with her.
“So tell me. How have you been?”
“At peace.” Lily replied and she nodded. She bit her lip and looked around the house, it was a little awkward. Lily kept killing the vibe.
“Where is my niece and nephew?” She suddenly asked with a wide smile and Lily rolled her eyes.
“They are asleep in my room.”
“Hey, have you noticed? Kendra looks a little bit like me.”
“Please stop talking.” Lily said and turned back to the television.
Nora nodded and sighed. She was quiet for a few seconds before speaking up again.
“You know what? I won’t. I missed you.” She said and suddenly hugged Lily tightly.
“Ugh, let go of me, Nora.” Lily groaned but Nora ignored her.
“I missed you so much. I have been spending my money for over a year. I don’t have Axel’s black card anymore, I have no one to do crazy stuff with and… ”
“Is this about money?” Lily chuckled and Malia looked at her face.
“Not really but yes. I missed you.” She screamed and Lily giggled as she kissed her face repeatedly.
