It was the last ball of the season and everyone invited was happy. The last ball of the season is always the best one. Everyone important in and out of the city would get invited.
The day was filled with joy and excitement. Everyone was excited except Lily though.
She woke up late and did her morning routine, she got ready to leave for Nora’s house for the driving lesson before leaving her room.
She got to the living room and a maid informed her that Axel already left. She was glad, she wasn’t ready to see him.
She decided to skip breakfast but gave it a second thought immediately after she recalled she was pregnant. She had to eat, if not for her but for the growing child in her.
She had a quick breakfast and than left for Nora’s place. On her way, she cheered up a little so Nora wont be worried and also to avoid questions.
She got there and Nora was excited to see her and also excited about the ball.
Lily put on a fake smile and tried to relate to any conversation Nora brought up.
After an hour, they both left her place for the driving lessons.
Lily got to drive and she loved it, she wasn’t so good yet but she was perfect for a first timer.
The day ended so fast and Lily headed home to get ready for the ball. She left earlier than she was supposed to due to the ball party.
She got back to the mansion and found out that Axel wasn’t back yet. She was glad.
The maid brought up her new dress and she loved it. She smiled as she stared at the dress and admired it, she was really lucky to have Axel.
He gets her new dresses for every ball.
She started to get ready when it was almost time. She got dressed by herself, she dismissed the maids. She just wanted to be by herself.
In an hour, she was ready.
She stood in front of the mirror and stared at her reflection, she was looking pretty.
She paid attention to her stomach and stared at it, it was still so flat. She slowly raised her hands and placed them on it.
Sooner or later she would have to tell Axel about it, her stomach would eventually grow bigger.
She took in a deep breath and sighed, she thought about everything for a while and finally made up her mind. She would tell Axel after the ball.
She knows he would be mad and probably be more mad at Dr. Gerad for lying but he needed to know.
If he suggests she have another abortion again, she would. After all, that was what she signed up for.
The door to her room suddenly opened and she snapped out of her thoughts, she hurriedly withdrew her hands from her stomach and Axel stepped in.
She turned to him with a smile and stared at him. He stood at the door and stared back at her.
He looked so elegant in his tuxedo, he fitted him so much it looked like it was made just for him. He looked so handsome and charming, that Lily couldn’t stop staring.
‘I fucking love this man so much.!’ she screamed in her head.
She realised she had been staring for too long and she looked away feeling embarrassed. She ran her hand on her hair and Axel chuckled.
“It’s okay. You can keep staring, I am yours anyway.” Axel said as he walked towards her, Lily smiled at him.
He got to her and wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her forehead.
“You look so beautiful.” He complimented her and she blushed.
“You look great too.”
“I know.” Axel replied proudly and they both chuckled.
“Are you ready?” He asked and she nodded in response. He kissed her lips and she reciprocated.
“So, it’s the last ball of the season.” Lily said and he nodded.
“Yeah.” He replied dryly and she furrowed her brows.
“What’s wrong? You don’t sound so excited like everyone else.” Lily said and Axel rolled his eyes.
“Yes, because everyone is being so dramatic about it.” He replied and Lily laughed.
“Nora is too.” She laughed and Axel pulled her closer to himself.
“I don’t care about the ball. I just want to be done with and get back home and have my wife all to myself.” Axel said and she giggled.
He was about to kiss her again but Lily stopped him by placing a finger on his lips.
“We will be late.” She said and he nodded and pulled away.
“You will be punished for that later.” He said and she smiled.
“Kind of looking forward to it.” She replied and he chuckled before they both walked out of the room together.
They made their way out of the house and got into the car.
Lily sighed as the car drove out of the compound, they looked out the window and stared at the buildings and lights they passed.
