Lily watched as he helped her with the other pair of heels, he was careful and gentle.
“Thank you.” Lily muttered when he was done. Axel stood up and stretched his hand towards her, she took it and he helped her up.
He grabbed his jacket on the couch and he locked hands with Lily, they both walked out of the suite.
In minutes, they were out of the hotel. They both stood in front of a car with a chauffeur in it, one of Axel’s men opened the car door for them and they both got in.
The chauffeur drove into the streets and Lily turned to Axel with a smile.
“Where are we going?” She asked.
“You’ll see.” He replied and Lily nodded. She was excited, she couldn’t wait to be surprised again. Her husband was full of surprises tonight.
During the ride, they were both silent. Lily was thinking about what Axel had planned while Axel’s eyes were fixed on his wife. He couldn’t ever get tired of staring at her.
The chauffeur pulled over in front of a restaurant and Axel walked out of the car with Lily. Lily stared at the building, one could tell it was a fancy restaurant from the outside.
Axel locked hands with her and pulled her gently towards the entrance, they got to the entrance and a man in a suit opened the door for them.
They walked in and Lily’s lips parted in shock as she saw how beautiful the interior looked. Apart from it being pretty, it was decorated just for them.
The whole room was empty, there were flowers all around, and there was a different table in the middle of the room, it looked more beautiful than the others.
There were roses around the table, and a few workers too were standing at every corner of the room dressed in a suit.
Axel stared at Lily and watched her reacting, he could tell she was surprised and she loved it. He felt satisfied, he had thought that she wouldn’t be so impressed, a date at a restaurant would be too casual and less impressive.
He just decided to give it a try and add a little twist. His wife still loved it and appreciated it.
“Come on.” He said and pulled her gently towards the table, he pulled out the chair for her and she sat down. He also took a seat and Lily smiled at him.
Classical music started to play in the background and Lily giggled as she looked around.
Axel picked up the menu and so did she. She looked at the dishes on the menu and realized most of them were strange to her.
Axel noticed her confused expression as she read the menu, he signalled a waiter to walk to them.
The waiter got to them and Lily looked up at him, it was a teenage boy. He couldn’t take his eyes off Lily.
Axel caught his stare at his wife, Lily wasn’t also helping. She kept smiling at him.
“Have you found another job already?” Axel suddenly asked and he snapped out of his thoughts. He turned to Axel and bowed.
“I’m… I’m sorry sir.” He stuttered nervously.
“What would you like to have?” He asked and Axel looked at Lily.
“What would you like to have?” He asked her and she shrugged.
“Anything with chicken.” She replied.
“Your best dishes with chicken.” Axel said to the boy and he bowed before walking away.
“It is wrong to smile at strangers.” Axel suddenly said to Lily and she raised her brows.
“Especially teenage boys.” He added.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” She apologised immediately which caught Axel off guard. He wasn’t expecting an apology from her.
Before he could say anything else, she had already looked away from him and was now looking around the room.
She loved it and couldn’t stop staring.
Two waiters walked to them carrying different dishes, Lily noticed the teenage boy wasn’t among the waiters who brought the meals.
They dropped them on the table, bowed, then walked away.
“Wow, they look so good.” Lily gasped and clapped her hands a little. They were both about to start eating when Lily’s phone beeped.
She stared at it and noticed it was a text from Nora, she hurriedly clicked on it and read it.
Nora was asking her where she was with Axel.
“Who is that?” Axel asked.
“It’s Nora.” Lily replied without looking up at him.
She informed Nora where they were and she asked her to send a picture.
Lily took a selfie and took pictures of the meals then sent them to her. All these while, Axel was watching her.
She finally dropped her phone and looked up at him, she smiled and started to eat.
“Don’t rush your food.” Axel ordered before he started to eat. He knew she was going to rush the meal, she eats too fast.
The dinner went on in silence till Lily stopped eating.
She informed Axel she was filled already, and he also stopped eating. He already settled the bills before they got to the restaurant, all they did was leave when they were done.
They got outside and Lily noticed Axel’s car was gone. There was no car outside the restaurant.
“Axel, your car is gone.” She said and turned to him.
“Yeah, I know.” He replied and she furrowed her brows.
“Shouldn’t we… ”
“I told the chauffeur to head back to the hotel without us.” He replied, Lily became confused.
“Why? How are we supposed to get back to the hotel?” She asked.
“We will walk. The hotel isn’t far from here, it’s just a fifteen minute walk.” He replied and held her hand firmly.
“Okay then,” Lily replied with a smile.
It had been a while since she had taken a walk, a walk with Axel would be fun.
“Do you know the way back to the hotel?” Lily asked as they started to walk. He shrugged at her question and locked hands with her.
“This should be fun.” She said happily.
