“What the hell is going on here?” Mrs. McCall yelled as she rushed towards them which gained more attention from the people in the room.
Malia faked cries as she looked at her drenched clothes. Axel’s stepmother was also with Mrs. McCall.
“I… I didn’t do anything, I… ”
“Yet, you are holding the glass.” Axel’s stepmother replied and Lily hurriedly dropped the cup.
“Darling, what happened?” Mrs. McCall asked as she ran her hands over her daughter’s body. Everyone kept watching, Lily noticed Axel among the crowd and her heart raced in fear.
Things just got ruined!
“All I did was ask her for a glass of water since the waiters weren’t around, I felt I had the right to ask her since she is the host. I don’t know why but she suddenly slapped me and poured a glass of water on me.” Malia cried out loud and Lily’s lips parted in shock.
That was such a huge lie but the crowd bought it because they started to mumble words among themselves with different expressions on.
“Why would you do such a thing? You just embarrassed the whole family.” Axel’s stepmother said and Lily shook her head as she was short of words.
She was too shocked to speak, it all happened so fast. She looked among the crowd to see if she could find Axel but he wasn’t there, to make things worse, Nora wasn’t there too. She was all alone.
“We should leave.” She heard the crowd say and they all started to walk out.
“Yes, she doesn’t respect her guests.”
“She doesn’t even look like she knows what she is doing.”
Different comments came from the guests as they all walked out of the room.
“No, no, no. Please stay.” Lily pleaded but no one listened to her.
“I didn’t do… ”
“Oh, shut up.” Mrs. McCall cut her off and Lily turned to her. At this point, the room was already empty. Lily sighed and looked at the people standing in her presence.
Her mother,(Mrs. McCall) Malia, and Axel’s stepmother.
“You really believe I did that?” Lily asked her mother and she rolled her eyes.
“There is nothing someone with a low life wouldn’t do to get attention.” She replied and Lily stared at her in disbelief.
“Why are you being so mean to me? I am your… ”
“Mistake. My biggest mistake.” She cut Lily off and she stared at her in disbelief. Tears welled up in her eyes as she stared at them.
Malia had a smile on her face which showed she got exactly what she wanted.
“Come on, let’s leave.” She said and walked away with Malia, Axel’s stepmother glared at her one last time before walking after them.
Lily sniffed and wiped the tears that rolled down her cheeks immediately, she looked around the room and breathed out heavily.
She slowly made her way into the house, as she got closer to the main building, she wondered about the mess she just put herself in and what Axel was going to do to her.
He told her everything must go well for the night and she ruined it. She hurried her steps towards the living room, all she had to do was go to her room before he could see her, that way, she would avoid whatever he was about to do.
She got to the living room and froze when she saw him there, he was on a phone call. He already took off his jacket and rolled the sleeves of his shirt up to his elbow. The first three buttons of his shirt were also unbuttoned.
She couldn’t move, he had already seen her immediately she entered the living room. A few seconds passed and he ended the call, he dropped his phone on the couch and Lily’s heart raced.
“I… I’m sorry. I am so sorry. I didn’t mean to ruin everything, I didn’t do anything to her, she poured the water on herself, I didn’t even hit her.” Lily rushed her words with tears rushing to her eyes in the process.
She was so terrified that her hands trembled and her knees were weak, she failed to be the flawless life she was supposed to be tonight.
Axel wasn’t saying anything so she spoke up again.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t do any of the things she said. I was just… ”
“You should get some rest. I have a meeting tomorrow and you are coming with me.” He cut her off and picked up his phone and jacket. He walked up the stairs and Lily let out a breath she didn’t realise she was holding.
The tears in her eyes streamed down her cheeks and she sniffed. She felt relieved he didn’t say anything but was still bothered.
What if he saved it up for later? What if he had other plans?
She slowly walked up the stairs and wiped her tears as she did, she got into her room and sighed in relief before falling on her bed.
“What a day.” She mumbled.
It was morning again and Lily was woken up by the maids, they informed her Axel told her to get ready.
Lily remembered he informed her about a meeting they would be attending last night. The maids brought new dresses and Lily wondered if she would be getting new dresses for every event she had to attend.
She checked the time and it was almost noon, the maids were already done getting her ready. It was also a black gown but this one was short and simple.
She noticed most of the event’s themes were always in black. She had her hair styled and had no makeup on this time.
She was still seated in front of her mirror, admiring how she looked and how things had changed for her in just a few days. How she is now being with important people she never thought she could meet.
The door to her room suddenly opened and she looked through the mirror to see who it was, surprisingly, it was Axel.
She hurriedly stood up and turned to him, he stared at the room for a few seconds before turning to her.
“Good morning.” She greeted nervously and he slowly walked towards her. She bowed her head a little, trying to avoid eye contact with him.
He was dressed already and as usual, he looked amazing. Lily slowly looked up at him and noticed he was staring at the mirror, she turned to look at it, wondering what he was staring at.
He was staring at her bare back through it, the gown had a low cut at the back which revealed a little.
Lily felt nervous and she turned to look at him, she recalled last night and felt the need to apologize.
“I’m sorry about how last night went, I… ”
“Forget about that.” He cut her off and looked at her, they made eye contact and Lily held his gaze.
“Are you ready?” He asked and she nodded in response. He stared at the mirror again and stared at her back, the urge to run his hands through it was becoming unbearable.
He also thought about how every man would stare at it and admire it.
“I don’t like your dress.” He suddenly said and looked at her.
“Oh.” She muttered. Axel could see the confusion in her eyes, she was just too innocent about everything.
“Sorry, it was part of the dress the maids bought. I should have picked another one.” She hurriedly said and looked at the couch. As she walked towards it, she passed Axel and he inhaled her fragrance.
At that moment, a million thoughts popped into his head and it was all about how he could make her scream his name in pain and pleasure.
