Dimitri POV

” So, why are we having a meeting?” Lucia asked as we enter my office.
I walk over to my desk and open the top drawer. ” I had a few men locate Daniel’s hideout. Him popping back up just when I get Amara back isn’t a coincidence.” I say pulling out my gun from the drawer. I pull out the magazine to make sure the bullets are fully loaded before placing the magazine back in with a click.
” If our men found him It has to be a trap. Daniel would never let us find him this easy.” Liam adds to the conversation with irritation in his voice.
I guess he is still pissed off at me for snapping at him a few moments ago, but Mary needs to learn her place.
” I am aware that it could be a trap, but Amara will be safe here. She will have our dad’s, cousins, and Mary here too keep her safe.” Feeling my phone vibrate in my jacket pocket I pull it out to see it was my men giving me Daniel address.
” I will be waiting in the SUV. You two go get your guns and let’s go.” I tell them.
Lucia shakes his head, ” Dimitri, I think this is a bad idea. This is a trap to lead us away from Amara.”
” Lucia, he can’t do anything to Amara. She will be fine. Now get your shit and let’s go. The faster we kill him. The faster I can come back and spend time with Amara.” I tell him as I leave my office.
I walk down the hallway and out the front door to the SUV that was already waiting for me. Hearing my name I turn around to see Amara running up to me barefoot.
” Where are you going?” She questions me.
” I told you earlier not to worry about it. Now go back inside.”
I watch her fold her arms across her chest. ” No, tell me what is going on! Right now!” She snaps at me in a stern tone.
I smile down at her and give a soft chuckle, ” Go inside Amara.” I tell her.
She shakes her head, ” No, I am not going inside until you tell me what is going on.”
I stare at her before glancing at the front door as I hear Liam and Lucia talking. ” Amara, I don’t have time for this. Take your ass back inside and stay there.”
” No! Tell me what is happening!” She says raising her voice at me.
” Amara, just go inside.” Liam tells her in a soft tone.
” No! I want one of you to tell me what is happening!” She snaps at all of us.
I see three gaurds come around the corner from patrolling the mansion grounds. I whistle at them to get there attention before hand signaling them over to me.
” Take Amara inside the house and make sure stays inside.” I order them.
They give me a nod as they grab Amara by her wrist. Only for Amara to knee two of them in the crotch and punching the third one in the throat.
I let out a sigh, ” You just have to be a pain in the ass.” I says as I pick Amara up and throw her over my shoulder.
I hear her scream, ” Put me down!” She yells as she is hitting me in the back with her fist.
I carry her back inside and take her to an empty bathroom. I gently set her down and shove her in before locking her inside.
I would have locked her in the bedroom, but after what happened last time. I am not risking her climbing out the bedroom window again. Especially since I haven’t had time to fix it where it can’t be opened.
” Did you just lock Amara in the bathroom?” My father asked as he walks up from behind me.
” Yeah, she is being stubborn. You can let her out once I leave.” I tell him as I hear Amara pounding on the door, causing the door to shake violently against the door frame.
” Good luck with that.” I tell my dad as I quickly head back outside.
I will text my dad about the situation when I get on the road. So, he knows what is happening and too keep everyone on high alert.

The drive to Daniel’s hideout was three hours long. On the way there I had to listen to Liam bitch about how I was being a jerk to Mary.
He has sex with her one time and decides he wants to keep her as his girlfriend.
Swear it’s like he never had pussy before.
” Can you shut up about Mary now!? All you have done is whine about her for three hours.” I snap at him.
” All I am saying is be respectful!” Liam snaps back.
” If she stays out of mine and Amara relationship. I will be very respectful towards her. Now shut the fuck up and let’s go.” Opening the vehicle door I climb out and head towards the small house.
All the lights inside were on, but there wasn’t a single gaurd insight. I watch as the porch light suddenly flickers on and Nate opens the door and walks out.
” I can’t believe you actually took the bait.” Nate says with a smirk.
” I told you it was a trap.” Liam mumbles under his breath.
” Well congratulations! You lead us here, now where is Daniel?” I question Nate.
I watch Nate’s smirk turn into a cold smile. ” He went to your house to get Amara and little Sadie.”
” He won’t be able to get inside.”
Nate laughs, ” No, actually he will be able too. We had some of our men take some of your new recruit spots, and since you never met the new recruit. It made it very easy for our men to kill them and take their place.”
” Your lying.” I says feeling my blood start to boil with anger.
” Afraid we are not.” James says as he walks out of the house and stands next to Nate.
Feeling my phone vibrate in my pocket I pull it out. After reading the text message my dad sent me. I squeeze my phone in my hands and stare at Nate and James. ” Where did Daniel go with Amara!” I snap at them.
” So, he succeeded in taking her. Figure he would after all he did have everything set up. We didn’t even know about him planting a few of our men with yours until a few hours ago.” Nate says with a cocky smirk on his face.
Yeah, he succeeded in taking Amara but he wasn’t lucky in taking Sadie. Apparently Amara put Sadie down at somepoint allowing her to crawl into a tight space. She stayed quiet until my dad went looking for her.
I guess she was listening to me after all. When I told her if anything happens to find a really good hiding spot.
I point my gun at Nate and James, ” Where the hell did Daniel take Amara!” I snap at them.
” We actually don’t know. He isn’t going to tell us until a little later. We are just here to distract the three of you and that is it.” Nate says lighting a cigarette.
” Or I can shoot you in the leg and beat the information out of you.” I threaten him.
James starts laughing, ” Yeah, but we aren’t going to tell you. Not to mention if we don’t answer his call. He isn’t ever going to tell us where he is, than you won’t get the invitation to the wedding.”
” What wedding!?” I snap at him.
” Amara and Daniel wedding.” Nate says with amusement on his face.
” Amara is mine! She belongs to me!” I snap at them.
” She doesn’t belong to you anymore. Especially since there wedding will be very soon.” Nate says as I shoot at him.
The bullet misses and hits the door frame. I watch both Nate and James dart into the house. I ran up the porch steps after them. Once I am inside the smell of gasoline instantly fills my nostrils, and my feet slide due to the floor being wet.
They covered the floor in gasoline….
Hearing a whistle I look towards the back door to see Nate flick his cigarette onto the gasoline covered floor.
Fuck!
Watching the floor instantly get engulfed in flames. I quickly run back towards the front door just in time to see Liam and Lucia were running in after me.
” Go back!” I yell at them.
I watch them stare at me confused before both their eyes go wide and they run back out. I get halfway out the door before I hear something explode behind me and hot air hits my back. I am flung forward into Liam before everything goes dark.
