I follow Dimitri to our room and watch as he grabs his gun from the top shelf. He places it in his waistband behind his back.
” I am coming! So give me a moment to change my clothes!” I tell him as I run over to my bags to find them empty.
” I had a maid put them in the dresser and you aren’t coming with me.” Dimitri says in a stern tone.
” I either come with you or I call a taxi and follow you.” I tell back in the same stern tone.
” You think?” He questioned me.
” No, I know and what is that suppose to mean?” I ask turning around to face him. I across my arms over my chest as I stare at him intensity.
” Nothing.” He says back flatly.
I turn back around and walk over to the dresser. I open it up to look inside. Only to hear the bedroom door open and shut follow by a click.
He didn’t!
I stop what I am doing and run over to the bedroom door. I turn the knob but it won’t twist. So I start banging on the door with my fist.
” Dimitri! unlock this fucking door!” I yell as I continue to bang my fist against the door.
” You aren’t coming with me Amara. Now stop banging on the door before you hurt your hand.” He says back in a stern tone before I hear his footsteps fade away.
I let out a frustrated scream and start banging harder on the door with my fist.
” Dimitri!!” I scream with tears in my eyes. I turn around and lean my back against the door.
I stare at the only window in our room and wipe my tears away with my hand.
I have to get out of here and get to the casino before Dimitri does. There is no telling what he might do to my dad. Especially since he is asking for money and was trying to get me to meet with him in person.
I walk over to the window and unlock it. I lift the window up and stick my head out to see how far down it is.
I am on the second floor but there seems to be a lot of guards hanging around.
Pulling my head back inside the room I look over at the bedsheets and blankets. I walk over and take all the blankets and sheets off the bed.
I am not really sure if these sheets will be long enough for me to climb out the window. Not to mention it has been a long time since I did something like this.
The last time I did this it was back in high school, and I had to sneak out of my own house to go on a date with a guy from the football team. I knew if Dimitri came looking for me. My mom would tell him I left with a guy and would have to deal with his wrath. So to avoid any conflict I snuck out. Not that it really matter because Dimitri found me somehow and beat the shit out of the guy.
He couldn’t play football the rest of the season. Not to mention everyone stopped asking me out after that.
Tying two of the black silk sheets together and giving it a hard tug to make sure it doesn’t come apart.
I kinda hope these sheets are strong enough to hold my body weight to climb down. I really hate to break a bone trying to escape. I wouldn’t hear the end of it from Liam or Lucia. Those two would have a good laugh about it.
I tie the sheets to the bed post and start walking the rest of the sheets towards the window. Only to find out it isn’t long enough.
I look around for somewhere else to tie the sheets, but there isn’t a spot to tie it.
Looking at Sadie portable crib and at the sheets I tied together in my hands. I drop the sheets to the floor, before letting out a loud sigh.
I don’t want to use Sadie crib, because I don’t want to accidentally break her crib. My only option is to climb down by hand.
I grab my purse from the nightstand and put it on my shoulder. I walk over to the window and climb out feet first.
My palms start to sweat staring down at the ground. I take a deep breath and slowly exhale.
Great!
Now how do I climb down?
This whole masion is bricked up and I don’t see anything I can use to climb down. He doesn’t even have those cute flower ladder things going up the wall like normal mansions do in the movies.
Seeing a guard coming around the corner I get an idea that I once saw in a movie.
When they don’t have anything to climb down on. They just jump on top of another person to help soften the blow of the ground.
Let’s hope I don’t break anything or kill this guy, because I will feel horrible. If me jumping on this guy at this height kills him.
I watch as he walks right below me and starts reaching into his right jacket pocket. I take this time that he is distracted to push myself off the window seal.
I let out a loud scream, ” Don’t move!” I shout out to the gaurd when I see him start to take a step forward.
I slam into him with a hard thud before he has a chance to look up at me. I let out a cough and groan as I roll off the guard.
I check to make sure nothing is broken, before seeing if the gaurd is still breathing by placing my hand infront of his nose. Feeling hot air hit against my skin. I let out a sigh of relief before slowly standing up.
I whine a little as I stand and slowly start to walk. Once I get to the corner I poke my head out to look around. I spot a bush and make a run for it. As I get close to the bush I hear a males voice.
” Hey! Stop!” The male voice shouts out me.
So much for hiding in a bush to figure out my next move. It is now or never!
Spotting a black SUV with the driver door wide open with the keys inside, and the engine still running. I dart towards it and jump inside. I shut the driver side door and slam my foot down on the pedal.
The SUV makes a loud screeching sounds as I pull out of the driveway. As I am driving towards the gate I can hear shouting and see the huge black gate infront of me starting to close.
I add more pressure to the gas pedal. I hear a loud scratching sound of metal on metal. As I drive through the gate just as it is closing on me. I turn the wheel real sharp to get onto the road and hear a small thud.
” Damn Amara! Slow down will you!” Liam says as he pops his head up from the back seat.
Shit! When did he get in here!
” When did you get in!” I snapped at him.
” I was waiting for Dimitri!” He exclaims and starts laughing.
” You just stole Dimitri ride!” He says as he lays back in the seat laughing his head off.
As Liam is laughing I see headlights from another SUV gaining on me rather quickly. Followed by loud honking and lights flashing at me.
I hear Liam let out a sigh with a small chuckle. ” Alright, fun time is over. Pull the car over Amara.” Liam tells me.
Looking at him through the review mirror he gives me a soft small.
” No, I am not pulling over just for him to drag me back to the masion. I am going to get my dad! He needs help Liam! He needs rehab or som-”
I don’t get to finish my sentence because the SUV behind me. Speeds past me and comes to a sudden stop. I let out a scream and slam on the breaks causing me to smack my head into the steering wheel.
I feel a throbbing pain shoot through my head with my ears ringing. I place my hand on my head and feel wetness. Bringing my hand down I see blood.
Feeling warm air from outside hit my skin. I look at my door to see Dimitri standing next to me.
He reaches in and pulls my out by my upper arm. I can see his mouth moving and he seems to be yelling at someone. Most likely he is yelling at Liam or one of his men.
All I can hear is a loud ringing sound.
” Dimitri, I am going with you to get my dad.” I tell him causing him to look down at me. I watch as he pushes his lips into a thin line.
” No, you are going to the hospital! Where you will stay until I go to pick you up!” I hear him say angrily as the ringing sound slowly starts to disappear.
” No! I am going with you!” I snap back him.
He let’s out an angrily growl, ” No! You are going to the hospital!” He says as he roughly grabs me by my jaw and forces me to make eye contact with him causing me to let out a small whimper.
” You will stay and you will wait!” He snaps at me before releasing his hold on my jaw, and shoving me into an SUV. Where I am sandwiched between two guards.
I hear some yelling before watching Liam climb into the driver seat. I watch as he puts his seat belt on and puts the vehicle into drive.
” Liam, I don’t need a hospital.” I tell him calmly.
” Too bad. The boss said to take you to the hospital. So that is where I am taking you. So, be a good girl. He is already pissed off about you escaping and driving off without his permission. when he already told you no.” Liam says as he drives down the road.
This sucks!
Not only did I make myself sore from jumping out of a second floor window. I smack my head hard into the steering wheel causing me to bleed and get a bad headache. I also got caught by Dimitri and now I am being forcefully taken to the hospital.
…….
It was only a twenty minute drive to hospital mainly because Liam was speeding and passing a bunch of cop cars.
I kept thinking we were going to get pulled over because I saw a cop car flash it’s red and blue lights at us.
~ FLASHBACK TO TWENTY MINUTES AGO ~
As Liam is speeding down the highway I notice a cop car get behind us an flash it’s lights.
I heard Liam chuckle, ” Do it! Pull me over.” He says with amusement in his voice.
” Liam be nice.” I say laying my head back against the seat.
” What? I just want to play with the little piggy.” Liam says innocently to me causing both guards to chuckle.
~ FLASHBACK OVER ~
We never did get pulled over but I have a feeling if we did. That Liam would probably have shot the poor guy or atleast beat the crap out of him.
Hearing the hospital door open. I watch as the doctor walks in with my file in his hand.
” The x-ray doesn’t show any damage, but I do want you to have a CT scan and a MRI just to be sure.” The doctor tells me.
I roll my eyes, ” It’s a concussion not brain damage! I want to leave now!” I tell him frustrated.
” Let him do his job Amara.” Liam tells me before looking at the doctor with a cold smirk. ” He is doing what is best to make sure you are okay. Besides if you leave and something is wrong. The doc here will be six feet deep.” He says coldly.
I watch the doctors face turn pale as he swallow hard before speaking. ” I w-will go get these p-put into the system.” He tells us before quickly leaving.
” Stop being a dick!” I snap at Liam as I gently rub my hand against my head. ” Would be nice if I could have got something for my head, before you scared him off.” I add rolling over onto my side.
” I wasn’t lying your safety is important and Dimitri will kill him. If you aren’t okay, and they release you anyway.” Liam says to me before pulling one of the gaurds out into the hallway.
I grab the hospital blanket and pull it over my head to block out the light.
I can’t help but worry a little bit about my dad. I hope Dimitri doesn’t hurt him. He wasn’t a horrible dad. Ever since him and mom got divorced he has never been the same.
I knew he was drinking, gambling, and having a lot of sex. I am unsure if he is on drugs or not. He needs rehab of some kind.
