Amara POV
….
I was told by one of the maids earlier this morning when I was looking for that bathroom with Sadie in my arms that Dimitri and Lucia got home late.
I was currently sitting on my bed watching Sadie crawl around on the bed playing with her toys happily without a care in the world.
Hearing a light knock on the door. I take my eyes off Sadie and look at the door.
” Come in!” I call out to whoever is on the other side.
The door knob turns and Lucia walks in wearing sweatpants and a light grey shirt. He smiles at me, ” I am surprised to see you are already dressed. Use to it would take you hours.” He tells me and he walks over to the bed.
Sadie stares up at Lucia happily and holds her little arms up to him.
Lucia smiles down at her and picks her up as her screams and giggles fill the room.
“Well, that was when I was a teenager. Now I have to get dressed fast before she gets into stuff.” I tell him and laugh watching her cling to Lucia with a wide grin on her little face. ” Looks like she likes you.” I tell him.
He smiles and gives her a hug, ” Well, yeah? Who wouldn’t like me?” he asked giving Sadie a small kiss on the forehead.
” Lets go get breakfast!” Lucia says cheerfully as he starts walking to the door with Sadie in his arms.
I laugh, ” Hey! Did you really come in here to steal my baby!” I say getting to my feet and following him out of my bed room.
Listening to Sadie babble happily to Lucia I can’t help but get teary eyes.
While he pretends to understand her, ” Wow! Really?” He asked Sadie. She nods her little head and continues to babble.
I laugh watching them as we enter the dinning room.
Walking in I notice Dimitri is seating at the head of the table. While is father is sitting to the left of him.
Its a little weird seeing that. When I was here last with everyone. Rex would sit at the head of the table. While Dimitri would sit where Rex is sitting now.
I notice two older men sitting next to Liam. I recognize them as being both Liam and Lucia dads.
I smile at them, ” Hi, Mr. Kir and Mr. Lev.” I say greeting the two older man.
Kir still looks the same to me. Only he looks more muscular for his age. He has the same dark brown hair and brown eyes as Liam. While Lev who is Lucia dad is more slim but still has quit a bit of muscle on him than I remember. His hair is short and dark brown like everyone else in the house and like the rest of the boys they are all dressed in sweatpants and wearing t-shirts.
They both smile up at me and Kir stands up. ” Well, look who has grown up to be a very beautiful young women.” Kir says walking over to me and pulls me into his strong arms for a hug.
I blush at his comments, “T-Thanks.” I stutter out as I give him a soft hug back.
” Dad..” Liam says to Kir giving him a glare.
” What?” He says innocently and gives everyone at the table a sly smile.
I notice Dimitri is glaring in my direction but his eyes are fixated on Kir and his arms that are still wrapped around me.
What the hell is his problem?
Kir notices Dimitri glare and instantly let go, ” Someone woke up on the side of the bed this morning.” He whispers mainly to me.
I bite back a laugh as I take a seat next to Rex.
Sadie loud babbling breaks the awkward silence that’s in the room.
I look over to see Lucia giving her a spoon full of whipped cream. ” Lucia don’t give her that.” I sigh as Sadie already put the spoon in her mouth. She hums happily and claps her hands together.
Lucia laughs, ” She likes it, beside it isn’t going to hurt. I will make sure she also eats actual food.” He tells me as he holds up the small baby food container that next to his plate.
I’m not really if people food is a good idea. I mean she is technically the age to start eating baby food, but I just haven’t introduces it to her yet.
Where did he even get the baby food from anyway?
I know I didn’t bring any.
I glare at Lucia before letting out a soft sigh,” Fine, but if she throws up. You are cleaning it up.” I tells him as a maid puts a plate in front of me.
I thank the maid softly before I dig into my biscuits and gravy.
” So, how is the room?” Rex asked me softly as he takes a drink of his coffee.
” It is very nice. Even Sadie had a blast exploring the room before I could get her to go to sleep. She kept climbing and crawling on everything.” I tell him as I wipe my mouth with a napkin.
Rex smiles at me, ” I am happy to hear you both like it.” He tells me.
I smile back at Rex and go to speak before Lucia voice cuts me off.
” Hey! Slow down!” Lucia says with a laugh that catches mine and everyone’s attention.
Looking in Lucia direction my mouth falls open at the sight in front of me.
Sadie was holding the pink plastic spoon that Lucia was holding and was trying to feed herself. She even had mash potatoes all over her little face and her feet kicked in excitement as Lucia dipped the spoon into the mash potatoes and brings it back to her mouth.
I hear Dimitri let out a chuckle followed by everyone else laughing.
I can’t help but to smile watching Lucia with Sadie.
This was the type of relationship I wanted her to have with family and friends. Its one of the reason I wanted to move back here cause I wanted my daughter to be surrounded by love and care. I didn’t want her growing up in a toxic environment. Especially when she getting to where she can speak words and slowly understand things around her. Her development is very important at this age. Children are like little sponges and they soak up everything they see and hear around them.
I just want, what is best for her.
