Marco’s p. o. v
My eyes fixed on the screens displaying the feeds from the hidden cameras.
Roman thought he had the upper hand, but he was just a pawn in my game.
“Marco, we need to move now,” my father growled, his anger palpable.
His eyes were also fixed on the screen, and whatever Roman is doing right now is getting to us. Dad hasn’t been able to hide his feelings when it concerns Mom, this weakness became evident.
I knew he would rip Roman apart the first chance he gets. I’m barely holding back the rage boiling inside of me, seeing the condition they are in is killing.
But for we to end this game, we have to destroy its root. That is finding the man behind the scene, he’s definitely not going to be a happy ending for him when I get him.
“Not yet,” I replied. “We need to let Roman think he’s in control.”
My father’s face twisted in rage. “Fuck that bullshit, I’m going over there now.” Dad was already on his way out.
“I know, Dad” I said, my jaw clenched. “But we can’t let emotions cloud our judgment. We need to play this smart.”
“Fuck!” Dad hissed stopping dead in his tracks. He knew what has to be done, but with Mom and the others in our enemies grip seem to be messing with his head.
I am even more anxious, my woman is there too. The thought of her getting harmed by that bastard, made my heart skips a bit.
I thought back to the intentional leak I had created, allowing Roman to think he had the upper hand. It was all part of the plan, a plan that would ultimately lead to Roman’s downfall.
“Dante!” Dad growled directly to uncle Dante and Luciano, his voice low and urgent.
They are responsible for tracking Roman’s database, only them can we get to the mastermind.
“I’m working on it,” Uncle Dante replied. “But I think I’ve found a lead.”
My eyes narrowed. “And?”
“Roman’s communication channels are encrypted, but I think I’ve found a vulnerability,” Uncle Dante said, his eyes fixed on the screen in front of him. “If I can exploit it, we might be able to get to the mastermind.”
“Keep working on it,” my father growled. “We need that information now.”
I nodded, my mind racing with possibilities. “We already have eyes inside, and I have men among his”
I turned to the screens displaying the feeds from the hidden cameras. Roman was pacing back and forth in the room, his face twisted in anger.
My eyes scanned the screens, as much as I appear calm, the turmoil in my heart races with every passing moment. My mother, Zoey, was chained to a chair, her eyes fixed on Roman with a mixture of fear and defiance. The others were similarly restrained, their faces etched with worry and discomfort.
I have the location of where they are being held as I had fixed a tracking device on Zoey, but destroying Roman from his root is my aim.
“Zoom in on Roman’s phone.” I instructed Luciano.
He nodded, and the feed zoomed in on Roman’s phone. He was texting someone, his thumbs flying across the screen.
“Intercept that message”
The room fell silent. We all knew what was at stake.
“Got it,” Uncle Dante said finally. The message reads: ‘Waiting for further instructions. I don’t have much patience’!
I clenched my jaw. “Who is he texting?”
Uncle Dante’s eyes narrowed. “I’m tracing the number now.”
We waited in silence, our eyes fixed on the screen.
Finally, Uncle Dante spoke up. “The number is registered to a shell company. But I think I can track it back to the owner.”
“Do it,” my father growled.
I clenched my jaw, my anger boiling over. Roman was enjoying this, reveling in his perceived power.
“Uncle Dante, how much longer?” I asked, my voice low and urgent.
“I’m trying to trace the number, Marco,” he replied, his eyes fixed on the screen. “But it’s like they knew we’d try to track them. They’ve got layers of protection in place.”
I nodded, my mind racing. We needed to move fast, before Roman got impatient and decided to hurt them.
Uncle Dario and uncle Lucas have been quiet since the whole stunt, but I can see the worry in their eyes. Using our women as a bait and leaving them vulnerable is dangerous.
But it’s the only way to have Roman dance to our tunes.
“What is it?” my father growled, his eyes fixed on the screen.
“It’s a message,” Luciano replied, his voice tight. “From the mastermind.”
“What does it say?” I asked, my eyes fixed on the screen.
Luciano hesitated, his eyes scanning the message. “It says… ‘Prepare the package for transport.’
My father’s face twisted in rage. “We need to move now.”
I nodded, my mind racing. We had to act fast, before it was too late.
“Got it!” Uncle Dante exclaimed, his eyes locked on the screen. “I’ve finally traced the mastermind’s location.”
My father’s face lit up with determination. “Where is it?”
Uncle Dante’s fingers flew across the keyboard. “It’s an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. I’m sending the address to your phone now.”
I felt a surge of adrenaline. This was it. This was the moment we’d been waiting for.
“Let’s move,” my father growled, already heading for the door.
“Uncle Dario, Lucas and Luciano, go stop the transportation. We’ll meet soon.” I nod at dad and uncle Dante, who are coming with me.
We are heading for our biggest rival.
