“Really?” I ask in disbelief. “Is that all you have to say to me after you storm out on me yesterday? Or when you came back home at 2am drunk and wasted?” I yelled angrily.
He didn’t say anything, rather he seems unfazed by my words. I waited for him to give a response, anything even a silly excuse, but I got nothing.
“What now? You’re not going to say anything?” I was getting all the more pissed.
I need an explanation for his behavior yesterday, and why he came home drunk.
“I don’t have time for this.” He scoffed, like I’m being ridiculous.
He doesn’t have time for this? He doesn’t have time for this, what is that supposed to mean? That I’m nagging?
“The hell you don’t have time for this shit.” I threw at him.
“Watch your mouth, woman.” He warned. We should be discussing his behavior of yesterday, but here he is warning me to mind my language.
“Like hell, I care about my words.” This is getting ridiculously frustrating.
Why is he behaving like this? This is unlike the Marco I know, yes he’s stubborn and domineering, but he’s always open with me. What changed?
“I require an explanation, you can’t storm off after we just had sex for no apparent reason. I sat my ass up waiting for my husband, who hasn’t come home late before, only for him to show up drunk and now giving me unreasonable attitude.”
“Unreasonable attitude?” He let out a scoff, like what I’m saying isn’t adding up to him.
“Yes, unreasonable, or maybe you have a valid reason.” I boldly retort.
He nods a few things, like he’s being holding back on what he wanted to say.
“Fine, let’s talk.” He picked this phone from the nightstand and type on it, then brought the phone to his ear. “Have all my appointments cancelled.” He instructed, all the while holding my stare.
Not breaking eye contact, even for a split second.
What actually happened? What has him so upset with me?
“Let’s start with you taking those pills.” He said those words with so much anger and disgust. Like, the mere thought of the pills is a taboo.
“For safety.” I replied easily. Isn’t that what birth control pills are for?
“What are we? Teens? That we have to play safe? We are fucking married.”
Oh, now I get it, he’s angry because I’m taking birth control pills. But I have to, I don’t want to fall pregnant every year, with the number of times we make love in just a week, there’s no way I won’t get pregnant every year.
“And you think I don’t know that?” I questioned softly.
I was wrong, I should have, had a discussion with him.
“So, why taking that shit.” He fumed. His face red from anger.
“I started taking the pills after I had Adriano, I didn’t want to get pregnant immediately. I should have discussed it with you, and I’m sorry.” I apologized.
“There’s nothing to discuss, you are not taking it again.”
“Why?”
“What do you mean, why? You’re my wife, we’re married. You suppose to carry my kids.”
“They are my kids as much as they are yours, don’t personalize our kids.” I frown, what am I? A birth machine? “It’s not like I haven’t given you a child.”
“I want more, I want a daughter.” Wait, has said something like this yesterday. Was it what he was implying?
Oh my God.
“I’m sorry I didn’t inform before taking the pills.” I won’t be stubborn and not admit my fault, he’s my husband and I should have told him at least.” And I will give you as many daughters and sons that you want, but there have to be suitable age gap between them.” I reasoned.
Marco stayed silent, contemplating on what I said. After a moment, he finally spoke up. “But why does the age gap matter? Can’t we just have as many children as we want, regardless of their ages?”
I shook my head. “It’s important to consider the age gap between siblings. It helps create a balanced family dynamic and allows each child to have their space and attention from us as parents.”
Marco nodded slowly, understanding my point. “So, how much of an age gap are we talking about here?” I can tell he’s not liking the idea, but agreeing to it for my sake.
I smiled, relieved that he was starting to see my perspective. “I think a few years between each child would be ideal. It gives us time to focus on each child individually and ensures that they all get the attention and support they need.”
Marco thought for a moment before nodding in agreement.
“I think it’s about time we have our daughter.” I almost palm faced myself.
I nodded, feeling grateful that we were on the same page. “Are you still mad at me?” I blink innocently at him, placing my hand on his chest, rubbing it lightly.
Pushing my boobs up in his face.
“Keep those boobs out of my face.” His voice was hoarse. “Or we might not leave this room anytime soon.”
“I thought you don’t have time for this?” I teased, using his words against him.
“Did you see me leave?” He raised an eyebrow at me, beating me in my game.
“Come on, go about your business, I know you have important work at hand.” I shoved him towards the bathroom, well attempted to since he didn’t even move an inch.
“I just cancelled my appointments.” He stares at me blankly.
“Come on, we both know Matthew is waiting for a confirmation order and hasn’t cancelled your schedule.” I peck his lips and immediately left the room before, he traps me in there.
